Okay — tried it a second time the next night (see my original review below). Bumping my rating up to five stars (compared to similar Mexican themed restaurants). The food was still excellent, priced well and the service was great (must have been an «off» night the previous evening). I would recommend this restaurant for casual Mexican cuisine.
Review 2÷29÷16:
First time here. Arrived at approximately 5:50 PM for dinner on a Monday. On the pro side, the restaurant was well lit, clean with a bright, vibrant color scheme. Plenty of parking space at that time in the strip mall lot as well. The food itself (ordered Taquitos Rancheros and a Burrito dinner) was quite good and priced well for what you received ($ 31 total, with tax, for the two meals and two drinks). On the con side, although the two wait staff were very friendly, the service left a lot to be desired. When we arrived I could see that only five of the approximately ten to twelve tables were occupied and there were two wait staff (one of whom was assisting a patron at the checkout counter as we stood next to it). The wait person at the counter did not acknowledge us in any way (would have expected at least a «Welcome» and «I’ll be right with you»). We stood there for approximately 4 – 5 minutes, the only customers waiting, without any contact (there was, apparently, a problem with the person’s bill) before the second waitress came and seated us at one of the vacant tables in the first waitress’ section. It took another eight minutes before the first waitress came by to take our order. Then it took 26 minutes for our order to arrive which seems a bit long compared to comparable Mexican themed restaurants of this type (and the Burrito was chicken instead of the beef we ordered — didn’t bother mentioning it given the time already spent). We had to ask for a second set of silverware and napkin. Also, asked our waitress for a refill on the chips about 15 minutes in to our 26 minute wait for dinner but she didn’t refill them, she forgot apparently. The second waitress brought out our food and, after asking her, some more chips.
Not sure what was going on with the pace, frequency and accuracy of the service (again though, both wait staff, when they did make contact, were very polite, friendly and professional). Given the atmosphere, price and quality of the food, I will take a chance and try to eat here again — just hope the service is better.

This place is fantastic! Great service, great food and generous portions. Awesome salsa and warm tortilla chips — always super fresh.
We’ve probably come here over 20 times — and will keep coming back.

I never write reviews on her byt there is a first for everything!!! Go to TACOBELL!!! SAVE YOURSELF SOME MONEY!!! Service was very slow and food was not good… MICROWAVE OR Food sat under the warming lamp too long that the cheese was burnt onto plate and made the beans and rice dry and steak became well done and dry… OWNER/​MANAGER was VERY RUDE AND NOT NICE AT ALL!!! WE We racked up a $ 200 ticket and she wouldn’t give a decent discount for our wait… we waited for over an hour for our food and then when we were done after 30 mins we had to go get our own boxes and we had to go get our own bill… we complained about the steak and other things and the server said I’ll talk to my manager… you would think the manager would have came and talked to us then, no one came to check on us after we got the rest of our food to see if we needed anymore water or something. After we went to get our boxes we asked for our ticket WE AGAIN WAITED 40 MINS JUST TO GET OUR BILL. We could have dined and dashed… everyone was gone to the cars already while we were still waiting for our bill… I have never been to such a horrible place… I WILL NEVER RETURN HERE!!!

Our favorite Mexican restaurant for date night. The food is excellent and Biddy, our usual waitress, is awesome. They have a wide variety of selections on their menu and the fresh salsa is fantastic. We probably make it out here at least twice a month and have never had anything less than a great meal and fantastic service. Love these guys!

Bland, flavorless, microwave fresh. Nothing says authentic mexican food like store bought taco shells. And the service was great if you enjoy walking around the restaurant looking for your server, because she is hanging out in the kitchen chatting with the «Cook».

We ordered Mocajete and Carne Asada Plate. Molcajete was not what I expected. It’s just nothing but canned beans and some meat on top of it. I’ve had way better one in Tacoma, WA. Carne asada wasn’t that good either. The steak meat had too much beefy flavor. Quality wasn’t there. We were with a baby and a high chair was VERY DIRTY. It was covered with bunch of food on the side. A glass on top of the table was all cracked and chipped so kids could get hurt. Dangerous. Server wasn’t happy either. She never smiled or anything. I would NOT recommend this place.

Placed an order for pick up 20 minutes in advance, when I got there my food was ready I could see it sitting in a bag on the counter top, it was between me and a group of guys that had just finished eating to pay (they were walking towards register like I was)…the woman looked at me and saw me come in and didn’t greet me so I stood there and waited for her to invite me over so I could pick up my food. she looks up again and saw the boys (chatting amongst themselves) and decided to invite/​welcome the whole group of guys over to pay… totally disregarding me (clearly in a hurry)
Then the woman was having issues with the getting the order entered in correctly for everyone. I waited but I couldn’t any longer because I was in a time crunch (whole reason I called the order in– seriously take under consideration how quickly this woman could’ve helped, my food was sitting right behind her, in my eye sight, I had payment ready in my hand. One card swipe, grab my food and I’m gone) the whole time I was there she never addressed me! Never said hello, welcome, it’ll be a moment, NOTHING! Another waitress’s had approached and asked if I was waiting to be seated!!! I pointed at the bag and I told her that’s my food, I’m waiting to pick up and she looked surprised and assured me it’ll only be a little longer…
I was SO appalled, I left!
Not only a waste of food, but also a complete waste of time.
Very VERY rude and inconsiderate of other people.
Regret choosing this place. Even if you place your order in advance no guarantee of good customer service.

