Silverado Salvage and Design is a unique and special experience where we house architectural salvage items with a complete in house design team. We also offer our gorgeous warehouse for site rental for events, photography, and film.

We carry antiques, doors, windows, iron gates, lights, hardware, salvaged materials and beautiful salvaged wood pieces and more. Taking these components we can create and make custom and one of kind furniture, décor, home projects & renovation, for both home and commercial projects. We love things with history and a story and so much better to live around things that breath of age and wisdom.

We have antiques, farm tables, custom wood tables, barn doors, metal tins, and sliding doors are just to name a few of the treasure trove of items in our warehouse. Please come visit our team, whether you are just looking for a few items for your own projects, to browse, or have a vision of something you wish to create; we are here to help.

History

Established in 1990.

We have developed our clientele and unique business by catering to the collection and repuposing of architectural salvage components, and turning them into one of a kind expressions of our customers ideas.

We opened a 16,000 sq. foot warehouse in Vernon, CA in 2012 on the second floor of creative loft in a fabulous 1920’s warehouse, complete with a pull down freight elevator door, sky lights, old wood floors and clean modern restrooms and offices!

In our new warehouse we have taken our design /​repurposing business to another level with two very talented custom carpenters and several welding partnerships. These artisans and our shop is located on site, and Jeff works personally with our clients to create the project designs with the fabrication team going to work turning the designs into real life products at great quality and good value!

Business Owner

Jeff is a retail veteran, turned entrepreneur for the past 23 years. Jeff started his business adventure with Neiman Marcus as buyer for Oxxford Suits and several other fashion categories in their mens division. He created some successful programs and caught the eye of Senior management with upscale specialty retail icon Bonwit Teller in New York and he was recruited to be Vice President General Manager of the Bonwit Teller Flagship store in Trump Tower (57th and 5th Ave) in Manhattan!

At both Neiman Marcus and Bonwit Teller he gravitated to the visual design, store construction, and shop development side of the business as well as his retail duties. With the visual passion came the love of design and our eventual new business model here in the Los Angeles marketplace!

In 2012 Jeff opened his dream design business in a second floor creative loft in a 1920’s industrial building in Vernon, CA ! A huge inventory was accumulated, a great team assembled and his vision is now open!

Jeff, and the crew at this shop are as helpful as it gets. They had a shoe rack rush made for me in 2 days no questions asked. They really pride themselves in their work. Ive picked up numerous planks from here for projects. This spot is a hidden gem for sure. I will always come back to these guys to get things made for my place.

Bought a Vintage Door here to make into a Headboard, not only is there a great selection of doors to choose from, Jeff and Dennis are experienced designers and builders so I got some practical and useful advice and building ideas, from that I was able to get all the wood I needed for the frame and even added vintage lights to the ends of the headboard ! The complete package ! I like well built things and with the effort of Silverado’s Staff was able to get what I needed and then some, I have extensive woodworking and restoration experience, so for this project I did the assembly myself, however after some time with Jeff and his staff I am confident that this team is very capable in both design and building and would trust them to to as well as of even better work then myself ! Overall from one pro to another. Salute !

I can’t say enough good things about Jeff and his team at Silverado. They were of the utmost help during every stage of the project from ideation, to choosing the materials to the eventual installation. Top quality work at a fantastic value.
The guys at Silverado helped my wife and I build a floor to ceiling headboard for our new bed. Jeff suggested we use a specific wood they have available with smoky gray streaks in it. This wood is super unique. The gray streaks come from smoke that was absorbed by the wood during forrest fires in Northern California. Creates a really cool look.
If you’re looking to create some unique pieces without breaking the bank try these guys out. They won’t disappoint.

Jeff and Dennis are absolutely the best in the business. They have unique wood, salvaged pieces that are impossible to find elsewhere, but most important, design skill.
We came with ideas and they transformed them into reality. I felt so strong about the pieces, that I invited them to my house warming party! My guests were commenting on his work the entire time.
The wood was salvaged from a forest fire in Sierra Nevada. The crates were from the 1940’s, and used to ship Russian gas masks. The table has a base that was custom welded from an old rusted ladder; We have the most unique furniture in the city.
Go to their warehouse and give them an idea of what you want. Tell them I sent you.

Silverado is such a magical place to find unique antiques but, they don’t stop there. Jeff is the manager of this store I can’t begin to tell you how talented he and his team are. We had almost every piece if our furniture custom built by the team at Silverado. If you need anything custom made this is the place to go.
We had our dining room table made (legs were from a 1920s ladder), wooden bench, back of fire place, desk and built in shelving. All from these guys. I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

This place is amazing! I called ahead and made an appointment with Jeff since we had to drive from Riverside but once we arrived I knew immediately it was more than worth it! I remodeled my kitchen and wanted salvaged barnwood open shelving and hood for my range. Jeff and Dennis are super talented, creative and passionate about what they do. They were able to see my vision and piece together everything perfectly. I couldnt be happier with the finished product. The pieces they made me were beautiful and did not lack quality or functionality. I’m looking forward to our next project!

what a gem in the heart of dtla! tons of unexpected treasures waiting to be discovered. I was going there in searching for wood to build a dining table, but I found something 100x better with the help of a friendly and knowledgeable associate Richard. I didn’t have time to explore the entire place, but I have already put something on hold and will pick it up soon. I will finish my exploration when I go pick up the treasure!

