I still love their food, but I am hoping that they get someone to do a good, deep cleaning of the dining room carpet and curtains, while they are on vacation. The place is starting to look pretty dingey.

SOPLEASED With our take out we picked up here today. Our first time here, and was worried because of the not so good Chinese food we’ve had since moving here in the surrounding area. We ordered: Wonton Soup, Walnut Shrimp Prawns, Mongolian Beef, Kung-Pao chicken. Wonton Soup: amazing! Flavorful broth, great wontons and yummy mushroomed Walnut Shrimp: Amazing! & even better the broccoli it came with was cooked, which I’ve never seen! So we added it to our meat entrees. Mongolian Beef: Pretty Good! Just wish it was a smidge more spicy Kung-Pao Chicken: Was okay! Wasn’t wowed, pretty basic flavor. Had peanuts which I like! Just wish it had some sort of veggie with it. So happy we found good Chinese food! Can’t wait to try new things at our next visit!

Love how everything was cooked to the perfect temperature. Hot and sour soup, Kung Pao Chicken and Cashew Chicken, highly recommended.

First time here, and things did not start off well. The place is brightly lite up, way too bright. Other than 1 large party, the place was empty and this was during prime time on a Saturday night. Started off with 3 appetizers, and in my memory I can’t recall any worse than these. The BBQ is cut from cheaper pork loin rather than tenderloin, it’s tough, dry, and the translucent red dipping sauce did not help. The«fantail shrimp» are not even close to the real thing. Rather than jumbo shrimp butterflied and lightly battered, these were about the size of your little finger(too small to butterfly) and dredged in a HUGE amount of batter. No dipping sauce was served. And then there is the potstickers… The wrapping was several times thicker than any we have ever had, way, way too thick. The filling inside seemed to be pre-cooked, so it lacked the fresh flavors and juiciness of a typical potsticker. My wife had one bite and that was it. Needless to say we did not finish any of our appetizers. The entrees however were a nice surprise. The General Tso’s Chicken was excellent, and the Moo Shu Pork was very good(though like most every other Chinese joint these days the pancakes they use are more like flour tortillas rather than the traditional paper-thin crepes, and the hoisin sauce seemed a bit watered down). The Szechuan Shredded Pork was pretty good, but not as good as the other 2 dishes. So really a mixed bag. It appears their chef can cook pretty well, they just choose to go the cheapest route possible on the appetizers and it clearly shows. What the owner needs to understand is it sets a bad tone for the rest of the meal. Our server was very attentive, and very nice, so no problem there. But I’m not a fan of operating room bright restaurants so if I lived in the area I would probably stick to take-out, and certainly avoid ordering any of the appetizers. Oh, with no website the owner really needs to post their business hours on Unilocal

The food was alright. Not worth dealing with the poor customer service. My fiancé order a drink which he never got and we were only checked on once. We also waited forever for the check. If we ever eat here again it will only be take out.

so it’s super hard for some reason to find decent chinese food in portlandia… no one knows why. but, since i’m in no-po this place is close and it’s a very solid place. The food is kind of like a good version of pf chang’s. only betterand probably cheaper. now the ambiance… well that’s another story, but i only go for take out.

This place was not staffed for large parties. Party of 9 and one ticket for 2 meals lost. No rice served until 4 entrees on table. Then it was $ 5.50 per person for appetizer plate. Though the menu read:$ 5.50 per platter minimum 2 people. Do not recommend this restaurant. Big portions though.

We decided to try this place after reading some of the recent reviews and we were amazed by this place! It’s a quaint little restaurant hidden in the strip mall but the food and service at outstanding. We ordered the king pao beef and the sesame chicken, both highly recommended to try. The beef was super tender and the chicken was lightly battered unlike some other Chinese restaurants that use heavy batter for their fried products. The white rice tasted like what you would get at home, super fluffy, and not dry and hard as a rock the next morning. There was such wonderful and fresh flavors in both dishes and we will definitely be back.

For American Chinese these guys are good, and based on the clientele that was in when we eat there they are doing a good job. The Sesame Fish we had was really good but for the drive out to this place from our house I don’t think we will be back.

Superb! Stopped by today around dinner time after hike with the dog– first time getting Chinese take out in Vancouver, and I saw it got really good reviews on here … And there it was — a warm, delicious quality meal ready to go within 10 – 15 minutes. These guys are great.