I’ve been here 5 times, every time in a giant group. The staff has always been very nice and timely on bringing out our food and drinks (even when the place was packed). They had good, strong margaritas. The sangria was good, but not worth the price & didn’t have have that much alcohol in it. The deserts are amazing (especially the deep fried ice cream)!! And food is good.

Hubby and I came here for an early dinner and it was already a little busy. They were quick to get us chips n salsa n drinks n take our order. Looked like they may have needed additional staff as the seats all filled up and we noticed quite a few tables waiting. Our food came out fairly quick, was served hot and was quite delicious. I had steak fajitas, hubby had pork carnitas. Both were excellent! A great Mexican dinner place with fresh and delicious choices.

I am a huge fan of their molcajete. If you haven’t tried, it’s highly recommended. The atmosphere and service are great too.

Great food. Great prices. The only reason I give them a 4 star instead of a 5 star is because of the service. They are slow to take care of serving everyone even when the restaurant is almost empty. But we still go there because the food is worth the waiting. And I will add they have the best salsa I’ve ever eaten.

Service is great! As it should be since it’s not very crowded during meal hours there. I loved their salsa that came with the chips but the chips seemed to be store bought, not made fresh.
I ordered the Burrito Grande. It came with a very generous portion of guac which made me a very happy man.
— 1 star for not having fresh chips. You gotta have them if you want 5! ;-)
Also, they don’t have black beans. If you you don’t like re-​fried you are out of luck.

We were on a Sunday quest for queso and decided to try this place. Unfortunately they don’t have queso. Go figure. We ordered some nachos and albundigas. It was average. Service was good. Not a lot more to report.

The burrito and enchaldias had the same exact ingredients. The plates were hot to the touch, making me think they microwaved there food instead of cooking it. The service was slow. And all the food we ordered all tasted the same.

Delicious authentic Mexican! Fair prices and fast service. The portions are huge and even takeout comes with chips and salsa. I will definetly be back!

Very quick and delicious Mexican food. For under $ 8 I had chips and salsa (the salsa is perfect by the wayt) followed by the chimichanga lunch special with beans, rice, sour cream, guacamole, melted cheddar, shredded lettuce and pico.
Service is warm and friendly. Food arrives hot and fast. You will not leave hungry.

Los Pepes is not the place I will ever dine again after overhearing one of their staff instruct another worker to prepare the meat for dinner service because it was on the «brink of spoilage.» Thank goodness I understand Spanish and was made aware of this. Overall, based on my visit there, food was mediocre at best, bland and nothing special. The cost of food far exceeds the quality that is LACKING in return. After overhearing that they might be compromising the health of their customers by «taking risks» and serving substandard food, I will NEVER step foot in this restaurant again.

My family and I have been going here since it first opened, we have had some birthday dinners here and the service has always been superb! Everything is very clean and the atmosphere is lively and the décor is on par with the Mexican cuisine they serve. Every dish we have gotten is always cooked to perfection and they have generous portion sizes, today my mother and I went casually there after not going for while for lunch and it was still very great, the quality of the food has been maintained and the warm chips and salsa are TO DIE FOR. If you want some great salsa and killer nachos then this is the place to go! The prices are very affordable, this is Such a nice Mexican food restaurant In our little neighborhood I hope they Stay around for a long time!

My go to place when I want Mexican food fast. Keep in mind though, when they have large parties or if they are extremely busy, service is exceptionally slow. Even if they know a dozen or more people are coming (we’ve reserved a table for 18 on two separate occasions) at a specific time, they WILL NOT call another server or two in. I guess it’s about the almighty dollar and that’s why they only get four stars.

Do your self a favor go to Taco bell instead. This place was horrible! Horrible service, chairs that gave me slivers, and terrible food.
First off, My boss at work warned me NOT to go here saying all the things I listed above but, my husband insisted we try something new so we went. We walked in and it felt really uncomfortable there is alot of open space but, chairs and tables crammed together. we waited for 15 minutes while waitresses kept walking past us. Finally I believe it was the cook that noticed us and he sat us down. The table we were at was wobbly and broken. The chairs have rope or twine so I was pulling slivers out of my leggings and sweater all night. Next we ordered our food after waiting a really long time, And the waitress really must hate her job because she was NOT friendly at all. I asked for no sour cream or guacamole on mine.
They had sat us next to the party room, but with my chair and the table behind me, there was no room for anyone to squeeze behind me. but, the waitress wanted to set people in the room. Didn’t say excuse me. Or anything. So, I just decided to get up so the people could get through. While my food was on my table I waited for the waitress to say anything. I wanted to sit down and eat.
Next my food. It looked fine, and then I went to take a bite and I noticed green stuff on my flautas. The guacamole I had asked to not have was under neath my flautas like they tried to scrap it off but, didn’t get it all.
All in all, please do yourself a favor. Don’t waste your money here. I should have listened to my boss when she told me not to go here.
