The budha bowl with the extra spicy sauce and a cowboy girl cookie for dessert is a really great option! I have not tried their soups but have heard great things! Thanks for the great healthy food option!

Friendly people who truly care about bringing tasty, healthy, wonderful food to you. The Buddha Bowl and tahini dressing hits the spot every time. That dressing is amazing – I hope they eventually sell it bottled!
Try not to be too bummed when you see the prices. You gotta just suck it up. If you want super fresh, super healthy food, this is the only place on Vashon you’re gonna get it made for you.
Service (that is, the time it takes to get your food) is hit and miss– it’s so small that not too many people can work at once, and sometimes they get slammed. But it’s quite obvious they are doing the best they can! Again, just cut them some slack and enjoy how healthy and how NOT full and bloated you feel after your meal.

We were so excited to find a vegan restaurant on the island. Don’t let the small building fool you. The food is delicious and flavorful. It smelled so good when we walked in. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Chatted a while with the gal who owns the place who is so nice. We will definitely make a return trip there next time we head to Vashon. Keep up the good work!

Taaaaasty! Had their Buddha bowl, carrot ginger soup (a special), and coconut ginger latte. This ended up being enough food for two of us. Get the lemon tahini dressing, you won’t regret it.

Food was delicious… but $ 41 for two bowls soup, a split salad and a smoothie? C’mon…

Pure is a sweet place run by a sweet woman, Stephanie, who really cares about what people eat. I know they spend at least 4 hours each morning prepping all their fresh organic ingredients. Personally I am not a juice person; if you are, you can’t get better or fresher than here. Keep in mind that produce costs more on Vashon due to the cost of hauling it (except for local organic) on the ferry, and factor that in to the prices charged. Buddha bowls are always a satisfying lunch, the soups, especially carrot ginger coconut are Yum, and they have these darling little mousse cups with cashew milk, cacao, fresh mint and orange that make the perfect dessert. Lots of interesting hot drinks, too. The place is small but there are tables outside, easy location to find near the main intersection of town. I am not a vegan, but Pure makes it easy to enjoy pure food and feel good.

i am updating my review to add a star as the owner msged me and credited me for the miso soup, thus management is very good and they were quite concerned with my review and hope that i would have a better experience next time round.

$ 5 for a cup of miso soup, not even a bowl. it was literally water and miso paste in an 8oz to-​go coffee cup. i understand on vashon things are a bit pricier, but i felt like i had a small hot cup of water for $ 5. their vegan cookie was good though. i want to come back to try other things, but we’ll see.

The turnip stew is also great. At first I was disappointed that there was no carrot ginger stew, but then I tried the turnip stew and I was happy. The vegetables are all stewed until soft and the flavours all mingle together wonderfully. Also, a great part that I haven’t tasted in other soups is that it has coconut milk as a creamer, but it is not a coconut milk soup. It seems to have a small portion of coconut milk in it; enough to add the flavor, but not so much that it dominates and becomes a coconut milk soup.
In fact, I was so inspired that I am now stewing a similar soup at home with whatever was at the local farm stand.

Delicious, healthy vegan food. Blah service. What is it with restaurants closing before they close? If you don’t want to serve anyone after 4:50, say you close at 4:50. Don’t say you close at 5:00. Some people might head to Pure thinking they still have time to grab a super quick bite to go before closing, only to be turned away, hungry and disappointed.
Despite the consistently mediocre service, Pure is still my favorite restaurant on the island, simply because the food always tastes great, I feel good about eating it, and I like to support a small business with a conscience. My favorite is the Bowl formerly known as Fusion (the new name escapes me now) with lemon tahini dressing and a dab of chili paste. Oh rude girl, why did you have to turn me away? I’m craving Pure!

Steve was in Vashon one time before me and spotted this place and wanted to go here when he came back.
So we finally made it back recently, my first time ever to this island and hit up Pure!
We decided to share the Nature Bowl and have Lemon Tahini as our dressing. We were supposed to have been asked as to what base food we wanted in the bowl but that did not happen. They put quinoa in the bowl which was ok. Not a problem. Quinoa is good!
The food was very fresh and the dressing was perfect with the overall flavoring of the bowl.
The place was fairly busy and could get crowded which could become a problem if it got too hot outside and no one wanted to eat outside which was sort of what was going on here. The place really isn’t all that big to accommodate a lot of in housd diners.
Other than that the place was a great experience!

Love love love Pure! The food is delicious and super healthy. The Buddha bowl is a favorite, as is the vegan pizza on Wednesdays (the most energizing slice of pizza you’ll ever eat). They make really yummy soups that change daily. Oh and cowgirl cookies! And smoothies! Yay!

