We are Vestal’s neighborhood bar. Nice selection of wines by the glass or bottle, twelve draft beers, and a stocked bar for cocktails. Our menu of food is limited but quality, our ribeye steak sandwich is under $ 10 and amazing. If you don’t know anyone, believe me you will soon. Owned and operated by women with your comfort in mind. Large screen TVs for sports, an internet jukebox, and for those talented enough to play, a piano. Free WiFi.

History

Established in 1990.

The Wine Cellar Tavern opened 24years ago in its present location, changed ownership 14years ago, when three women who worked there bought it. One women, Eileen O’Neill, still owns and operates it today and strives to update and improve it constantly.

I grew up in Binghamton, and I have worked in the bar and restaurant business since I graduated. Previously I worked at The GreenBrier in Binghamton, The Lodge in Endicott, and The Wine Cellar for the past 23 years. Purchasing it in Feb 2001. I have an amazing adult daughter who will always be my pride and joy, and a very large close Irish catholic family, and an even larger group of friends, all who support me, and make me laugh everyday.

Went their with friends after work. Unless you are a «regular» you can count on terrible service, funny tasting drinks and an overall bad time.
Eileen who introduced herself as the owner was the worst one of them all. She treated everyone in the group terrible and was rude.
My friends and I don’t have real high standards but all agreed we would never go to The Wine Cellar again.
PS… bathrooms looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in months… the gas station down the street is way cleaner!

This place is very friendly, for your average neighborhood bar. It’s charming and a nice change of pace from crowded downtown bars. The menu isn’t very extensive, but the drinks were very delicious and the nachos were fairly tasty. I really enjoyed the Peppermint Patty, a hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps that was rich and minty and very smooth! The service was friendly and attentive, but they left us alone to drink, talk, and hang out for hours on end without unnecessary interruption. The jukebox plays a wide variety of different music, but there’s no music playing consistently, although when it does, you can still hear yourself talk over it. The news and sports on three different TV’s over the bar is nice enough, and the tables (though tall!) are plentiful and comfortable, with hooks on the wall behind you to hang up your coat/​purse. It’s very cozy, feels like a combination dive bar/friend’s basement, and is a nice place to hang out and meet up.

Ye Olde Wine Cellar neither specializes in wine, nor is it in a cellar. It’s your average beer pub. It is located in a tiny enclosed mall (more like a corridor) attached to a supermarket.
The pub has two entrances, one from the outside and one from the enclosed section. The glass windows to the enclosed mall (facing the supermarket’s bottle return machines) has bamboo shades, probably so the patrons don’t feel like they’re in a zoo display, or to prevent wholesome families on a food shopping trip from seeing consummation of adult beverages (actually probably both).
There’s a good selection of draft beers and other drinks, the bathrooms are clean, and the staff is friendly. There is also a relatively large pub food selection. As a result, especially with the «Vestal Curve,» I’m giving this place four stars.
