This place was beyond amazing. The staff are so friendly and sweet. You could tell they had a lot of regulars that came in there that they cared about. And the food! Oh my gosh I’ve never had a better croissant in my life. I had their goat cheese, Swiss, and tomato sandwich. It was amazing. You must try this place!

Authentic French bakery here in Venice! The bread can’t be beat. Also love their quiche, egg sandwiches, and of course — pastries! Pretty atmosphere, too.

Items Selected: Located along the same stretch of pavement as Upper Crust and Venice Avenue Creamery it was during the busy lunch hour that a stop was made at local favorite Croissant & Co., the homespun space filled with Francophile specialties plus several additional options catering to the local crowd’s age-based proclivities. More brightly lit than Upper Crust, the fresh pastries and bread laid out fancifully behind glass as opposed to being tucked inside a retro metal case, those entering Croissant & Co are likely to be met by big smiles and rich accents from servers, owners or bakers and whether opting for a table or take-out the wait can vary depending on timing, as can the daily menu’s variety. Not particularly keen on a long queue, the quoted time at 12:05 approximately«20 – 30 minutes» for two, it was with little lost that an order turned to take out baked-goods and although the Alligator shaped loaf was admittedly quite amusing, the items chosen took a far more traditional approach with many of them quite good. Unpacking pastries an hour later, the quintet fetching although an almond croissant that felt hefty yet flaccid turned out to be just so with a dense pocket of Frangipane at the base, first bites of a Paris Brest showed the choux somewhat compromised by way of humidity despite the light hazelnut filling, the Pear Tart also featuring almond paste far more appropriately textured than its predecessors largely as a result of the crisp butter shell beneath. Hoping for better use of lamination technique in later bites, the powder-sugar stenciled Apple Tart easily the best of the group with a rim that shattered to the tooth, final bites of the Chocolate Twist would have been benefitted by use of darker type of cocoa, the flavor perceptible though certainly not robust.

Wow — this place is legit! I picked up pastries both mornings after I practiced yoga on the beach. The apricot croissant, torsade au chocolat and cranberry danish were all to die for! My parents and I enjoyed every last bite and I know this will be a regular stop every time I visit my parents at their winter home in Venice!

I come from a culture where croissants are an everyday routine, and to be honest these are the best one I’ve ever had in the US, a good friend took me there as a surprise knowing my devotion for good quality pastries Self serve coffee is much better than other places the attendance is courteous, don’t expect over the top, they are French and is the way they are, courteous enough, is a different culture, otherwise there’s always Starbucks and you can go there. More quality croissants for me!

Can’t’ get enough of this place. We have been back 4 times and plan on returning again. All the pastries are superb. The staff is great and a pleasure to be around. The chocolate croissants are the best that we have had, and that includes the ones we had in France.

Yummy pastries! Loved the hazelnut«Paris Brest», as it was labeled… Did they mean breast?(see pic) whatever, it was great. My friend’s fruit tart was superb as well.

This is a very good stop along the shopping side of Venice Avenue — it will provide tasty sustenance for more walking and shopping. Or you can just go directly there and mainline the delicious pastries, quiches and sandwiches. I usually choose the second option. Servings are generous and well prepared, pastries are light and flavorful and the atmosphere is very lively. The service is polite and unhurried and even with people lined up to get in(and there is often a line!) there is no rush to get you out.

If you are accustomed to Publix pastries then I agree this place is outstanding! If you’ve ever had a decent chocolate croissant in your life, maybe at Craftsman & Wolves or Tartine in San Francisco, then this place is just ok. Prices are too high also. Cute bubble gum pink interior may appeal to very young or old. While it’s decent, its just not impressive. Also staff could be more pleasant display some kinda attempt at more prompt service.

This place is where your diet goes to die and you don’t even care! The Croque Monsieur was transformative! Melted Cheese on the top of the sandwich? Browned cheesy toasted deliciousness? Yes, please! Don’t even get me started on the croissants. So buttery, so flakey, so on point! Snagged those last 2 lemon tarts as a new year’s treat — i might share… nah! The only bad thing is that I have to leave town before I can go back, but I vow to to detour off the highway(it’s not close) to come back for more yummy treats when I’m back in Florida!

Wonderful little bakery/café with outstanding desserts — the best eclairs I’ve ever had. It is a little pricey, but so worth it. The family who owns the place are very sweet and accommodating.

I only came on for the free smells, and, ok, to look. But I promise, that’s all I had planned. I failed. I ended buying a chocolate cake($ 3.50), and a pain du chocolate(around $ 4.50) to enjoy later that night and the next morning. I’m glad I bought these two sweets. They were fantastic. The cake was light and fluffy, almost like a mousse. The heavy croissant was dense yet so flavourful, I ended up taking three bites before I could allow myself a sip of coffee. I’ll be back!

In a word, OUTSTANDING, as good as any bakery in France. Can’t get enough. I had the crossiant with jam stuffing, so good. My wife had the crossiant with chocolate stuffing, she loved it! Also had a Madeline, just perfect!

This was a big surprise. I thought t was just a little pastry shop. wrong, I had a leek and prosciutto quiche, my partner had a ham with 3 cheese sandwich… both meals were incredible. The coffee was rich and not acidic. The price s the same it would have cost if we went to Dennys or a mom and pop diner. Just moved to Venice, it will be a regular for us.

This place is excellent. Very authentic! The baguette is crispy and the croissant oh so flakey! The ham in the hot ham and cheese croissant sandwich is so tasty! What I really liked was the strawberry tart. American strawberry tarts are made with tasteless thick pastry and they end up soggyx. These tarts are perfect! The dough was sweet and flakey and thin and the custard was delicious! Not soggy at all! Delicious! The fresh orange juice is FRESH and delicious!

Absolutely delicious little place. Croissants and espresso are an absolute must try. Went back just a couple hours later to grab lunch because breakfast was so good. They also have bread shaped like an alligator. Too cute. And delicious. The décor is super cute too, very Parisian-art deco. A must try place!

Really amazing. The croissant sandwiches are to die for. I had the warm goat cheese and honey sandwich and it was so good I went back the next day for another! My husband also loved his warm Brie and prosciutto sandwich. While I was waiting for the sandwiches I couldn’t help but pick out some treats which were heavenly. I got ours to go both days, but the dining area seemed very pleasant and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and cheerful. Do yourself a treat and stop by… you won’t be disappointed!

Best croissants in the US and just as good crousants in Paris! I have the quiche. The crust was flaky and buttery and the leek and prosciutto filling was delicious. Servings are large and coffee is strong. Yummy!

Stopped in for breakfast. As I write this, wish I could be eating their food for lunch today. Soon as I walked in and heard french being spoken I looked at my husband and stated this is going to be wonderful like we were back in France — I was right! Wish they were by me in Ohio! Everyone there working except for one lady is from France. The business started early in 2014. Told that the butter is brought in from France — yes, it will make things taste different(think of the different wines /regions /favors), probably some other ingredients as well. The food is the real deal. We sat up at bar on stools at the counter viewing into the kitchen while the young chefs prepared different quiche — we had 2 different ones which were plated lovely with fresh fruit. Of course we also had to have some items from the front case(twisted chocolate glazed croissant and coffee éclair) both items were amazing. We had just the regular coffee. Place is cute, clean and fair pricing. We have already recommended to family that live or visit down that way in Florida

A week after my previous review, we bought two crocodile bread loaves for a party. The eyes were sunflower seeds surrounded by poppy seeds(pic). It was the hit of the buffet table! Great crust with soft center, a fantasy baguette. Marvelous with warmed brie.
