The food was good and I enjoyed it, but the thing that weirded me out was when the waiter started clipping his nails. It was slow and quiet so I could actually hear every nail as it was clipped while I was eating. He was watching tv and doing it like it wasn’t a big deal. Kinda grossed me out…

Good food and a lot of food for a small order but the service is not personalized. They are not attentive to customers, they don’t talk to you and no appreciation for customers

Based on the reviews, i thought for sure i’d have a good experience! My husband and i came in and sat down. It didnt seem too busy, maybe 4 other tables of people and half of them had their food. It took about 5 minutes after we sat down to get menus. We knew right away what we wanted when we searched the menu and we closed them and put them to the side so we could order. A man came by about 5 minutes after and took our menus and said he’d be right back to take our order. No even joking, 10 minutes goes by and hes cleaning tables, taking other customers dishes, refilling waters and my husband and i are looking at each other, STARVING and we decided to just get up and leave. Im not sure if they were low on staff or if its usually a long wait but im use to going to tantan where they constantly check on you and get your food out quickly. Total disappointment here cause ive heard the food is awesome. Not sure if ill be back after this visit :(

Awesome soup. Brownie points for the wait staff being incredibly polite despite a rude diner in the restaurant.

AVOIDTHISPLACEFORBUNBOHUE. The Vietnamese dish Bun Bo Hue is like Phở on steroids. You will never order Phở soup again after you have great Bun Bo Hue which is a soup with vermicelli and beef, lemon grass, fermented shrimp, chili oil, and if you like congealed pig blood. Saigon Restaurant serves mediocre Phở which I have tried a few times. I gave the place one last try with an order of Bun Bo Hue and it was essentially their Phở with some added chili oil. It sucked. Also, they served the Bun Bo Hue with the same exact sides as Phở-sprouts, thai basil and jalapeños. Bun Bo Hue should be served with lime wedges, cilantro sprigs, diced green onions, raw sliced onions, chili sauce, thinly sliced banana blossom, red cabbage, mint, basil, perilla, persicaria odorata or Vietnamese coriander(rau ram), saw tooth herb. Their version is not authentic. The old man who owns the place always has a scowl on his face like he’s about to take a dump. Goto Green Papaya. Much better food!

I requested«#20 please». She came out with a 23 and argued its what I ordered. I can see the misunderstanding however she brought out a bowl of meat and just tossed it in the bowl. No apologies. No explanation. Okay. I’m hungry so I want to eat. Food sucked. So combine the communication snafu, no apologies and below average food I will not be back. Oh and paying the bill there wasn’t even eye contact or thank you. Nope. Not coming back here.

We’ve been eating here for a decade! This place truly has the best salad roles I have ever eaten and the soup is not only great but it’s consistent, never a surprise. The customer service is great and one of the only places in Vancouver that everyone in my family loves to eat. I highly recommend you check it out

Best Vietnamese food in Vancouver! Hands down I am so picky and can’t eat anything out here because the food is just not up to par with my taste but I actually like this place and not only like, LOVE! Lemon rice chicken is my favorite and the phở itself too! Just can’t eat the phở to go because I never get it to the right temp when I take it home. Their veitnamese coffee is bomb too. Tastes just like the real deal! Thanks guys

Outstanding service, good food, and little wait times make Saigon a staple in our dining habits. People could learn a little bit from this place.

I love this place, been coming here at least twice a month for years. My favorite dish is the garlic shrimp next to the eye of round phở. The lemon cured beef is also a favorite. All my kids love the food! Great service great prices! Next time you want a good meal this is the spot!

Still one of my all time favorites… their fresh spring rolls are the best I’ve had and their Phở soups are outstanding. The large is enough to feed a small army. My wife had the Chow Fun and that was also very good. Highly recommend this place! I’ll be back…

A really good place to eat. The phở is delicious. The service is great. Viet the server is very accomodating. This place is way better that Tan Tan Café on Mill Plain. They know how to treat and satisfy their customers.

5 star AMAZING phở– hands down the best in the Vancouver/Portland area that I have had! The broth is hot, strong, and very flavorful with a perfect medley of herbs and spices. The meat in the phở tai was lean and had a good flavor, and there was a lot of it and lots of noodles as well. They gave us lots of cilantro, basil, and bean sprouts, and peppers for garnishes as well. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated, and the waiters are also the owners it appears and are quieter but nice and the service is very fast. This is now my new favorite spot for phở!

Service was not good, gave us water but never asked if we wanted to order any drinks. Server looked like he was in a bad mood, permanent scowl on his face even with other tables. I ordered the crispy chicken with sweet & sour sauce was listed as one of the chef specialties. The sauce was fine came with white rice but the chicken was basically fried grissly chicken fat. My boyfriend had pad Thai and that was decent.

Went in for some Phở since it was a chilly rainy day. Found this place on Unilocal so decided to give it a try. Service was quick and our Phở was delivered promptly. Good portion of meat and a tasty broth. No mint leaves were on the plate, but already inside the Phở. A good meal, and a decent atmosphere for a strip mall type place. I would definitely go back here for more food.

Phở Yeah! Unexpectedly coming down with a nasty cold, I knew one way for Seth to get better was getting him a hot bowl of phở. We had movie tickets for Cinetopia that night so not knowing what’s good, what’s not in Vancouver I reached out to Unilocal for recommendations. Searching ‘phở’ in the app, Saigon Restaurant was the first highly rated restaurant listed. We dropped in on a Wednesday just after 6pm & were seated immediately. Service was just as quick with bringing menus, glasses of ice water, & taking our orders. We both ordered small bowls of phở ga($ 6.95) but were mistakenly given the large size($ 7.50). Our server noticed the error right away but assured us we would only be charged for smalls which we were. The soup was perfect to clear a cold out for just a little while. The broth was hot & full of all the right flavors, the chunks of white chicken were tender & juicy, & the portions were more than I could handle. The small order of salad rolls($ 3.50) were very good. Even though there’s only two rolls they’re not small in size. They’re large & neatly stuffed with sliced BBQ pork, shrimp, bean sprouts, lettuce, & vermicelli noodles. Great appetizer. A must try is their iced café sua da(Vietnamese coffee) for just $ 2.50. This is the cheapest I’ve seen it & it was fantastic. I wish I lived closer or Saigon Restaurant opened another location in SEPDX because I’d buy one every day. So good! We were impressed with Saigon Restaurant. The food tasted great especially since it helped Seth feel better, the service was quick & very nice, & the prices were very reasonable. We’ll be back soon.
