The Wild Traveler provides amazing summer teen tours. Sign up today for our 17 day Hawaii /​Kauai teen tour. We’ll hike Volcanoes National Park, get SCUBA certified, learn how to surf, kayak down jungle rivers, hike the Na Pali Coast, and volunteer on a service project with a local non profit. While we are on the islands, we will also visit Hawaii’s best beaches, nicest waterfalls, as well as Hawaii’s most important historical landmarks — ancient temples, a «city of refuge», the naha stone, and so much more! No experience required.

History

Established in 2009.

Thank you for your interest in The Wild Traveler’s teen tours. The Wild Traveler provides overnight teen tours to amazing places in Hawaii /​Kauai, Costa Rica /​Panama, and Washington State. After 10 years of working for a variety of outdoor education, environmental education, and teen adventure companies, we opted to create a higher quality adventure program at a more affordable price. In 2009 we started «The Wild Traveler» and that following summer, led our flagship 17 day summer teen tour to the islands of Hawaii.

Meet the Business Owner

Ryan L.

Business Owner

Ryan Lofgren grew up in the Pacific Northwest just south of Seattle. He graduated from Western Washington University majoring in environmental education. Over the last 12 years Ryan has worked with thousands of kids on over a hundred outdoor programs throughout Washington, Oregon, California, and Hawaii. He experienced the invaluable lessons from travel as a teen and strives to recreate these experiences for teenagers with The Wild Traveler. In his free time Ryan goes on his own adventures most recently taking 5 weeks to travel overland through Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. His favorite activities include SCUBA diving, cooking, surfing, watching movies, rock climbing, and jammin out on his ukulele. During the off season Ryan works for the leading environmental education company in California, where he designs and leads outdoor education programs for schools. Ryan currently lives in Ventura, California where he coordinates and leads summer teen tours with The Wild Traveler.