First off, I’m not a vegan. This place is so freaking good! I love the fusion bowl and the pizza is smashing good (check availability, I believe they only make one per day)

Hubby & I split the Fusion Bowl with Sesame Ginger dressing & Hippy Borsch. We both throughly enjoyed the Fusion Bowl & would order it again. It was filling and tasty. The Borsch was OK but not great…& you’d better like beets because it was like beet soup. We added some chili paste to liven it up. There were no fancy desserts like the pictures show. Overheard the owner tell another customer that the pizza everyone raves about is only served a couple times a week & it sells out fast. The place is super small be prepared to take your food to go. Prices aren’t cheap ($ 18) for our lunch, but fresh organic food never is.

Somehow I walked out the door and didn’t remember to pack any food (probably because I was worried I would miss the ferry :)). I typically bring my own food on daytrips, as I’m not sure if there will be healthy lunch options. However, I was delightfully surprised to find this cute and cozy restaurant serving great organic, vegan food. I had the fusion bowl, which included warm quinoa and beans with a light kale salad on the side. I couldn’t have asked for a better lunch!

Really great, whole food. The pizza is amazing. I don’t know how a raw, vegan pizza can be amazing, but it is. The raw desserts are crazy good, too. Service can be slow but that only makes sense when you’re serving raw, fresh, made to order food.

I searched for a vegan restaurant prior to coming to Vashon and came across this one, of course. We stopped here for lunch and had the raw pizza and a bowl with quinoa/​brown rice. The pizza was absolutely incredible!!! Really great crust (pressed with seeds) and nice amount of greens on top. The sauce probably provided all the flavor and it was delicious!
The bowl was pretty good, simple but tasty. I probably wouldn’t order that again, just because it wasn’t especially unique.
The staff was friendly and attentive. I asked them a few questions about Vashon and they were very helpful.
Really looking forward to coming back here on my next journey to Vashon.

Food: Amazing. The pizza is great — I’ve been vegan and gluten free for 3 years and I’ve never had anything like it. Truly a masterpiece of flavors!
Price: Too high to eat here often. I figured the pizza is about $ 3.00 per 100 calories. After a regular slice at $ 6.50, I left hungry.
Service: OK, but not warm or friendly. Distant and flat-​toned.

«Pure» is the best restaurant on Vashon Island, hands down, because they are the only restaurant that serves actual food. No SAD (Standard American Diet) here at Pure! All their dishes and beverages are vegan, organic and many of them, if not all, are raw. That means, you get the most nutrition for the buck. And that fact alone makes them the best on the island. But not only the best deal, you will get the most flavor and the most delectable foods you can imagine. In fact, once you buy a meal at Pure, if you aren’t already a vegan or raw foodist, you might just go home determined to become one. I did! Thank you, Pure!

wow, wow, wow! pure rocks my world! I would eat here every day if i could afford to eat out every day.
not that pure is expensive. in fact, most of the meals are so reasonably priced, i don’t know how they make a profit. especially since they don’t skimp on their ingredients, which are always a fresh rainbow of colors, beautiful and ORGANIC! how many restaurants can you say that about?
pure has a small menu, and they put special care into each one of their recipes. many of the dishes are raw, or lightly cooked.
what i love the most about pure:

they are all gluten-​free!
affordable food without compromising taste or quality of ingredients. you can come away with a bill under $ 10 if you are strapped for cash and still be satisfied. or you can live it up with the pricier raw pies for dessert and pay a more moderate price for your food. trust me, it will be worth every penny!
i love their warm nature bowl with quinoa and tahini sauce, yum, yum. it is light and filling at the same time, and always contains an array of fresh vegetables.
the vegan love burger is scrumptious! gluten free bun, stuffed with so much goodness you can barely wrap your mouth around it!
their smoothies rock, and the blackberry smoothie in the summer is my fave.
i ADORE their raw cacao torte, which is better than any dessert i have ever had, bar none. it’s the kind of dessert that would win over any mainstream u.s. meat-​eater to the joys of eating raw vegan food. try any of their many raw desserts, they are amazing!
they even have gorgeous condiments like pink salt, black sesame seeds, nutritional yeast, kelp, and fresh ground black pepper.
their wellness shot is awesome to get rid of a cold before it has a chance to move in and take hold.
the staff are young and hip, and awesomely friendly (those two qualitiesoften don’t go together). stefanie, the owner, is as sweet as she is adorable. the off-​beat down-​home friendliness that vashon is known for is very present in their tiny little space.
the little tables outside are lovely for sitting in the fresh air and having a refreshing meal in the spring and summer.
they use compostable to-​go-​ware! can a restaurant be this good, and care about the planet at the same time???
i always leave pure feeling satisfied, refreshed and energized, like i just gave my body a gift. which is exactly what eating at pure is all about.
in case you didn’t get the message, I ADORE THIS PLACE! there is not a restaurant on the planet i would rather go to. in fact, if i could give this place 6 stars, i would!
