Specialties
Rob offers two distinct areas of custom woodworking; small timber framed structures & furniture. Alternate structures may include but not be limited to: greenhouses, woodsheds, toolsheds, gazebos, small workshops and storage sheds. Adirondack chairs and accessory items for outdoor pleasure are available year round and I’ll consider many different furniture projects. I don’t have inventory on hand, you’ll have to place an order. Native White Cedar from Dewey’s Lumber and Saw Mill is used for all of my outdoor furniture.
History
Established in 2005.
Grapevine Hill Woodworking became a reality in 2005 after Rob completed a 30 year career teaching middle school math and science. Rob learned carpentry and woodworking skills from his grandfather and father early in life but has since self taught timber framing, cabinet and furniture construction skills «It’s amazing how similar these two areas of woodworking actually are». Both require great attention to detail and precision.
Meet the Business Owner
Rob L.
Business Owner
Rob taught middle school Math & Science for 30 years and during vacation time operated his own home repair and remodel business. Through time my projects began to specialize into cabinetry and fine finish work. I have found greater pleasure working on the details of «Shaker style» furniture making and precision joint cutting. During the 80’s a TV show named «This Old House» introduced Timber Framed construction and Rob began research and studying the fine art of mortise and tenon cutting and assembling structures with wooden «tree nails». «I have built a dozen timber framed structures since beginning on this adventure.»
