Margie and Brian were extremely helpful. I called Fireplace Plus to find out about ordering a new universal F45 remote control battery compartment for my Napoleon Fireplace. Margie not only called me to explain the different parts I was requesting, l but she also called the manufacturer «Napoleon to find out it they had the parts. A coupe of days later I called her back and told her that now the wireless receiver switch broke and once again Marge checked on the parts for me. When I called Marge back about ordering a whole new kit, she put me in touch with Brian who researched the different types of remote controls available for my fireplace and called me back to explain the different types of remote control that would work with the fireplace log set. Outstanding service in responding to my questions.

We have used this location several times, we have been doing business for 18 years and they are the best in the area. We just had two fireplaces put in they worked well with the contractors
and they delivered everything on time and in great working order. The owner came to our new home to check everything and make sure I knew how to use the remotes. Thank you Neal Great Job. Joe M

I love to barbecue, specifically smoking. I had been looking to take the next step in grills and had been shopping around for a Big Green Egg. I looked around for quite a while and finally found Fireplaces Plus up in Vernon Hills not too far from my house. I was able to find an Xtra Large Big Green Egg at their store, although it’s a very expensive product, they gave me a fair price on the whole package. The sales guy was helpful. Deliver was as promised. I had a warranty issue on a plate setter and the owner/​dealer took care of it for me without a problem. Overall, it was a great experience and I really like my Egg.

We have been extremely satisfied customers of Fireplaces Plus, they have bend over backwards to help us when needed and they have a wonderful men to clean our Solitaire Grill when we ask for Mike to come. Margie was the one that has made the arrangements and I can only say they made sure that the problem was solved to our satisfaction.

We have been doing business with Firepaces Plus for over 7 years. We bought our log kits, automatic starters and screens all from them. They have a fabulous selection, with fair prices. Recently one of our automatic starters was not working in one fireplace and the other fireplace was just not working at all. They sent someone to fix it and he was able to fix the starter in the one and the other was just that the pilot light was out which they lit. There was concern about the burner pan so the owner, Neal came out to check on it. He said everything was fine. There was no additional service charge for his trip. He just wanted to make sure all was well. I was very pleased with my experience and would highly recommend them.

This company was awful, the owners was a bad person his name is Onieu, you better pay him either you sacrificed or not cause he will threatening to lend over your house and called his attorney to make you paid. He’s an nightmare person I ever meet in life.

This company’s support services are very disorganized. Poor communication and weak follow through before and after the $ 150 aervice call. We have used them twice and will not use them again.

A very good experience replacing an unsafe ventless unit from the floor up. Neal came, made some suggestions; no high pressure. We visited the store to get some ideas and Neal’s second visit clarified our thinking. Delivery was well within the window he gave us and installation by Dan and Kevin was clean and well-​done, as was the taping and drywall finishing Juan did. Communication and scheduling were excellent throughout the process and Neal and his people dealt very well with problems encountered in removing the old granite mantel. Neal checked back regularly to make sure everything was satisfactory. We are very pleased with the product and equally with the service.

We had our old fireplace updated, it was so easy, Neal, the owner of of the store came out and showed the finishes and mantel choices, that was a free estimate and he made the appointment at our convenience, we are early riser’s so 7:00am am was no problem and didn’t need to take off work. He measured and ordered products. Within the month we had both installed. Rich the installer came in and did the install with his assistant Codie, they did a wonderful job and left the area so clean. Our son is buying a house we already know we’ll be seeing Neal again to update his fireplace.

I found the manager to be extremely rude when dealing with a service issue. He claimed he explained something to me prior to the service call which would have eliminated the need for the call but he did not. Why would I not avoid a service call if I could??? The service call fee starts at $ 150 before any work is performed. I find this amount to be considerably higher than any other household service or repair. He also stated he has to explain this charge to customers 20 times a day. Well then obviously something is wrong there. However I can say that the technician that came out to the house was wonderful.

Fast, efficient service, great value (I did my research) and honest! I had another fireplace company at my house and was told that I needed a $ 7,000 relining of my flu because it was cracked. They said a gas fireplace was no good because it would leak co2. Neil showed me that the photos they took were not even of m fireplace, wrong color brick and I had not noticed. He installed a gas fire log set. It works perfectly, no mess… and no co2 leak.

Let me state I am a very demanding home owner who expects perfection when purchasing services or products for the home.
I am very pleased with the service Neil, the owner, provided and the product he recommended.
Neil came to our house and showed us different products and gave us a completely honest answer to all our questions even when it affected the potential sale.
Extremely efficient and knowledgeable is how I would describe him.
He did his best to have it installed before Thanksgiving and our visiting family loved it.
I am currently loving it.
I cannot impress on your strongly enough how honest, efficient and knowledgeable Neil is.
Sure we could have ordered one online, but Neil made this purchase a wonderful turnkey experience with no buyer’s regret.
The only drawback is his staff is not as good as him. But almost all business owners struggle with this. This is the only reason I gave Fireplaces Plus 4 stars instead of 5.
I would recommend Neil and his services to all my friends.

The young man who I spoke to was snooty and rude. He acted like I wasn’t good enough to be in the store. He took only a few minutes to talk to me and tried to dismiss me. I had to ask if he didn’t mind if I look at what they had on display for a few minutes. Needless to say I will purchase elsewhere.

Poor customer service with a bad attitude.

I highly recommend Fireplaces Plus! I have used them to extend a gas line to a wood burning fireplace and their work was excellent! They also installed 3 gas log sets in my 3 fireplaces and installed the remote control mechanism in each as well. They work beautifully and their prices were very reasonable. Last week I called Neil to have someone come up to spruce up the ember material, clean the gas logs and replace all the remote control batteries-​he has someone at my house within 24 hours! Great service, great products and great value.

So far, this has been a great experience. I did some research on fireplace inserts as a way to make my fireplace better looking and more efficient. Afterwards, I looked for fireplace guys in my area and gave them a call. Neil came out a few days later to measure the fireplace and let me know my options. My wife and I already knew we wanted a modern look, so we went with this one shown in the picture.
I was wondering why they charge a delivery fee when places online do not. But when they were delivering it I understood. Places online will drop it off at the curb of your property (not even to the door). These guys brought it inside and installed it (installation was extra). But the unit weights 480 lbs, plus the weight of fireplace bricks to line the unit. So we’re talking about 600 lbs. I don’t know about you, but I’m happy to pay some guys to deal with that. And amazingly, they did not break anything in the house while moving this iron box.
Right away they noticed some brush marks on the unit from shipping and have taken care of contacting the vendor for touch-​up spray paint.
Its this kind of service that makes it worth the extra money

We moved into a home with a gas fireplace and had no idea how to use it. I called to see if they would make a service call to our home and teach me how to use. The friendly person on the phone, said there was no need. Instead, he suggested I take pics and come into the store. When I went in — he showed us how the fireplace worked, how to start it and maintain it. So glad we found this place. We will definitely be using them in the future for all our fireplace maintenance and accessories purchases. They are so nice and knowledgeable!

Fireplaces Plus did 6 fireplaces for us and every one of them turned out beautful! Neal is very easy to work with and his entire focus is on giving great customer service and making the customer happy with the finished product. He recommended andirons, which we did get, and they finished off the fireplaces perfectly. It’s great to work with people that believe in great customer service and they are friendly and engaging, too!
