Loved it and I will def be back regularly. During float super relaxed and chill. Post float– still Super relaxed, skin and hair really soft. I floated elsewhere 3 weeks ago and it stripped my hair. This place is awesome no damage to hair which is an added bonus for me. Great pricing and super easy.

I recommend that everyone try this at least once in their lives — unless you’re claustrophobic, afraid of the dark, or have a condition like PTSD. I tried to get my ex-​boyfriend to try it but he has PTSD and darkness and being shut in small quarters is traumatizing. Anyway, it’s a great way to relax OR meditate. Of course most people meditate and it’s a spiritual experience. YouTube «The Sensory Deprivation Tank — Joe Rogan» to learn a little more about floating in the spiritual sense. Price here is great and location is alright. After my 2 hour float, I was SOOO relaxed and since it was in Venice, I decided to walk around a bit. Bad idea! The Venice Beach boardwalk is not the most peaceful place so I had to leave at once. I needed to retain my tranquility lol. Don’t get me wrong, I love Venice BUT the ambiance of the beach after a float wasn’t what I wanted at the time. Try it! :) It’s not as weird as it sounds. Or maybe it is but you might just fall in love.

Interesting experience, 2 hours is quite long in my opinion.
I found the chamber a bit too cold for being naked. The water was ok, could have been warmer as well, but the air definitely would not have invited me to go naked.
Disappointed that no hair dryer was provided after the experience. After all you soak your hair for 2 hours and then have to wash it. Especially during winter time.
If you like it warm and cozy maybe try another lab…

I went here about 6 months ago and now it’s time to give a review. This was my first experience ever, read great stuff about it. While in the tank, I could still hear outside noise, I couldn’t relax and get into a meditative state that others talk about. I tried my best to stay in the tank for as long as I could, which was only 30 mins. The outside noise kept on disturbing me. The guy who worked there was hard to understand. He gave me a detail sheet on what to do and I had to sign it. He’s seemed kinda jaded, there was no sense of human connection.

At the intersection of being back in the womb, Neo being brought into the real world and perhaps what it’s like to be suspended in a coma or lost in deep space.
Whatever your interpretation, it certainly takes a special kind of person to appreciate and sit through this. If you’re apt to freak out easily, are unable to cope with your thoughts or the path your mind may take or are afraid of the dark, this might not be for you.
If you’re looking for an alternative to massages or other relaxation/​meditative activities, this may be for you. I found it to be an amazing way to be one with my thoughts with absolutely no exterior distractions or even those distractions of my body. Really remarkable what sensory deprivation and suspending yourself in water will do.
The facility was clean. And the session includes a fresh towel for your shower, complete with organic shampoo and Dr. Bronner’s soap.

WOW. this place is something special. The cost is crazy cheap, a definite must if youre in the area and have even the tiniest bit of interest in floating. At these prices id be foolish not to take advantage of it. Also these guys are the real deal in the industry. The place is small. two tanks, which is awesome, take someone with you and they will thank you for the experience. This spot is clean and comfortable, Jazz is a friendly dude. Will come back again. and again.

I had an amazing 2 hour float. Out of the three places I’ve floated, Float Lab had by far the BEST float tank I’ve experienced.
The space was very quiet. I didn’t hear a sound during my entire float.

Unlike anything you’ve done period period. You can make an appointment online, the tanks are located inside a small office park right on Venice Boardwalk. It’s near the north end of the boardwalk and is one of the stranger and lesser travelled areas of Venice at night. Once parked, you call to get in, you will find a small office that feels like a spiritual experiments lab. The lights are only purple and blue. A small orientation commences and one is made aware of the do’s and don’ts.
The whole experience feels a bit strange at the beginning but I promise if you do this and get «The Float» you will find it entirely unique and really really cool. The tank looks like a black bank vault on the outside and inside is your own private universe of endless pitch black. At the bottom of the tank there is pool of submerged ultra salt water that causes you literally float effortlessly. One lays in the water and infinity for up to two hours. After a very short time if you let yourself relax, you will feel the induced meditation. It can be a bit startling and foreign getting settled for the first time, but this is a must do experience that leaves one feeling surprised/​stimulated yet really really calm. Physically, your entire body feels like a heavy layer of weight has been lifted/​peeled off of you, this feeling is also pretty incomparable.

Float Lab is great from the experience all the way to the customer service. Bought a session for my boyfriend’s birthday and he said it was amazing and that he wants to definitely come back often. Due to his enthusiasm after the session I now want to schedule a session for myself.

Floating allows you to go into a relaxing meditative state that words can’t describe. It feels like your asleep but your not asleep and your body embraces it. Body aches and pains are lifted along with all negativity being pulled away by the time your session is over.
You become one with the water! #hippieStatus. The Float Lab sensory deprivation tank is by far the best type of meditation I have ever experienced!

Had an appointment on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed every part of it. All you need to bring is $ 40 CASH; everything else is provided: earplugs, shower, towel, soap, shampoo, etc. it took about 15 – 20 mins for my brain to really let go. The rest of my time in the tank was spent in and out of this world! It became difficult to tell if I was asleep or awake, if my eyes were open or closed. My mind was searching for something to see, so I would routinely catch flashes of light or shapes floating by. Moving my limbs around and gliding a few inches in the tank felt like I was moving 10 feet. Amazing. Crawling out of the tank and back out onto the Venice boardwalk felt like walking on another planet. Jared was awesome with all the preparation and I can’t wait to go back!

