LOVE Mikal! I flew all the way from Colorado to be trained by her to do eyelash extensions. I praise her on a daily basis when my clients rave about their lashes for the knowledge and skill she shared with me. If you’re looking to train in eyelash extensions Mikal is 100% your girl.

Beware, you might get addicted to lash extensions… and to Mikal!
I originally found Mikal because I purchased a Gilt City deal back in 2010 in anticipation of my wedding in March 2011. Mikal was so nice to extend the timeline of the deal so that I could actually get extensions and a fill right before my wedding even though that was after the deal was supposed to be over. At the time she was operating through her home but now she has moved to a great studio in Marina Del Rey with easy street parking.
Mikal is super gentle and precise, she really takes her time. I naturally have terrible, sparse, straight, sad lashes and was worried about getting extensions since I never had them before. I didn’t instantly want to look like a crazy doll, I wanted something that could remotely look natural! Mikal spent a lot of time, especially during my first session creating a custom look for me with longer individual lashes at the corners but shorter and more natural ones along my eye so I didn’t feel like I was looking through a crazy curtain. Every time I went back she perfectly remembered what I liked, without me having to say a word!
The only problem was that I got addicted… to the amazing compliments people kept giving me! I’d leave the house with absolutely no makeup on, yoga pants and a tshirt from a rib eating contest (yes, a real outfit I wear on purpose) and strangers like grocery store checkers would pay me compliments, men would wink at me on the street, and even my mom who doesn’t give compliments easily would say I looked great! And that is not typical when I wear that outfit without extensions! Clearly a scientific process. So, be ready to add the cost of extensions and fills (you only need to refresh a whole set once the old set grows out basically) to your beauty regimen because you will want to keep coming back for more and more!
Just as an aside, I really like Mikal’s personality as well. She did my makeup for my wedding rehearsal dinner (which was AWESOME!) and I was an emotional ball of crazy when I showed up. She was so sweet and gave me some great advice and by the time my best friend and I left that day we were smiling, laughing and went to get tacos at a great truck nearby. I enjoy my time with Mikal and highly recommend her for both lash extensions and for makeup.

Best eyelashes ever!!! Mikal is so talented. I constantly catch people looking at my eyelashes and I can tell their dying to ask me about them. They look so real. I don’t feel them. I wash my face, and eye makeup, no problem. AND, she has the best prices. The only reason I didn’t give her 5 stars is because she’s not open on the weekends. ok… over 2 years since my first visit and I’m still looking fab with amazing lashes. At first I spent a year and a half commuting from Echo Park to Venice for my amazing peepers, but realized that was silly so I moved to be closer! (kind of kidding, moved for work, closer to SkyBox just a bonus!) But the fact that I battled LA traffic for so long should tell you how good I think my lashes look. I get comments all the time on them and the few times I’m asked if they are mine (they look so natural not many people ask) I say ‘yup, I paid for them!’ and then hand over a card so they can look as good.
Easy maintenance, no mascara needed which also means no mascara running/​flaking/​etc. a worthwhile investment and total confidence booster!

This broad knows her makeup… eyelashes too. I had first seen her work through music videos and print and was floored at her level of expertise and originality! I knew her from the world of fitness and therefore didn’t know to what extent her talent reached.
I asked Mikal to do my make up for my wedding day and she agreed. She had me come over one night when it was convenient for me and we tried different looks… she said we could do this as much as I needed in order to feel the look was perfect. It only took that one visit. She’s that good.
The day was flawless and my face looked the best it’s EVER looked!
Oh and I should mention she does lashes. Like a PRO. I’ve recommended about 10 people to her and if you’re reading this, you have my recommendation. Go now.

Few years ago a friend of mine bought lashes at charity event I loved they way her lashes looked after she received them from Mikal Sky (SkyBox), that I made appointment to have extension. That was over two years ago I go every two weeks and I have no problem making appoinments, she is very understanding if something comes up and you have to reschedule. I have referred four friends and they have all very good experiance with Mikal (SKybox)

Mikal is a rock star and is the only person you should trust with your beautiful lashes. I have known and loved her and SkyBox for years and feel like she is a pioneer in the industry. Go see her and only her! She will make you gorgeous pretty much guaranteed!

She just makes you pretty! I was referred to Skybox Mobile Make up by a girl teaching a spin class with killer lashes. She was dripping sweat and fabulous. What girl doesn’t want that?! Sold! I went to see Mikal and in an hour.(yes and hour) I had a gorgeous set of lashes on. They last about 6 weeks. they look natural (nothing worse than big olé fake doll eyes!)
I don’t have a lot of time and I need flexibility (I am a Mom to a toddler.) My calls are always returned in a timely manner and I never wait. I have been a client now a little over two years and I drive from the valley… because there is no one better. I have tried and paid ridiculous amounts of money and been on the table for over 2 hours with other people. (But that’s another Unilocal.) I can’t say thanks enough, Mikal!

I have only had great experiences with SkyBox makeup! I have been getting my lashes done with Skybox every 2 weeks for the last 2 years and they are always bangin! They make sure to make the lashes compliment my eyes and face and are always totally professional.

