Quality Inn & Suites Vestal Binghamton

Great hotel. Been staying here since I was 10. Walkable to stuff so if you get drunk you dont have to drive. Will jeep staying here. Staf need is always a 20.

Disclaimer:
The Quality Inn had all its suites sold by the time I tried to reserve. We were left with a regular room. Maybe the suites are nicer. I’ll never know.
I will say before I start that the staff was very nice and efficient. So there’s a plus.
And the free breakfast was not terrible.
To be fair, I’ll try and find the silver lining in the following criticisms:
I’ll start with a lesser
Item:
Free Wifi. Let’s just say you get what you pay for. I’d have to move to the window if I wanted any signal at all. Even there it was so weak I gave up.
Silver Lining: I got to experience what it’s like to live off the grid for a couple of days. I don’t recommend it.
Item:
Fancy Bathrooms (not). My son used the toilet as soon as we got to the room. The thin walls (discussed again below) allowed us to– let’s just say that we all got to hear all the action. Use your imagination on that one because the full description is rather unpleasant. Finally he flushed.
Oh, them pipes. We thought he had a herd of cats in heat in there with him.
Silver Lining: Ears shattered, I was happy to learn that I’m in no way attracted to cats in heat.
Item:
Speaking of Bathrooms, The Lobby has the distinct and powerfully strong smell of
Urinal Cakes. Nice. Ladies if you’re not familiar with that particular odor, ask the guy next to you.
Silver Lining: hmmm. Maybe you can come up with an upside to that one. I’m stumped.
Item:
The walls have ears… and mouths. You think you’ve experienced thin walls?
We could hear every conversation in detail– from the room down the hall! The ice machine which was in a cove six or seven doors down had visitors continuously throughout our stay and we could hear it all, to the point where I’d try to guess what they were using it for.
The morning we left we were entertained by… one of our neighbors puking their guts up for a good long while (hopefully in their bathrooms).
Silver Lining: I think the puking man gave me an idea on how the urinal cakes in the lobby might be used.
It was like this room came equipped with a realistic, high tech, industrial surround sound system. Cool (or not). Warning: Not for home use.
So there you have it.
I hope that others have a better experience, but as for me… I’m out.

I stayed in Room 161. Checked in July 31 2015 and checking out tomorrow August 4 2015. This place is poorly managed. Internet access is virtually nonexistent. When I checked in the connection was slow but the hotel was crowded and I thought it was just over taxed because there were lots of kids. The next morning the signal just kept dropping. Went to the front desk, had to bring up my laptop to show them that I knew how to connect, they had me connect to their main line which I told them was not visible from my room. They told me the connection would hold when I returned to my room, but it didn’t. I only saw the booster networks. Walked back to the front desk. They tried to reset the routers. Told me to wait 20 minutes and try again. Still didn’t work. Went back to front desk. They told me they needed to inform their internet service and I needed to stay in the room. Had to attend to my business and returned at night. Service still not available. In the morning, went back to front desk and explained the previous day’s events. Front desk lady said she would call the IT service and I should wait in my room. After 30 minutes I went back to the front desk. She still hadn’t called. Told me she would. Waited another hour and then had to leave. Returned to the hotel at night. Still no access. I complained and the new front desk lady said — well, you are the only one complaining. Ouch. Asked her to call the IT service. She wanted me to move to another room (at 11 pm and after 3 days!) The IT service finally called but couldn’t solve the problem. Hardware issue and told me they needed to visit the hotel. Next morning, even the lobby internet was down. It is fixed tonight but the signal still keeps dropping. I’ve already spent 3 hours trying to «fix» their internet connection.
So that was really annoying but some other stupid things are:
1. The front desk phone is always busy. Hard to get a wakeup call.
2. Tried the hard boiled eggs at breakfast, and they were hard and sour. Yuc!
3. Two days ago they didn’t give us any soap and today they completely forgot to make up our room!
4. The valence has 7 big water stains on it.
5. They never changed the sheets. I know this because there is a blood stain on the side that was there from day 1 (yes, I know, gross and I am sleeping with clothes on).
6. The bed is super hard and the pillows are not a normal size — they are small squares.
7. You can hear everything in the hallway even with the loud AC on.
8. The fitness center is a joke. There is a treadmill, elliptical, bike and a few weights. Everything was broken.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY 9. No one ever said sorry for the inconveniences.
The room is spacious and generally, the people who work here are nice — but there is obviously a management problem here. Why didn’t I leave? I don’t know. I prepaid and my schedule was very hectic — just didn’t have the time. BUT IF YOU CAN AVOID THIS PLACE, YOU SHOULD!

