History

Established in 1889.

Started as a Milling Feed Store selling to local farmers. We still cater to the local farmer as well as pet owners. The Mill was purchased by it’s current owner in 1989. The store has recently built and moved into its’ new 22,000 sq ft building making it possible to stock items previously purchased as special orders.

We carry horse feed, goat chow, rabbit chow, cheicken feed, dog and cat food. Koi and Trout food. Small animal feed, bird seed, squirrel food etc… anything you need we either have or can get.

We also sell fencing, hutches, 4 — wheelers and scooters. Come take a look — you WILL be pleasantly surprised.

Love this place! They are so knowledgeable on the pet food they carry and what they have in their store. The staff is super friendly. our little family members Bubba and sweeties heads perk up when we turn at the light — they know we are going to get bags of dog treats ha ha ha

Battle Ground, WA
For those that have grown up here the old Orchards Feed Mill is a staple business. They have a fabulous new building, and yard area for the nursery, and much more selection inside than what they were able to provide in the old building.
All supplies for animals, and for gardening and for heavier garden/​landscape work that any DIY’er could need, as well as any small landscape or yard maintenance company. They are a Stihl dealer location, which is also very helpful to be able to bring my chainsaws and other equipment in if needed, or to just get replacement parts when necessary.
The people are helpful and patient, and have all been very friendly.

What a scam! NO REFUNDS FOR RETURNED ITEMS, ONLY STORE CREDIT OR EXCHANGE. Store manager Tom Hughs says, «many stores have this policy, including Walmart»! What a clown. Don’t shop here, go to Ace on 162nd, or Wilco, these stores actually operate in the 21st century.

The staff here are AWESOME! I have saved over 50% on cat food and litter! The Integrity Cat Litter brand is $ 10 for 40 pounds! It clumps and I’ve not had ANY smell from the catbox! It can get a little dusty however. I recommend dumping the litter into a container OUTSIDE. Some of the dust will float away. Orchards also has sample foods for when you’re testing out foods for your pet. They were so helpful when my former older cat was getting fussy about food.

This place is awesome! As an owner of a pig, typical pet stores have little to no livestock related items. Today I went for hoof trimmers since dog clippers no longer work, ended up exploring the store and while I didn’t spend much time in the livestock section, I noticed they have a ton of horse supplies including tack — including fancy sequin blankets .
Went downstairs and they have a large variety of dog & cat food and treats as well as bowls, beds and toys.
This place is great and I’m glad there are so many other pet stores than horrible Petco. (Please refrain from shopping at any Petco’s)
Prices are comparable to Petco and PetSmart so you should support local businesses and check this place out.

Hubbs and I have been here a few times prepping for puppy and multiple times after puppy came!
People are always buzzing around making sure to greet you as you come in and check on you if you look lost.
We recently bought a bag of dog food that we had for a few weeks and noticed that pupp didn’t like it as much as another food brand that he ate. When we went to take it back to our surprise they took the whole bag (even opened) and refunded us 100%. Amazing customer service! Prices are decently good as well. We found a few things here that are normally hard to find.

Best place ever for all my cats needs. The food is better and there are no added by products plus it’s less expensive then the big box stores. Everyone who works here is extremely helpful and knowledgeable and I feel confident with thier answers. I wouldn’t shop anywhere else for my cats food and treats

I went here for the first time about a week ago, and the staff was very helpful, and amazing! The prices are better on the dog food than most places, the staff even helps you load your car. I will be back for all of my dogs needs!

I have been getting my Chicken feed and pine shavings from this store for about 3 months, I have to say that it’s such an amazing, clean place! I love the variety of everything they carry, the only problem I have with it is that the big 40 – 50 pound chicken feed prices are not on the shelfs so you can’t stand there and decide you have to ask them at the counter and be rushed to decide. Also some lady worker in there needs an attitude check! That’s the only problem, the customer service isn’t so great. But I will defiantly keep going there because their variety is pretty good compared to Wilco.

Customer service is OK. Went and bought a bird bath with cash. Next day returned it because it just wasn’t right. They said all returns would for «in store credit only». NO I WANT MY CASH BACK. Anyway we did our cash back with them doing this time only. Won’t go back. Policies here suck

I’ve been going to this quaint little feed-​store for years. Recently, they have moved out of their historic building (circa 1889) and built a nice building with ample space right next door. The new facility boasts lots of light, space to display many new products and an outside greenhouse. The customer service is very down-​home and friendly. You just can’t find this kind of business anymore, it’s a joy to do my shopping and support this growing local business.

Orchards is a good place for feed. A bit more expensive than the other feed store I go to. Poultry feed is 4.99 for a gallon (I can get it for 30 cents a pound elsewhere). I came here to buy a feeder, waterer, and feed for my quails. The store is well supplied. We had no problem finding what we needed. My dog loves the rabbit meat stick we bought here. The staff were friendly. I absolutely love the location since it is six minutes from my house.

I LOVE this place! We have two cats and a dog and there isn’t anything I can’t get here. We use a premium dog & cat food and they always have it in stock. Recently we had to change our older cat to a senior blend that they didn’t carry and they were more than happy to bring it in for us. We usually take our dog in with us. She’s a little people shy but the employees here always have a treat and a pet for her. She now actually looks for them behind the counter! LOL
Great customer service, excellent product selection and I get to buy from a locally owned, small business too!

Love these guys! I get all sorts of things here. Dog food, wood pellets that I use for cat litter, vaccines for the animals, landscaping stones and all sorts of fun little things. They have great prices on dog food, they have a great variety of stuff in a small space including interesting things that you don’t see other places and they have great clearance sales regularly. Always friendly, helpful faces and unlike other places you can get in and out quickly and they even carry stuff out to your car for you!
They are expanding right now so they’ll have even more for you and Cascade Greenhouse is right there now too! Go, you won’t be sorry!

Great variety, great store, great service! This store is jam packed with all kinds of animal-​related food, toys, and equipment.
We headed in here to pick-​up vaccines for our new kittens. They had exactly what we needed for an exceptionally reasonable price. The vaccine is refrigerated, so bring a cooler or head straight home. This particular vaccine required mixing the sterile fluid with the powder and then, injecting it under the skin below the elbow. It all went very smoothly. It was easy!
The staff was friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be back to explore their other offerings.

I buy my chicken food here and it’s a fast stop. Run in, pay and pull around back where a guy will probably already have you feed ready to load. That’s good service and that’s why I buy here now instead of the big farm store in Battle Ground.

Never knew you could buy dog vaccinations at a feed store and for super cheap. I’m boarding my dogs next week and needed the bordetella/​kennel cough vaccine. Both of them HATE the vet so I asked if I could just buy the vaccinations without an exam and administer at home since it’s just nasal. They said no, but suggested orchards — said they can sell everything but rabies.
Cute store with a good variety of pet supplies, horse tack, an extensive gardening section and even cute baby ducks and chickens in the back.
Well organized, clean and staff was extremely nice helpful. It’s a little out of the way for me, but I may start vaccinating at home to avoid the stress of hauling my monsters to the vet once/​yr.
Btw bordetella was $ 6/​dose and super easy to administer — kit comes with a pipette to suck up the dilutant. Add to the vaccine, mix up and spray in your dogs nose from pipette.

This place is great for most animals. I buy dog food here, they carry some pretty good brands. If you have horses or chickens, or any other farm animals like that, they carry all kinds of foods and supplies. Feed, Hay, Straw, Gates, Troughs, you name it. It is a small place, but everyone is very friendly. I usually carry my dog food selection to the counter and they take it from me and carry it to my car for me! Try getting that at a large pet store.