I have been all over LA and NYC searching for the perfect eyelash extraordinaire and I found it here for sure! Don’t listen to these awful reviews Im the pickiest chic out there and these ladies get it right EVERY time! My lashes are long and full and they last for weeks and weeks! I look forward to my visit not only to walk out of there looking lashtastic but also because its so relaxing i can take a cat nap while i get diva’d up or if I’m feel in spunky i can chat it up with the girls and any one of their other clients as EVERYONE is super sweet and outgoing. I have referred many friends and all of them are just as happy as me!! you want the best lashes around you better go here!

I never write complaints on Unilocal,but I HAVE to inform everyone about how IRRESPONSIBLE and RIDICULOUS this business is.
I recently purchased a coupon from Lifebooker, called them for 2 weeks trying to make an appointment, but no one ever gotten back to me, still until this day. I even called Lifebooker for assistance, but they can’t even get the owner to return their calls. I just don’t understand how they can run a business like this!
For anyone who is planning to purchase any coupons for Skylash, please be aware, because you might never get an appointment.

I feel the Janthina F. must be reviewing the wrong company — she couldn’t possibly be referring to the Mikki of Sky Lashes I’ve been going to for the last few months.
I found out about SkyLashes through Gilt City and my experience with Mikki, Mikal Sky’s assistant, has been phenomenal. From my first application to my fills, Mikki took her time explaining the process to me and expertly applying my lashes. They looked so real, nobody knew I was wearing extensions. I just kept receiving compliments about how pretty I looked.
Mikki also has gone out of her way with customer service. I caught a bad cold/​virus from work while wearing the lashes and needed to remove them. My work schedule did not sync up with Mikki’s and she did the unexpected: came to my home while I was sick and removed the lashes. When I tried to tip her she wouldn’t accept it.
I recommend SkyLashes and Mikki herself if you want expertly applied lashes and above average customer service. You won’t regret it!

mikki is amazing. she’s fast, my lashes look amazing (i get so many compliments) and she’s adorable to boot. i’m not sure what happened with the one-​star reviewer below but my experience with her has been great. mikki has been very responsive, flexible, and accommodating. we both have crazy schedules but she always makes time to see me when she’s back in town.

Found this gem of a space via Gilt City (one of my sources for undiscovered beauty artists). I purchased the «full set and one fill» option. Mykal is very good at what she does. She is precise, gentle and very thorough. I do wish her hours were a tad more flexible. I am an early bird who prefers am appts or early eve appts.
I recently had the pleasure of seeing Mikki there. She is awesome! I was initially a little frustrated as Mykal had not told me Mikki would be filling in. All in all everything worked out. My lashes look great 2 weeks later. Mikki is sweet, smart, very good at what she does and told me she will come in as early as I need and stay as late as I need. And she works Sundays (my favorite day!) That type of flexibilty is huge for me as it’s hard to squeeze all beauty appts in to 9 – 6 time frames. Mikki is also super responsive. I emailed her today with a question and she got right back to me. I have my «ideal beauty dream team» in my head and Mykal and Mikki are definitely essential members.
I am often asked about lash extensions — SkyBox and Sabrina @ Winx are two lash staples I always refer people to.

I wouldn’t usually complain about a discounted service but this is totally ridiculous and unprofessional.
When I first showed up at the office after purchasing a set of Skylash Extensions and two fills from Gilt City LA, Mickey (Mikal’s alternate) wasn’t even there and I called and texted for a while to find out that she was in Ohio at her father’s sickbed, but offered an extra fill to make up for it. Noted, but I didn’t even take her up on that extra fill.
I came back when she rescheduled and the lash application was fine. Very pretty, as all eyelash extensions are. I had another appointment with her, for which I had to wait 45 minutes for my turn, and the application was just okay. The next day the lashes were really strange and sticking out in odd ways (I don’t sleep on my face and I don’t use oil-​based products so I knew she just stuck too many on the lashes so they drooped), but I knew she could fix it during the appointment the next week. That appointment was today and unsurprisingly, she cancelled on me because she was doing a job for an Oxygen reality show — and I only found out when I texted to confirm an hour before.
Mickey knew that I was scheduled to leave for a trip very soon and this was the only time I had to come in — so it was really quite important to me to get it done in time. Now I have one set of eyelashes incorrectly applied on one eye and it is really just such an unsatisfactory job. The most outrageous thing was that I moved a lot of other appointments around for this one appointment with her today that she totally cancelled on without notice. She says she didn’t have it in her book today and sent her apologies, but I saw her write me in for today.
I really wouldn’t have wasted my time on this if I knew the service was going to be this bad. There are like a hundred places in town but now I literally have no time to spare before I leave. I didn’t even take her up on that extra fill, regardless of whether or not her father was sick in Ohio since she often seems to cancel on customers — or maybe just Gilt ones. I always give a hefty full price tip, so I’m pretty sure that isn’t the problem.
So if you’re a Gilt customer (or maybe an extremely unlucky full-​priced one) BE WARNED.