My dad and brother stayed for 4 days and my husband and kids stayed for our last night there. This place was beautiful, and quiet. The staff was AMAZING and the prices were perfect. The rooms were spacious and very clean.

A big shout-​out to the manager and assistant manager at Quality Inn! My credit card was fully refunded without a hitch even though I got my hotel reservations mixed up during BU’s move-​in weekend with my freshman son. Thanks Quality Inn for giving Quality Customer Service in time of need. Next time, I’ll stay with you!

So we stayed here in the middle of March 2014 & the room had no heat. They no-​charged the room & said that on our next trip they would give us a good deal if we would try them again. Soooo now is the time for the return trip & all is forgotten on their end. Called this morning & was told I would get a call back after talking with the Manager. I called back this afternoon after no call back this morning & was quoted a «Special Price» which was higher than the Internet Price. Huh ??? Customer Service ??? At this point I am No ‘Raving Fan”. I was then flipped over to the Assistant GM’s voice mail to leave another message. Wonder if I will get a call back before we head to Vestal for our stay this weekend ??? Now I am really curious… Truly a «No Return» experience now. It took a day + for a call back. No offer of adjustment so it is obvious that Customers are not the focus at this Property. Stay away …

If you can, go elsewhere. It smells badly. We complained — smells like smoke and the sheets were wet.
The next room was better… After we went to Wegmans and purchased room freshener.

This hotel is located directly across from Binghamton University which may explain why it is nicer than many choice hotels I have experienced.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and clean. The bedding was updated with sheets and duvet cover (no gross coverlets here). The bathrooms were a bit small and awkward, but nothing unusual for a hotel like this. The breakfast in the morning was more than adequate.
The hotel features an outdoor pool and free wifi which was nice. I would stay here again.

We stayed here on our way home from the Jersey shore. Very nice hotel, very clean & the room was huge. Staff was very pleasant & the outdoor pool & breakfast were great additions. Would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I have stayed here several times. It has been renovated and the inside looks much better than outside. The rooms are large with comfy beds. There are four pillows of two different fluffs. There’s the down comforter with two sheets to protect it’s all white surface. There’s a small frig and a microwave. The flat screen tv gets 2 hbo channels which are complimentary. The shower head is nice with a few settings. The heat works well and is controlled by a thermostat on the wall. It’s quiet and comfortable with a nice staff. They keep it clean and it’s all smoke free. The continental breakfast includes scrambled eggs, sausage (rotating with ham on other day), waffle maker, and the normal stuff like oatmeal packets, 2 cold cereal choices, Danish, bagels, bread for toast, yogurt, apples. Orange or apple juice. The only thing I find off at this hotel is the breakfast room hostess who can seem all up in your business. It’s close to the highway with lots of nearby shopping and restaurants as well as a theater.

Stayed here while on a college tour with my daughter. The hotel was just renovated although the renovations for the bar and the fitness center were not complete.
Price was good (includes continental breakfast and wi-​fi). Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff was courteous and professional. I would definitely stay here again.

When I arrived, they were turning people away (who had made reservations), and sending them to the Holiday Inn because they had «over-​booked.» Had I known what a disaster this hotel was (for the amount I paid), I would have volunteered to go to the Holiday Inn.
I reserved a room with a king-​sized bed, but got a room with two twin-​sized. When I called the front desk to inform them of the error, the hotel personnel told me that was all they had left, and I was stuck with it. I was never informed of this prior to my arrival. Had I been, I would have made alternate arrangements.
The light on the night-​stand between the beds did not work, so the only light in the room was the desk-​light. I called this in to the front desk, and the light was repaired the following day.
The hallways in the hotel seem dingy, and poorly lit. I received a handicapped-​accessible room, which was kind of odd for me, since I am not handicapped. This added to the unsatisfactory nature of the room.
Considering the amount I paid to stay at the Quality Inn, and since I didn’t receive what I had paid for, I doubt I will return.