We discovered Silverado Salvage about a year ago and waited for an excuse to be able to work with them. Recently, we were renovating a bathroom and wanted a custom vanity made of reclaimed wood. We presented our design to Jeff and team, picked our wood and before we knew it (and way before the expected due date!!) our final piece was done and it was even more beautiful than we could have imagined it. Throughout the process Jeff was very attentive. He even called us directly during a meeting with his welder to discuss measurements of our steel work so that he can get that just right. He was approachable and always followed up with updates. In addition, the price was unmatchable. Before going to Silverado we looked in stores and on Etsy and we couldn’t find anything that was both within our budget and beautiful at the same time. We will definitely work with Jeff and his team again! I highly recommend for anyone to work with Solverado Salvage & Design.

Customer service is unmatched! We worked with Silverado (primarily Jeff and Dennis) on cabinet door handles, a floating desk, and shelves to span one wall in our living room. They also made custom cabinet doors for a media center in an adjacent room and an outdoor mailbox. From start to finish, they were a pleasure to work with. Jeff visited our home several times and got to know us and our kids. He was truly invested in the project and took personal pride in making sure we were happy. When a few elements of the work turned out differently than we imagined, Jeff and Dennis came over right away to fix them. We get compliments constantly and every time refer people right back to Silverado. As a bonus — the showroom is a treat to visit — so many treasures and unique items, all organized beautifully. This is a great salvage store! I was visiting my Mom from Las Vegas and we stopped here. We don’t have salvage places in Vegas, so this was a wonderful stop for me! I was able to find what I needed and the prices were very reasonable. This will be one of my regular stops when I come to LA!

I met these fine group of guys at the Long Beach flea market and decided to visit their warehouse and I was not disappointed in the amount of material that they have available. The prices on the wood I was looking for was pretty low and the manager and his crew were very helpful and even gave me some pointers with the project I’m working on. I’ll definitely be going back since they get new stock of material on a regular basis.

I’ve been here before and had a pleasant, fair experience. Unfortunately, my visit today was so awful that I had to warn future customers to steer clear of Silverado Salvage and Design.
I was searching for some reclaimed wood to build a 4’x4’ wall feature to tie together some of our mis-​matched picture frames throughout our living space. I was looking specifically for some different colors and textures but we found some scrap 2x6s that were cut into 4′ sections that would be perfect. A little rough around the edges, some splits and splinters, and couple knot holes, and a few rusty nails, but with some TLC, fit for the project. Now, my experience has been previously that the prices are fair… not this time.
The guy working looked at a similar 10′-12′ piece of wood (albeit in much better condition) marked $ 6/​linear foot… and then quoted me $ 8/​linear foot for the scraps. An absurd asking price. The wood was barely in better shape than the $ 1/​ft mix and match scrap wood in the next room. I was so grossly offended by this outrageous quote that I left immediately.
My wife is a designer and I am a builder and we like to use as much reclaimed and repurposed materials as possible. We value the history and age that comes with architectural salvage because we recognize the detail and quality of the building that came before us and try to incorporate period materials wherever possible.
This is a warehouse, not a showroom. The prices should reflect the quality and condition of the materials, not the value of a finished product after my labor. The salespeople should understand how to value materials properly that are not already priced and make a fair assessment.
I won’t be back.

If I could give Salverado Salvage and Design 10 stars I would! I went there today and cannot say enough wonderful things about this place and Jeff the owner. From the moment I walked in I was greeted warmly by Richard, without any pressure, attitude or disregard, something I’ve experienced at other salvage businesses. All the employees were lovely.
And, ooooh, the vast collection of goodies… gorgeous woods, windows, tin, knick knacks, hardware, lighting, unique treasures that will make you drool, etc. I’m an assemblage artist and did face plants in all the $ 1 Buck Bins which I pretty much cleaned out. Time for new Buck Bin inventory, Jeff! I collected a pile of things I was interested in and Jeff made a very fair deal for the lot. Jeff is also building me a box out of some fantastic salvaged wood, so keep in mind that they can build anything you can imagine… cabinetry, furniture, frames, tables. There was a beautiful credenza being made with two stained glass windows. A stunner!
This is the type of salvage treasure I’ve been looking for for years. Incredibly well curated finds and the nicest people ever. My only hesitation in writing this glowing review is that I’m letting the cat out of the bag but a business this good is worth it! Enjoy the hunt. I know you will!!!

Large variety of stuff! I went in there for some windows to use as décor for a wedding. Jeff (the owner) greeted us and was extremely helpful. Not only did he help us find what we were looking for, but was able to work around my budget. I definitely recommend this place. Their items are great, and their customer service is even better.

Silverado Salvage and Design is like Disneyland to me! Their wood is amazing, they have so much and at such a fair cost. If you can, find Dennis. He cut the wood to perfection which made my job way easier. Everyone is great there though, they answerd all my questions as this was my first project. They even have a nice clean room where we had lunch to take a break. I strongly recommend you go check it out, it is amazing!!!
