I have gone to Kindee Thai about 7 times. Each time I’ve gone and ate inside the restaurant it has been great. However I’ve ordered to go food about 2 times now. One of my favorite items is the Pineapple Fried Rice. Every time I’ve ordered it to go the don’t put pineapple in it. How do you not put pineapple in the pineapple fried rice? The first time I thought they just made a mistake but then the second time I ordered it again and they«forgot» again. I feel like its there way of getting out of putting an expensive ingredient into my rice to cut cost. Which is bull because the rice is 10+ dollars. I won’t be going back… Arawan Thai off mill plain will get my business from now on.

My family and I have eaten here many times and can’t wait to go back. The food is delicious and the service is great.

Kindee Thai was very good. Definitely a Thai mainstay in the NE part of Vancouver. We had the shrimp and chicken pad Thai dishes, as well as the chicken pra ram, shrimp salad rolls and some chicken satay. The ingredients seemed high quality and fresh. My sister liked the noodles; she said they weren’t too gummy – just right!

Love this place! The basil fried rice is our favorite but nothing that we have tried has disappointed. Can’t speak on dine-in service because we always take out but we never have to wait long and everything is packed well so it stays hot for the ride home.

I have to say that after reading the reviews I was not sure what to expect. The food could have been a little spicier, but it was very flavorful. I will definitely be back for more. We got 2 of the curry dishes, the bbq chicken and pad thai. All were very good.

Fast service. Called ahead for a «to go» order @ noon and it was ready for pickup in less than 15 minutes. My 4 person workgroup ordered lunch and we were all very pleased with our food. Two of us had Massuman Curry with chicken and it was DELICIOUS! I also ordered a side of peanut sauce to pour over my rice and the sauce was just so-so average. My other co-workers ordered the Panam Curry, Thai fried rice, and veggie rolls with shrimp. They said it was«excellent.» I’m looking forward to eating here again.

First I need to mention there was a long black hair in the soup. I did not want to make a scene so did not tell the server about it. This was my first visit today with my husband. We ordered Fresh Salad Rolls for appetizer, Tom Yam Soup and pad ginger with chicken for lunch today. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice but the both personal plates had cracks and chips. The serving order was all mixed up, first soup came then appetizer, waited for more than 5 minutes till pad ginger was served after we finished up the soup and salad rolls. Salad rolls can have more shrimp for extra charge but the Pad Ginger was great.

Amazing! I come here at least once a week with my family. There food is incredible best Thai I have ever had. I get chicken pad Thai, +shrimp(tails removed)+tofu –veggies. It’s a quiet hole in the wall. Music is tasteful and not distracting. Service is overall great, with the staff always happy to see a new or old customer. Very family friendly, and quick takeout service! Recommend to anyone craving something delicious.

Alright, this is my last time trusting Unilocal for restaurant reviews! I was craving Thai food so went on Unilocal and saw that Kindee had a 4.5 star review so I decided to give them a try. I ordered their BBQ chicken and chicken larb without sugar(with spice level 3). The BBQ chicken was bland and the larb tasted super sweet even though I had asked for no sugar and not spicy. Coming from a SE Asian background, I think this restaurant failed miserably! Somebody open a decent Thai restaurant in Vancouver PLEASE!!!

Great food and service! Best thai in Vancouver that we have found. Love the décor as well. Great service with both take out and dine in.

I went here with two others, and tasted all three plates… Good sized portions at reasonable prices, all served mild(nothing spicy unless specified in menu or specifically asked for), everything was a little on the sweet side for my taste, but definitely hit the spot for a Thai meal. Service was pretty good — one server(who served us at the beginning of the meal, but disappeared before our meal) seemed a little aloof, while the other was quite friendly and helpful. Also, mainly because it’s Thai, this place is definitely GFDF friendly.

Great place to get Thai in Vancouver. I’ve been there a few times just to get take out and it is very fast. The last time I went, I asked for it to be a little bit spicy because I’m used to getting asked for a scale of 1 – 5 for spice and it ended up being as spicy as can be! It would have been hard to eat if you didn’t like spicy food at all but I didn’t mind it. Just be aware if you ask for spicy, thats what you’ll get!

