Came in over the weekend to get some ideas for a new mattress and sofa. Great selection(had to take some pics for my wife who couldn’t come in that day, they were really nice about it, some of the other stores wouldn’t let me?). Also tried out some mattresses while I was there, good selection and they seemed more concerned with what would help us sleep better than emptying my wallet. Have to bring her in yet, but wanted to share some of the pics here, there weren’t a lot to look at before. Will definitely be back, they were nice about me needing to bring her in and they didn’t stalk me throughout the store.

Nothing redeeming about this place. My girlfriend and I were on a hunt for a new living room set and our car GPS pointed us toward Carson Pirie Furniture Gallery. Waste of 25 minutes, the 25 minutes it took us to walk through the store and get ignored by 4 sales people. I guess you would love this store if you were a snob. but to normal folks I would avoid. The layout of the store completely lacks imagination. The furniture is average at best. And the sales staff is terrible. Granted my girlfriend and I were wearing sweat clothes because we came from working out … but really??? One old sales guy literally looked the other way when we passed him. No greeting, no can I help you. totally ignored.

We have made numerous purchases at this store, NEVER again after they way we were treated last weekend by someone who is supposed to be a Store Manager. HORRIBLE customer service and customer retention. We were extremely happy with our salesman who, at every attempt, went above and beyond to make things right. The manager stated«customers get loud.» Maybe sir, you should take a look in the mirror with an attitude like that, and ask yourself«WHY do customers seem to be getting loud with me? Could it be my attitude, or are all customers out to have arguments with me?» We’ve both been in retail, and in our training, the customer is always right. It does not surprise me that the other reviews are as low as they are since the issues seem to be coming from management. I feel for the salespeople trying to make their living.

My husband and I stopped in there a few weeks ago and found a furniture set that we really liked. However, in order to take advantage of their no interest promotion, I needed to get small increase on our credit limit to cover the 2⁄3 we were going to put on the account. So as soon as I got home, I called the number on my credit card statement and spoke with a rep. I told her that were making a «big ticket purchase»(the words the sales rep told me to use) and that I needed a $ 700 increase to cover the purchase. I only requested an increase of $ 700, but I was told that it wasn’t BIG enough. How crazy is that. I was told that they would only approve it if I went to a HIGHER limit. After arguing with her for a few minutes and telling her this didn’t make any sense to me at all, she put me on hold, and when she came back on the line, told me my limit was increased by the $ 700 that I originally asked for. We went back into the furniture store and we ordered the set and gave the sales rep a check for approx. $ 650 to place the order. About a week after the order was placed, I received a letter in the mail telling me that my request for an increase was declined. How convenient after we already put down a non-refundable deposit! My husband and I both have excellent credit, so this is crazy. I called Carson’s and immediately cancelled my credit card account. We’ll pay the balance in cash, but I will never buy another thing from Carson’s again and I plan on telling everyone about their crappy business practices.

We stopped in here looking for a chair, bench and lamps. They have pretty nice stuff but not a lot to choose from. The chairs were nice but they always had a catch like a powered recliner or the chair transitioned into a bed. Just looking for a chair.