Was craving chinese food and tried to find this place. Mapquest gets you lost if you put in the address for here(just a heads up). Google maps got me there but it’s in a corner strip mall sorta lot with a gas station. I honestly cannot say if I like their food because apparently they are closed Mondays(the day I tried to find them). I am giving a 3 star rating because I was unaware of their hours of operation(they have a full menu on Unilocal but no hours??). Will update if I decide to go back when they are open(not Monday lol).

Creative dishes, always carefully prepared. Reasonable prices and friendly staff. Everything on the menu is good but I’ve had spotty luck with the daily specials on the white board. I don’t think they change them very often. Their soups are terrific. Hot and Sour is very good, but the Seafood Velvet even better. Writing this is making my mouth water and I just finished eating Italian tonight. Try it; you’ll enjoy it.

We have lived here for a year and finally found our go-to Chinese restaurant thanks to fellow Unilocaler’s reviews! The service was great, the restaurant pleasantly clean, and the food was fantastic. Green bean chicken, house special fried rice, Kung pau chicken, lemon chicken, and General Tsao chicken… all superb! We will continue to drive the extra miles to get to this little hidden gem.

This is my favorite Chinese food restaurant, anywhere, not just Vancouver. Their food is high quality, super fresh tasting and really well prepared. Service has always been really friendly and quick. Seriously everything we’ve ordered from here has been awesome. But if I had to pick favorites I’d say the wanton soup and scallion pancakes.

Chinese food is always my «go to food» so I decided to visit this restaurant one night, when I got there it was 65% full which is a good sign. I ordered veggie spring rolls and kung pao tofu, veggie rolls were yummy, hot and crispy. The kung pao tofu was pretty bland which I found disappointing! Most places add in a good amount of different veggies and this was just a bunch of tofu in a light sauce with a sprinkle of peanuts and peppers. I wish it was more flavorful considering tofu needs a lot to soak up and become flavorful. If I return and reorder the tofu I would probably ask for extra sauce. Service was fine, the give you a fortune cookie and oranges at the end.

A group of 5 of us went for my grandma’s 90 birthday. She wanted Chinese but we where sick of the shit places in Battle Ground. The place was a little hard to find but I account that more off I was trying find the place for the first time in the rain and the dark. Food is really good. We ordered… Sweet and Sour Chicken Tso’s Chicken Beef and Broccoli Shimp and Snow Peas Moo Shoo Pork It all came with steamed rice so it was plenty of food for 5 of us. And they served us fresh fruit after dinner. The sauce on the Sweet and Sour Chicken was so light, and flavorful. And the breading was GREAT. General Tso’s Chicken needed some more spice. I don’t want to give you a play by play but that is the highlights. I wish they had served us soup before dinner, but that’s a small thing.

I’ve been to two Chinese restaurants in Vancouver, and the other one was absolutely foul. Golden City… awesome! We got orange chicken, beef with broccoli, pork fried rice, and BBQ pork. I loved the beef with broccoli because the beef was tender and the flavor was excellent. My husband didn’t care for his orange chicken and he said the pork fried rice was greasy. I will stand behind him on that one… but as far as I’m concerned, greasy is delicious. :) Now, I really did enjoy this place but I’ve never in my entire life waited so long for Chinese food. It was a Saturday night and this place is pretty small. Despite that fact, I still waited 45 minutes after my arrival for my take-out order. That was while leaving 10 minutes after I placed the order. I’m still willing to give it another chance and even sit down to eat. Just know that this place is busy, busy busy if you do decide to go. I would consider five stars if it didn’t take so long to get my food, otherwise this place is the bomb.

I have eaten here maybe six or seven times over the years and the food is always good. The same young people are always there working from open to close, a very hard working group, maybe they are a family, I never asked. Anyway, I have yet to have anything I didn’t like here. We live above 99th street and you can drive five miles in any direction and not find a single place other than Applebee’s(corporate food) and the infamous Super Taco(two guys and a griddle) worth eating at. I have lived here for 16 years and it never improves! So, thankfully there is Golden City for Chinese, but as always American Chinese food is greasy and salty. The Chicken with Vegetables stir fry with brown sauce was very good, but I forgot to tell them to use half the sauce. People in the Couve like their food swimming in grease, deep fried, and extra salty. God forbid there is any hot spice. But I love hot spice so when I ask for it hot, it comes Couve style, not hot. Now I want to go get some Chinese food at Golden City.
