I’ll start this by saying Holli is a very sweet person. She did a nice job on my daughters hair(even though it took her close to an hour to cut a mere 2 inches off). She was very friendly. However as I waited for my hair cut I grew increasingly uncomfortable between her nervous glances to me every few minutes, to check she had my approval, to the all around atmosphere of the salon. When we walked in we were just stared at by everyone, no hello, welcome, we will be with you in a minute. No one in there looked happy. During the hour I sat there I listened to stylists complain to the whole salon about clients running late. I watched the owner attempt to teach another stylist how to give a basic hair cut, then talk to another person about coloring hair for 45 minutes while saying things like«I did that to someone last week, and they hated it» It all just felt really uncomfortable, and unprofessional. I also judge a salon by how the stylists hair looks. I think as a hair professional you should have good hair, not so much in this salon. Once in the chair with Holli, who again I will state is very sweet personality wise, I showed her a picture of what I wanted. Then once cutting, she would ask me every 10 minutes«Is it looking cute yet?» Which of course I cant tell because its mid cut. To end a long review, Holli should not be doing short cuts. With a pixie cut you see every mistake, and there are a lot. It is the worst cut I think I have ever had. I would have been better off going to super cuts, or staying loyal to my amazing stylist in Portland. But my hair needed a cut, and I was there anyhow. I feel butch almost, to put it bluntly. The cut has no shape, its bluntly cut around my ears, almost looking like patches are cut way shorter than others. Thank god my hair grows out reasonably quick. I don’t know where all these«amazing» reviews are coming from. Take advice from me, and head to Portland for your hair cut!

Don’t do it. I went to the owner Sarah, thinking«she’s the OWNER, she must be good!» Nope. Will not go back. Will not recommend to my friends. In fact, I will tell anyone that listens to never go to her. I can’t say anything for the rest of the stylists, but Sarah was not good. She butchered my hair. Made it orange, when I wanted a blonde ombré. I had non-dyed brown hair before coming there. She fried it so bad, I couldn’t even comb it without my hair literally breaking off in my hands. Had to go back to get 4 inches cut off, basically half of my ombré. Worst experience in my life. And to top it off, she was so unprofessional during the entire service, triple booked us, worked on 2 people(including me) at one time. Took almost 5 hours. Awful. Find somewhere else.

I loved Mary! I’m pretty«alternative» and have straight across pin up bangs I needed touched up and wanted an undercut to take away some of my thick, thick hair. This was a little out of her usual comfort zone, but she was so excited to try something new, and I came out with great hair! She even made a little design in the undercut! I will be coming back :)

So I decided to try out tape in extensions. I had already been going to sarah for a few months and she was great with hair color and very sweet. I told her I wanted an aline. She first told me I needed 3 packs of hair. My hair is already short so I was surprised that I needed that much. She ended up telling me that i only needed two($ 180 +100 for the apt) So she got me in the morning after xmas. Having short hair for over 10 years it was amazing seeing myself with long hair. She ended up giving me a shoulder length cut cause she was nervous for cutting so much of my extensions off. I went with it. It didn’t sit well with me so I made am apt with a photo of an aline and came back. She butchered the back of my hair. I cried on my way to work that next morning. It looked horrible, she then told me that that’s what I asked for. I posted it on my personal fb page(didnt tag her) and she made me feel bad that I posted it. I took it off. Then days later I started taking my hair out because of how awful it looked. She told me I was to never come back to her salon ever. I will post photos.

I gave Sarah a picture of what I wanted my hair to look like which was very doable. She is a nice lady but scissor happy and just started chopping all of my hair off. I have a line of bleach in my hair that doesn’t even go to my root. I look like a cheetah. I was balling my eyes out when I left. I tried to get money back and she wouldn’t give it back. Instead she said she could fix it, why would I have her fix if she just did that to my hair??? Over all it was one of those experiences that makes you never want to get your hair cut again. So traumatizing. IMG_4617.JPG

Jennifer Ferris at the Red Chair Salon is an Amazing hair stylist and someone I trust with my hair. I’m always super hesitant to try a new hair stylist… to the point of never going… but after an initial consultation with Jennifer, I saw great results and she taught me how to take care of my hair on a daily basis. I’ve never had a hair stylist tell me why I should use certain shampoo’s and what Temp the water to wash it in! That is a level of care that is rare to find and highly appreciated by a «Hair Snob» like me!

