Fast turn around, overnight service (depending on parts availability). Weekdays, drop off and pick ups 6−8pm. By appointment only. No exceptions. Text to make an appointment and wait for confirmation. We are unable to accept walk-​ins.

Mtb/​road bicycle tune ups, service, parts installation, complete builds, vintage restoration, mountain bike suspension, hydraulics (brakes & seat posts), wheel building and crash repair. We also install bolt-​on trailer hitches for racks.

Repair, maintenance and parts. No bike sales.

Established in 2004.

West LA Bicycle is an artisan service and repair workshop for bicycles specializing in suspension, hydraulic brakes and seat posts, vintage restoration, tune ups and wheel building. Found him on forum, a bit of a drive from my place, but worth it. He built me a LB wide carbon wheelset, great result so far.
Communication is excellent through out the process, learnt some knowlege too. Got my wheels in less than 1 week so I can still ride on weekend. Good price too.
I was thinking to use Jenson or Incycle to build my set, but I would not be able to communicate with the mechanic directly. So I tried Bing, he built them himself.

I found Bing on a forum and enlisted his help repairing a Rockshox Reverb dropper post that was in pretty bad shape. He had me back up and running in a few days. He is a great communicator and keeps you in the loop the entire duration of the repair. With Bing you’ll know how much the repair will cost before he does it, and there will be no surprises. The post is back on my Giant Anthem X and working well. He also services suspension forks and rear suspension. Great prices and best part is you don’t have to ship it back to the manufacturer and be without the bike for a few days. I recommend checking him out if you are in the area. Thanks Bing.

These reviews are true!!! I met up with Bing yesterday and within 30 minutes he had made all of my brake adjustments and even educated me on how to make the adjustments myself in the future! Super mellow guy, honest, and without all the attitude attached to the cycling world. Very reasonably priced and a quick turn-​around. This guy was super helpful! Quick response, worked on my bike right when I got there. He definitely knows what he is doing and seems passionate about bikes. Great location for anyone in Venice plus much more reasonable prices than some of the other places nearby. Definitely recommend him!

Bing is awesome. Brought my electric bike into him because could not figure out how the battery pack worked (it was shipped from Denmark). He was honest and straightforward and figured it out quickly.

Bing built a set of wheels for me and did a great job. Fast turnaround, reasonable price. The wheels have stayed true. He is very knowledgeable and professional. Sadly I’m not very ‘mechanically inclined’ and it’s great to have someone with this level of expertise available to install components I buy from online dealers and eBay. I will be using Bing for additional work on my bikes!

LEGIT. Bing is a cool and honest mechanic.
I found Bing on Unilocal and called him to inquire about repairing my broken RockShox fork suspension. He was easy to reach and easy to communicate with. He was quick to send me details and a quote over email. My fork was completely rebuilt one1 day after the parts had arrived. He spent the time to talk to me about the fork and gave me some tips on adjusting it. I’ve gone on several rides now after the repair and the fork feels great.
Nothing beats having a passionate and honest mechanic. The repair on my fork is guaranteed for 1 month!

Such great work on my beloved machine; it rolls like brand-​new again. I was so happy to find this business because a retail bike shop won’t do this kind of work, meaning a careful and comprehensive overhaul, for whatever reason. Bing is a skilled mechanic, and he went over my bicycle with a fine-​tooth comb, finding everything that needed work. He also didn’t up-​sell me on repairs I didn’t need, for which I am grateful.

Strongly recommend the shop for overall bike repairs and tune-​ups. I had an older mountain bike I wanted to get back in action without spending more than the bike was worth. Within an hour, he had gone through the whole bike with a complete estimate of repairs, and had my bike completely finished and running well by the next morning, sticking within my tight budget. In addition to recommendations for my bike in the future, he also had great input on more advanced bikes to consider down the road. If anything else comes up with my bike, I look forward to visiting again!

Highly recommend West LA Bicycle as an alternative to a bike shop. Before dropping off my road bike for a pre-​tri tune up, I didn’t realize that this wasn’t a store. However, Bing was very accommodating with his schedule, kept me informed once he had a chance to look at my bike, and had it ready within 24 hours. Considering the repairs that he made, I actually paid less than I would have at a local shop. I’m very satisfied with his work, my bike shifts cleanly and it hasn’t ridden that way in years.

I recently brought a fixie/​single speed bike that I had purchased from someone to Bing to tune up and get into good working order. He made my bike like new by fixing a bunch of small problems with it. Great service and very helpful! I would definitely bring my bike back to Bing!