Underwhelming. Average Thai run by the kids of the owner. When they get busy the service drops. Overall they are very nice but the food is something you can get from a 5 $ food cart. Portions are average and sadly the location isn’t then best for traffic. No draft beer.

I’ve ordered take out over a dozen times, and so far the service has been stellar. The pad Thai is probably the best overall in all of Vancouver, let alone East ‘Couve. Portions are just, prep is standard, and the restaraunt is always clean when i go in. The only reason i couldn’t give 5 stars is because there were too many times where I’d have to alter my order because something was sold out. Wish i could give a 4.5.

This small strip Thai restaurant has the best Tom Kai soup I’ve eaten anywhere on the world. Family place very young daughter hanging there with parents. Ordered my food Thai hot and Thai chilies and fish sauce, nice in Pad Thai! Good value for best anywhere!

Staff doesn’t even know how the food is cooked. No vegetarian option since all the sauces are pre-made with fish oil and like others said, it all has a sweet taste to it. Not worth it.

I do not believe I am a Thai foodie, but I can’t say this place was all that great. To give a bit more detailed critique: the food is plentiful, but Americanized. There is a very sweet palate to the dishes we tried and no spice whatsoever. Of course, the tamari and peanut sauce taste«Thai», but in a watered down, sugared up way. I believe I could do better with a recipe from the food network at getting a true Thai taste, beyond the obligatory lemon grass; speaking of which, I think they use frozen or canned. It’s been years, but I have had Thai with fresh lemon grass, and there’s a world of difference. Fresh lemon grass compared to stored, is akin to fresh peas compared to stored. The former is bright, crisp, and bursting with complex flavor. The latter is bland, odd and singular mush. I give them a star for a clean and wide open space, a star for their prompt and friendly service, and a star for free soup and a willingness to hear a customer out. When we first arrived, I asked what was safe for those of us who are gluten intolerant.(I had called a week or so before and asked on the phone, so I wasn’t springing this on them. I simply forget what the person on the phone said was safe.) I was told plain rice and plain veggies. I became confused and clarified, do all the menu items have soy sauce, instead of tamari(what I usually see in Thai places). She says they all use tamari, not soy sauce. I ask what ingredient has gluten. She says the fish sauce. Fish sauce? I ask if soy sauce is used to make fish sauce, as I’ve never understood that to be the case. She goes in the back to ask. The entire time she is smiling, friendly and relaxed. She returns and says almost everything is gluten free. Some menu items do use soy sauce, but not many. She doesn’t know why, but she thought gluten intolerant people couldn’t eat fish, so ergo, no fish sauce. I appreciate her honesty about her confusion. Hopefully they better understand food allergies in the future. Before we our food came out, we were brought a half cup or so of soup with tofu, egg, and rice. I asked, to be sure, if this was safe for me, and she said yes. The food came out and I was shocked at the portion size. The food on the plate I was served is the same amount I usually make to feed our family of four, and this was all for one person! I am trying to be healthy(thanks to a genetic crapshoot of the top three deadly health issues), so I immediately portioned out a quarter of the portion and that is all I ate. I took home the rest and made dinner for two teenagers(both of which are active and healthy) and myself with what was left. Even the junk food riddled teens, who are far less picky about their food, stated it was too sweet. I would much rather have half the serving I received, and better quality ingredients. So to recap: 1) Very friendly and accommodating customer service, clean and well lit, large restaurant. 2) Gargantuan portions for ten to fifteen dollars. 3) Americanized, overly sweet and watered down«Thai» food. For many, this suits what they were looking for. As such, I’m sure it will be around a while. For myself, if I go out to eat for Thai, I want to know I’m eating Thai.

I freaking love this place however maybe you should think about hiring some more staff in order to support your growing business. Food is good and only decent place near home I can get decent Thai without driving into Portland or dt vancouver. Just please considering hiring another server for the busier nights saw a few just get up and walk out because of the wait.

This is probably the best Thai restaurant in Vancouver. The panang curry was delicious. The Pra Ram was good too. The prices are reasonable and the staff were very friendly. I liked the décor and everything was very clean. I can’t really say anything bad about it.
