It took a few minutes to find the place driving by because there is really no signage except for right on the door. I had an appointment at 9 am, right before business hours. One of the ladies inside anticipated me and opened the door as I was walking up. She had me both fill out some paperwork, and as I was doing so, I noticed how much the reception area felt like a doctor’s office. I’m just used to the spa/salon atmosphere, and this is definitely not that(which is not necessarily a negative thing… just different, for me). My appointment was with Robyn, whose room is literally right next to the reception desk. It was clean, calming, smelled nice, and had relaxing music playing. The table was incredibly warm and comfortable, which was wonderful since it was freezing outside. I enjoy massages purely for relaxation, and nothing irritates me more than having a conversation during. Robyn was extremely professional, and I really appreciated that she kept the chatting to a bare minimum, only asking me one or two questions about my comfort. I had no special requests or problem areas, and as far as I am concerned, she gave me basically a perfect massage. I also noticed that even though we started the appointment late(about 9:10), she still made sure that I received the full 60 minutes. I can’t say anything about the cost since it was a gift. I was pleased with the overall experience and would probably be back if I wasn’t moving away from the area in a few weeks. I do think they should attempt to soundproof the shared walls and work on making their reception area more welcoming though.

This was hands down the best massage I’ve had. Paula worked on me and I haven’t felt so relaxed in a long time, probably since we were able to chat and I felt at ease right away. I don’t like awkwardly silent massages. She asked questions about what would be comfortable for me and listened to any concerns I had. I’ve had painful tension in my shoulder and neck area when I came in and afterwards I felt so good. Technically they were booked up and when I went with my friend they were willing to stay later and squeeze her in(she was visiting from out of town). I would definitely recommend this place and especially Paula, her hawaiian massage technique Lomi Lomi was perfect.

***AVOIDTHISPLACELIKETHEBLACKPLAGUE*** So you prepay for services, make an appointment and they are not even be there when you’re scheduled… what a wonderful way to run a business. This place should sink like the Titanic– slow and painful.

After my massage, I ended up feeling worse than I did when I came in. To start, my massage therapist just handed me a form to fill out, didn’t introduce herself, made 0 effort to make me feel welcomed. If you are about to touch my naked body, it’s really important that you make a client feel welcomed and safe and comfortable. I feel like there were a lot of things that were really unprofessional about this place and did not put me at ease. A lot of unprofessional touches and distractions: a messy back room to get to the bathroom, graffiti walls in the massage room(I know they were nice notes from clients, bit I did not feel that it was at all professional or conducive to a calming space), Winnie the Pooh sheets on the massage table. Not a great start, but I can get over these things and try to have a great massage… but no. The walls are not even remotely sound proof, so while I was attempting to zone out and find a little inner peace in silence, instead I had to listen to the woman next door yammer on loudly pretty much the entire massage, it was super distracting. On top of all the physical distractions, the real thing is that the massage was uncomfortable and not what I asked for. I told my massage therapist that I wanted to focus on my jar and also my lower back because I have both endometriosis(which causes a lot of tention in my lower back) & also TMJ. I was also really clear that I have a scar behind my ear that is still a tender from a surgery last year and it hurts to apply pressure to it. I know that we had a limited amount of time, but she didn’t really touch my lower back at all which was a disappointment. Then, when she was working on my jaw, the pressure was too much, I told her that, she eased up for a minute or two and went right back to it. I was face up and she was looking at my face, she couldn’t have missed the winces of pain on my face. I reminded her again, still went back to it. She also applied a lot of pressure to the scar that I had mentioned not to do so. The whole thing with my jaw massage was painful and I couldn’t wait for it to be over… I felt so uncomfortable and so unheard that I just wanted to cry. Maybe I am a bit sensitive, but I felt really uncomfortable and kind of violated after this massage. I’ve had a lot of massages and none of them have ever made me feel so bad. My TMJ is a really difficult health condition for me and the massage made it feel dramatically worse for days after the massage. If she wasn’t sure how to handle the jaw massage, I wish she would have just told me and not touched it at all. I know this was a cheap massage, so maybe it wasn’t going to be the BEST massage I’ve ever had, but that’s not an excuse for the lack of communication and respect. I would have much rather paid 4x more and had a massage that didn’t make me feel so uncomfortable.

I received this massage as a gift. After having to schedule my appt 3 weeks out, the afternoon before my appt I get a call, telling me their cancelling it because their sick, and tried rescheduling for another 2 ½ weeks out! My appt was Friday, I moved out of town Saturday, they told me to give my gift to someone else… NOT impressed!

This place is the next best thing to Heaven! I have been going to Jim every month for a year. Scheduling is a breeze. Good Life Therapeutic Massage is located inside of Saffrons on Mill Plain in Vancouver. Someone left a review that referred to Good Life Massage as a karate studio… couldn’t be further from. The minute you walk in the front door, a sense of calm is present. Good music, smells and feel are all around. I recommend you give them a try! They wont disappoint. I promise.

This place is a hidden gem. I bought a Living Social deal and will coming back for more massages! The person who left the negative review about the massage taking place in a karate studio has her places mixed up. This massage studio is located inside a store called Saffrons, which sells healing supplies for people who have had cancer in the front and the back of the store is a nice private massage studio. The massage studio is a separate business from the Saffrons. Daniel was my masseuse and he gave one of the best massages I’ve had. I like a deep massage and he was able to give perfect pressure and made my sore back feel so much better. Even though I had a Living Social coupon the regular prices are very reasonable for how skilled my masseuse was and I will happily be returning soon!

Bottom line, a good relaxing massage for a good price. I had a male masseur whos name slips my mind :/but he was great. He listened to what I wanted and spent the majority of the hour on the knots beneath my shoulder blades. I appreciated him listening to my needs! The staff was polite and accommodating when I had to reschedule 3TIMES and they went as far as to honor my expired gift card. My only small complaint was that it was sllllightly under an hour– but who is counting? Well I was because I wanted to stay on that table forever. Also disregard the karate studio weird review. The reviewer is talking about the wrong place because none of what is written is accurate and the management at GoodLife should have taken steps to correct the review. Anyway good massage, professional setting and now a repeat customer. Yay!

Living Social helped my husband and I stumple upon this great little place. If you’re looking for a no frills massage with a therapist who knows a thing or two about actual theraputetic massage– this is the place for you. There’s no day spa or fancy-schmancy robes, but if you’re busy like us, you will appreciate what can be accomplished in one short hour here. They are located inside of Saffron’s medical and the environment is clean and friendly. They are also in the process of moving into a larger room which will allow for couples massages. We will definitely be back!
