History

Established in 1956.

Groups of artists started art shows beginning in 1956 and had several different names such as Venice-​Nokomis Art Association and Venice Area Art League. The actual Venice Art Center building itself was opened on March 31^st, 1968 and has been one of the many jewels in the crown of Venice ever since. The building underwent major restoration and expansion in 1997 and there is plans for yet another expansion in 2016.
