History

Established in 2014.

Off The Wagon was originally opened as Venice Sports Bar and Billiards in 2008. It was Purchased and renamed in 2011 as Rip’s Sports Bar. In October of 2014 the business was shut down for 6 weeks and underwent a massive renovation and eventually a kitchen addition. The bar is now a 5300sf smoke free building with a full menu from 11am till 12:30am the next day every day!

Tommy purchased the business in 2011 with one idea in mind. To eventually provide the best food and entertainment in the growing community of Venice. After several years, that dream is now a reality. With a full menu offering from 11am till 12:30am and live entertainment multiple nights of the week, Off The Wagon is the place to be for the best tavern food and entertainment in Venice!

Not only do they have the best fries in town (seriously the best), but the staff is amazing and the prices are very reasonable. Live music on Saturdays and DJs make it a great place to hang out, especially since it’s no smoking. And karaōke on Thursday with DJ Tony Accardi is always such a good time. And football Sunday with all the TV’s make it the hang out spot, especially with a basket of sweet chili like wings. I can’t imagine hanging out at a better bar with better staff when I go out in Venice. Thanks Jeff, Jay, Tommy, and Amber for always keeping the good times rolling at OTW!

This is a great bar to go to if you are looking for a younger crowd. The DJ is very vulgar where every word is profanity which, unfortunately, makes the place more white trashy like. But he plays good music and sometimes they have good bands. Nice size dance floor. No smoking is the best and it stays pretty cool inside. Several pool tables. A variety of customers make it easy to find a group of people your age or interest level. Overall except for DJ, a great local bar.

Went to off the wagon last weekend and it was amazing. Very friendly staff and great open space concept so it isn’t too packed. They had a band and DJ which was a nice change up. Tommy the manger helped us out a lot as i had a party of 20+. food was great and drinks were fairly priced. Honestly one of the best spots in Venice. Will be going back in the near future.

I heard the best burger in Venice was at off the wagon which to my surprise is true. The BYOB concept is executed to perfection and the fresh cut fries are seasoned and cooked to perfection.

I had dinner at OTW last night and it was very good. I started with the house made Fried Mozzarella and gravy (marinara). The were top shelf good. For my entrée I had the burger and house made fries. The consistency of the burger was a little different, more like loose meat or meatloaf but was very good. And the house made fries were the best I’ve had. Just the right crunch with a soft center. If your looking for great bar food this is the place.

Atmosphere is fantastic, no smoking inside, great comfortable area on the front patio for the smokers, huge stage, killer sound system, too much to list! Well worth a stop, and now a killer menu!

Great bar for live entertainment! They are smoke free and have plenty of TVs to watch any sporting event on. Ladies night a couple nights a week and live music every Saturday. Most active place in Venice for sure!
