History

Established in 1886.

William Thybony, a Swedish immigrant who came to America in 1886, opened his first paint store on the North side of Chicago. Four generations later, Thybony Paint, Wallpaper, Blinds & Design has become a leading retailer of fine wallpapers and window fashions in the northern suburbs. We are also a primary supplier of paint and supplies to commercial and industrial contractors as well as residential customers.

Thybony still remains a family organization, currently run by its fourth generation owner, Chris N. Larsen.

For 130 years our goals have remained the same: To provide the very best customer service, top quality products and expert advice to our customers!

We’ve learned a lot about decorating since 1886! Our talented staff knows the business, from conception and design to delivery and installation. Customer satisfaction has always been and will continue to be our number one priority!
