Welcome to the Back Eddy Bistro

In 2008, Chef Ed Glennon and his wife Allyson fell in love with downtown Venice, choosing it as as the perfect spot to open their restaurant, The Back Eddy Bistro.

The Glennons grew up in the Hamptons, where fishing and farming are major commercial industries. This atmosphere set the tone for the couple’s lifelong love of fresh cuisine. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), Ed worked for years at top restaurants in the Hamptons and in New York City. Word got around about his talents in the kitchen, so Ed was selected as a private chef by the publisher and financier Arthur Carter. Ed and Allyson later worked as private chefs for Rupert Murdoch, Jimmy Buffett, Roy Scheider, and Neil Young.

After fifteen years as chefs to the stars, the Glennons longed to channel their passion for food and entertaining into their own restaurant. The Back Eddy is their charming neighborhood bistro, where they serve fresh and flavorful dishes in a
