Staff was great. Food tasted very fresh and prices were reasonable. Will definitely be coming back on my next weekday off.

The Greek here is legit, delicious, and is by far the best I’ve had in Los Angeles. I’d go so far as to say it’s worth driving to Vernon to get at this. BZ Grill in Astoria Queens is still my top pick for skewers/gyros but Alexander’s gets within hailing range at least. But Astoria a historic enclave of Greeks smack dab in the greatest concentration of ethnic foods in the country. This is VERNON. If you are anywhere close to here, do yourself a favor and give them a shot. Tried: lamb skewers, fasolia, spanakopita, pork pita. Parking is a pain during weekday lunch.

I came here randomly after volunteering at the LA Food Bank. I thought it would just be okay because of the area it’s in and woah, this food is incredible. It was probably the best Greek food I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten all over LA and eat Greek once a week. I’m shocked — why aren’t there more of these places?!! It’s fresh, I got the chicken plate and it’s a lot of food but very tasty. Definitely go if you’re in the area.

I’m in town working around the corner in the middle of the industrial area with no clue where anything other than fast food was and WOW!!! Pleasantly surprised with the yummy spanikopita… Can’t wait to go back tomorrow for lemon potatoes and chicken skewers

In the midst of all the weird smells and bleak streets. Alexander’s Greek Kitchen is like a hidden oasis with great tasting food for your taste buds. It’s a tiny restaraunt that has great people serving you. I’ve only tried the chicken pita and it was fulfilling! Please support your local businesses and DONOT go to corporate McDonald’s across the street.

Went here for the first time today based off the Unilocal reviews. Ordered the Greek Salad with Lamb($ 11) and it was very tasty! Super filling too. I couldn’t finish it. The dressings they give you with them are excellent. Service is really friendly, and they offer convenient ordering via Eat 24. Only con would be it’s located in a corner strip mall with limited parking, but I’ll definitely be back! A nice gem in Vernon.

I’ve been meaning to go to Alexander’s since I read an article raving about this place. Sadly, they close way early! Finally, I got out of work early and took advantage and went. There’s plenty of parking and the restaurant is not that big, but what’s important is the food. I ordered the chicken skewer plate, it includes 3 chicken skewers, I chose rice(between fries and rice), pita bread, and a side salad. Food was amazing. Everything was so tasty! The salad was great and I’ve had authentic greek food! I highly recommend it! The place is $ 12 but it’s so worth it! I will definitely find time to go back.

I have worked in this area for 2.5 years and today was my first time at this little gem. I’m sad that I haven’t tried it sooner, but I’m so glad I tried it today! It was amazingly good. I got the chicken skewers which were very juicy, flavorful and delicious. The pita bread was so fresh and soft. And then to top it off… their side salad with the house dressing… Killer! I will definitely be back!

I came here for lunch. First of all, parking is terrible. Aside from that, I was recommended the pork or chicken gyro. I opted for the pork gyro($ 7.86). It’s basically a pita wrapped with pork, onions, and some special white sauce topped with fries. It can be a bit difficult to eat that I had to use a fork. It’s good and filling but just not something I’m crazy about. For a lunch spot in Vernon, it’s good.

How come no one told me about this place? Esp. when I’ve been working around the area for 2+ years now! I’m so glad we found this restaurant through Unilocal. For lunch the food here was delicious! Greek. Check. Mediterranean food craving. Check. Chicken Pita(gyro) — Hit the spot. Pita was nice n hot. Tzatziki was on point. Chicken wasn’t dry. Just perfect… Dolmadakia —(Grape leaves thats stuffed with rice & herbs) This was great too. One of the better ones I’ve had. The fries taste like in-n-out fries! Freshly cut and fried. Love it. Prices are reasonable. Def. come here again for lunch! The downside is this plaza is always so packed! Difficult to find parking during peak lunch hours, but maybe you’ll get lucky and find one right away.

Wow, not bad at all! I didn’t expect too much especially because I haven’t had much experience with Greek food. But this restaurant was a pleasant surprise. I had lamb skewers, which were really good. They remind me of Chinese lamb skewers, haha but the meat is cut differently. Also tried the Greek salad. Which the owner said it’s a more classic Greek salad and doesn’t have any leafy vegetables. It actually only consists of cucumber, feta cheese, tomato, onions, olive, etc, but no leafy lettuce or anything. The only dressing is vinegar and some olive oil, and it was so good! So simple, yet really delicious. I also had the chicken gyro, like a Greek taco I suppose? Good as well. Sauce seemed like a yogurt sort of sauce, but very flavorful and the bread that the meat is wrapped in is to die for. Overall very pleased, will come back to try other things.

