Child Care & Learning Center: 6 week-​old Infants through School-​Age Before and After Care, as well as children with special needs.

We use the Teaching Strategies Creative Curriculum for Infants and Toddlers as well as for Preschool. It is a comprehensive, research-​based curriculum that supports children learning through developmentally appropriate lessons/​activities. This curriculum aligns with Ohio Early Learning Developmental Standards.

We feel we have something special to offer in child care. We regarding children as extremely important individuals. We believe in the importance of nurturing them socially, educationally and spiritually. We strive to make the child care experience a happy and rewarding one for both parent and child.

History

Established in 1975.

In 1975 Mr. & Mrs. Shock purchased Anna’s Child Care & Learning Center, located on North Dixie Drive. This center had been in operation since l958. In 1976 The Shock’s increased the square footage of this center and also increased enrollment from 20 students to 60. In December 1979 The Shock’s built and opened a center at 622 Pool Avenue in Vandalia with 12 students. By the Fall of l980, 120 students were enrolled. In l982, the center on North Dixie was consolidated with the center on Pool Avenue. In October 1988 The Shock’s built and opened a second center at 1820 South Alex Road in West Carrollton. The name was changed from Anna’s Child Care & Learning Center to Early Beginnings, which is used now by all the centers. In November of l991, Early Beginnings opened a third center at 1021 South Dorset Road in Troy, a fourth center opened in March 1996 at 5600 Clyo Road in Centerville, and the fifth center opened in March 2004 at 5833 Shull Road in Huber Heights.