Check it out out the ladies at red chair. You won’t regret it. My Girl is Jennifer. She’s so talented. The one thing that I really love about her is that she really cares about your hairs health while giving you what you want. With all her shots and oils. Lol always making sure to use the less harsh colors and techniques to keep your hair at its best. I’m on my fourth fantasy color and my hair still very healthy. Plus she’s the sweetest all the girl are. It’s a lil family in there :)

This salon really tries to get to know their customers and is always friendly and knowledgeable with the current styles. I’ve tried lots of other salons and none of them compare to the red chair. Sara the owner always does a great job.

I came in for a consultation and it felt like a relaxed family business. it wasn’t what I expected at first but I knew I’ve heard nothing but extremely positive reviews. Personal and ones I’ve read. Sarah did a test strand on my hair cuz I wanted to go lighter. She said it would work and we could do it. Few days later when I came in for my appointment I guess she decided that it wouldn’t work and that she would only bleach my hair if I signed a waver. I decided to not do all that cuz I was starting to worry that it was really that big of a deal. Although I was a tad annoyed that she said we could do it easily and Then was telling me I shouldnt, I did appriciate the honesty 100%. And im glad she brought me back to reality lol. We went darker instead but I don’t think I have ever had such beautiful hair in my life she did the best job over any other salon I’ve gone to. Sarah is the best! She’s really nice and she will b real with u! She hooked me up with shampoo too. Idk how I could thank her enough but all ik is I won’t go to anyone else but her and it’s not like my hair is easy to do lol but Sarah knows her stuff! GOTOSARAHSHESTHEQUEENOFCOLOR!

I went in with my bridesmaids for a bridal hair trial for myself that I had set up via email with Sarah. We arrived about 10 mins early for my appt & stood at the front counter for a good 2 – 3 mins while 3 employees ignored our arrival. No hello, no we’ll be with you in a min, nothing. Finally one of the ladies asked are you the bridal appt? I said yes and we sat down. Waited 15 mins past my appt time, finally the lady who acknowledged us said ok I’m ready to do your makeup. I informed her I had made the appt for hair only. She said oh ok and walked away. 10 mins later she came back & said it would be a little bit longer. I asked how much longer, she replied maybe another 30 mins. At this point we had already waited 30 mins, she told me my appt was booked wrong & Sarah who I believe is the owner had yet to come out to tell me herself that she was running late. Horrible customer service from the minute we stepped in the salon, very disappointed. So many good reviews makes me wonder, also makes me wonder what would of happened on my wedding day. My bridal party and I will be going elsewhere.

I use Jennifer Ferris at the red chair salon for my hair services. I have also referred a few friends and family members to her. She is very professional and accurate and makes sure you feel very comfortable with what you are getting. She is also great at suggesting other products that may help your particular needs. The prices here are also very reasonable. I am going to use her to do the hair for my niece’s wedding party!

I love going to get my hair done at Red Chair Salon. I left my last stylist because the salon was so dirty and the stylists were always talking to each other and it was just plain unprofessional. This is the total opposite. I love being in the salon, it is such a fun environment. Not only that but Jennifer Ferris is a genius, she knows her stuff, period the end. She«gets» my difficult hair and handles it with ease. She colors and cuts my hair and I could not be happier with the results.

Sarah ruined my hair! She’s horrible. I tried to get light golden brown and it didn’t even come out right. It was blonde on some spots and dark rest of hair. Overall I didn’t get the results I wanted. Plus she tried charging me for ruining my hair. Would not recommend this salon to anyone. Go somewhere else please

This salon is amazing!!! I have NEVER left a salon happy. I would rather go to the dentist than trust another person with my hair. So, I’ve been doing my own hair for years. The Red Chair Salon completely changed that today. I couldn’t be happier with the service I received and the end result. I have a TON of hair. I’ve never left a salon with my hair fully dry because of the amount of time it takes. I left today with a full style! Sarah listened to everything I had to say and gave me exactly what I wanted. She refused to let me leave with my hair undone. Instead of giving poor style to my one ton of hair, she had another girl style one side of my hair while she did the other. Perfect service. Perfect employees. Perfect color. Perfect cut. Perfect style. I will take my hair here, and only here, from now on!

So impressed with Mary! I have had many hair woes in my past, I decided to use a groupon and try this place out. I’m so happy I did. Mary was friendly and listened to what I wanted… and made sense of it since when I came in I wasn’t exactly sure.
