At McConnell’s we specialize in creating happiness quite honestly. For over 60 years our family’s business hand-makes all-natural, micro-batch ice creams, sherbets, sorbets and now yogurts.
We use local ingredients whenever possible (we consider ourselves «Localvors») like Chase Brothers creams, strawberries from the Oxnard plains, and so on.
Our yogurts match our ice creams in hand select ingredients, freshness and contain more live active ‘probiotic’ cultures than any other brand. Enjoy.
History
Established in 1949.
McConnell’s was started in 1949 in Santa Barbara, California, by Gordon «Mac» McConnell. Mac, a decorated WWII pilot, was seeking a healthy and happy profession after the war and having fallen in love with the finest artisan ice creams in Europe he chose his now legendary profession.
We still use Mac’s original recipes in many of our rich, all-natural ice creams.

Hi. I’m Jimmy the «Ice Cream & Yogurt Guy».
Our family has owned McConnell’s since 1962 when I was just a wee lass.
While I have helped invent sunglasses, have sold healthcare information systems and managed collegiate trademarks my true love has always been our family’s super premium ice cream business… so I hopped onboard full time in 1994. I eventually ran the corporation for about a decade before we decided to start opening more McConnell’s ice cream and yogurt shops. So… here we are in Ventura, where I now live with my wonderful family, growing our Main Street shop with plans to open many, many more!