Nothing wrong with this place at all. I have a feeling for many people this could be an amazing, maybe even a life changing experience. For me, it was boring but I feel it just wasn’t my cup of tea.
Being deprived of light and sounds and stimulation would seem the ideal experience in a place like LA but to my surprise I found the experience to be dull. If I’m going to float in water I’d prefer to have the sun on me and the sounds of nature all around, even if some of those sounds are people on the beach. No hallucinations or zen moments for me.
The man who explained everything was clear and kind and the place was clean enough and had what was needed. Parking is an issue, prepare to walk or pay at least 10 bucks. Just giving the review of my personal experience, the place is just fine if you want to try this out.

Have you ever had the desire to experience complete weightlessness in the state of present consciousness, deep expansion and complete relaxation? How about the sensation of what it was probably like when you were cozy in your mother’s womb? Or, how about feeling like you are floating delightfully in outer-​space? If yes to any of these, I highly recommend investing your time to float for 2 hours. It was awesome. For me, it took some time to get my mind/​body/​soul settled, so I think 2 hours is the perfect time to float. $ 40 well spent! I already have my next appointment set for 3.5 weeks from now. I am excited to see what round 2 does for me :)

So I came at 10 pm and the place is hard to find and no parking after the normal shops close.
Venice gets a little sketchy once the sun goes down and on the side of the building are hundreds of bums camping out. (Fyi: more the ladies, a little sketchy late night) Now to the experience, I liked it unfortunately I didn’t get as good of an experience as other people but that is on me. I have did some research and they say it takes some people a few times to learn to relax. So I will go again and give it another try. People there are very friendly and for the pennies it cost it’s trying once…

This place was cool. It was clean and private. I notice people say they fall asleep, well don’t close your eyes.
Keep your eyes open if you are one of the people that can get into this you will begin to wonder if your eyes or your mind is playing tricks on you. :)

Complete bollocks. I found this to be a absolute waste of time and money.
I stayed in longer than my friend to give it a chance, but she figured it out sooner than I did and exited the tank once she found it to be horseshit.
The owner is a strange guy with a negative vibe-​there was something off about him that made me feel uncomfortable. Will skip this place while in Venice.

It’s great! Lots of people have listed everything but I’ll just add that a towel is provided, and if you go in the evening you can park right on Pacific a couple blocks away.

Oh Float Lab Technologies, you are definetly on a whole other level. I found out about FLT through a friend of a friend and knew immediately I wanted to try it out ASAP. There is a 6 – 8 week lead time depending on what day you choose. Since I don’t live close to Venice, I had to schedule on a weekend and wait out 8 weeks.
Some quick tips:
Ladies — bring a brush for afterwards. You will be taking two showers and you might as well come slightly prepared.

If you wear contacts — you will have to take them out. If you aren’t prepared, Crash will supply you with a case and solution.
I guess there is an area to park, but I ended up paying for parking about a block or so away.
Possibly bring your own ear plugs as the ones he has on hand aren’t that great and I felt took away from my experience a smidge.
The experience itself was pretty relaxing. I focused on my breathing and positive energy eventually visually seeing flashes of white light and losing all sense of physical perception. There were points where I didn’t think I was breathing anymore. I layed with my hands behind my head and would find myself coming back to self awareness with my finger tips touching the side of my head. I was in for the exact two hours.
Today, not even 24 hours later, and I feel really good. I have had a few life changes recently and am dealing with the possibility of having my uterus removed. I kept focused on my healthy body and mind, it prepped me for my busy week of doctors appointments and being a single parent. I definetly see myself coming back to get into a deeper meditation while in the tank.

I just experienced my first float.
There isn’t much to say as I think it gives an expectation to someone who doesn’t know what to expect and will likely have a different experience than myself.
I will say that I hit a trance like state pretty quickly. After releasing some of my own stress and anxiety I did reach some of my inner demons. I’m considering getting a massage before my next float as I did think releasing the tension in my muscles was one of the biggest things that impeded me from relaxing at first.
Occasionally a muscle would spasm in my leg or arm and I’d knock the side of the tank and then need to recenter and refocus myself. With that being said it was an incredible experience and I’ve already booked my second and third sessions.
FLOAT ON!

Now that I’ve done this, I can cross it off my bucket list. I’ve always wanted to try it, ever since I saw the Frasier episode where Niles learns, while sitting in his sensory deprivation tank, that his wife Maris might be cheating on him with their German fencing instructor (points to you if you remember that episode!).
At first, sitting naked in a salinated tank in silence and complete darkness was anxiety-​provoking, and even after I got over the urge to push the door open several times, it took a while to get comfortable enough for all of my muscles to relax. But eventually, how relaxing it was. Imagine – you live in Los Angeles – when’s the last time you spent time anywhere that was either completely dark or completely quiet. Probably never. For that fact alone, it’s worth the drive over to Venice.
I had a great time at Float Lab. Crash was the ultimate professional and I felt safe and secure under his care. I can see how the positive benefits of doing the float tank would compound over time, but I think it can really be many things to many people. Just need some stress relief? Go sit in the tank. Have a creative idea you need to work through? Book some time in the tank. Want a quiet, focused place to pray or meditate (like me)? The tank’s for you. Have chronic pain? The tank. Want to let your mind run wild in the expansive dark? Guess what, get in the tank.
At $ 40 for two hours, it’s cheaper than a massage or acupuncture. After the one hour mark, I was so relaxed, so fully leaning into the buoyancy of the saline, that I felt like I was laying in bed. I may have even drifted off to sleep a couple of times – don’t worry, you can’t drown, you can’t even flip over!
Hands down, the float tank was one of the most unique experiences I’ve ever had. I’m super glad I went and I definitely want to do it again.
