Encore was established for dancers who are interested in committing more time to their dance education. Encore is geared to help every dancer reach his or her potential. Encore offers more opportunities to dance & perform through competition, regional & national, community performances & workshops. The Encore Dancer is held to a higher standard of excellence that ensures personal growth, enhancement, confidence, while encouraging a positive attitude, and above all, a love for dance.

History

Established in 2008.

Encore Performance Company, LLC, formerly Encore Competition Dance, began as a local competitive dance company. Because of the growth in the company, as well as the company’s desire to explore many avenues of dance education, ECD needed a permanent home.

After moving to its’ home Vestavia location, non-​competitive classes were added to the curriculum by popular request. Encore Performance Company, LLC was then established and opened its’ doors to new aspiring dancers of all ages and levels.

Currently, Encore holds classes in five separate locations and has 700 plus enrollments. Each class enrollment is capped at a low number based on dance genera, age and level specifications. Encore strongly believes in specialized education in a low student to teacher ratio environment.

In 2009 Encore was ranked by Dancer Magazine as the #1 Competitive Company in Alabama and in Birmingham Magazine as one of Birmingham’s Best Places to Dance.

Meet the Business Owner

Dalana M.

Business Owner

Dalana has been dedicated to educating students of all ages and abilities for over twenty years. She graduated from The University of Alabama with a major in Dance. While at Alabama, she was one of the U of A Varsity Cheer Captains. Having a love for cheer and dance alike, she was pursued as a coach/​choreographer for many cheer, dance and drill teams including the University of Alabama’s dance team (then nationally ranked), and a Coach/​Coordinator for the Canadian Professional Football League cheerleaders/​dancers.

Dalana has choreographed and judged on the national level, as well as teaching student and teacher seminars across the United States.

As the Owner/​Director of Encore, her Birmingham-​based dance company has accumulated a wealth of national awards including the Teacher’s Choice Award, National Best Presentation and Overall High Score Awards. Her students have won national titles and have done national tours in connection with Cruise Lines, Disney and Broadway.