Came by because I was so curious for lunch. Like the vibe. Like that its not your cheesy typical Greek spot. The lamb skewers were good. Not a big Souvlaki. I Really liked the tyrokafteri. The pork gyro was way too lemoney. The Greek salad was meh. Would I come back? Yes. It’s About Time Vernon had a change in food.

Yeah… 5 stars… what about it… ? You talking to me ?? YOU talking to me ?? Went there for lunch today since my work buddy was all foaming at the mouth the last month or so. I mean he’s foaming, right? I had to follow him there ! Now I’m foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog. INFECTED with the love for the food at Alexanders !! I had the Pork Gyro and Potatoes. WOW… the pork was unbelievable. I still don’t believe it. I feel guilty about it. Pork is the other white meat sure… but this is the BEST white meat ! I’m going there every week until I die… or until they run out of Pork. Hey… they’re about 200 yards from the Farmer Johns pig factory… NOT running out of pork anytime soon !

Today after work I went to Alexander’s Greek Kitchen just across the street from Farmer John. A friend of mine recommend this restaurant to me. So I gave it a try. The Greek food was good especially the Gyro that I ordered. The Kabobs and other Greek foods look really good too. At the restaurant I order the chicken Gyro. I didn’t know what to expect I’ve tried other Greek restaurants that were very good. I was skeptical about this restaurant but my friend told me that the food is really good. I got my food then I went home couldn’t wait to taste my Gyro. I said to myself wow it’s big for a Gyro, then I took a bite. This is one of the best Gyro I ever tasted the pita bread was nicely toasted, they put plenty of Greek yogurt sauce and it even had fries inside. This is the first time someone added fries in a Gyro amazing, the chicken was delicious with lots of flavor. Overall Alexander’s Greek Kitchen is great but it’s a small restaurant but many people go there to eat. Next I have try the lamb.

Was stoked when a small Greek family run fast causal spot opened up in Vernon. The concept is well thought out and a nice combination of old school family cooking in a modern hip and high touch restaurant. Perfect for a weekday lunch, easy to go/delivery or sit in one of the 14 seats there. Gets 5 stats for the service and more importantly, my favorite Greek salad.

My first tip: if you come here, come for the pitas, not for the salads! They are much more satisfying and filling. Pricing: Most items on the menu fall between the price range $ 7 — 12, which isn’t bad considering it’s Greek food. I love that Greek food offers a balance between vegetables, carbs, and proteins. Seating: The place is small and packed, so it’s hard to find seating unless you happen to arrive during the nonpeak hours. Parking: Remember to get here earlier than the normal lunch rush hour(12pm) because parking becomes a pain. Located in the central location of restaurants in Vernon, we all know that all Vernon workers come here during lunch for a fresh bite. Service: Most of the cashiers and servers here are all young, friendly males who are very attentive. They check up on you to make sure you are satisfied with your order. Food: I ordered the Lamb Greek Salad($ 8 for the salad and $ 3 extra for the lamb) for my first time here and I can’t say much because I’m not a huge salad person. Plus, a salad is a salad. But it was a generous portion and the lamb really did make my salad that much better. Considering my salads need to be flavorful in order to satisfy my taste buds, greek salads are more bland for my taste, which might be the reason why I didn’t enjoy my salad too much. My coworkers ordered the pitas($ 7 — $ 8) which looked much more appetizing than my salad.

Best Greek food in LA. The chicken skewers were to die for, and the pita was out of this world. All the sodas come in glass bottles, which makes them taste way better in my opinion. Great work guys, I 100% recommend Alexander’s if you’re in the DTLA area. Plus they deliver!

Good eats are limited in the city of Vernon so its always a treat to find something edible in this industrial area. Alexanders Greek Kitchen is a great place to grab a good bite to eat. The place itself is very small with only about 4 tables if you come here anytime after 12 p.m. expect to wait a long time for a table, take out is highly recommended as is calling in your order ahead of time. Like I said previously good eats are rare in this city so when a new restaurant opens up it gets flooded with new curious foodies. Parking in this lot is HORRIBLE it seems its gotten worst in the recent months, I would leave at least 10 minutes early for lunch to avoid a full parking lot here by 12 but it seems its full now even before then. Now on to the good stuff, the food is great! I’ve ordered the pork plate and the chicken plates. For $ 12 you get a plate full of pork or chicken over fries, fluffy pita bread, side of greek salad, and some sauces. These servings are definitely enough for two people as a light lunch and considering the price I say thats a good thing. Service here is fantastic and the gentleman charging customers is always quick to answer any questions you may have about the greek food here. I’m glad there is another food option here in Vernon.
