Dick Hannah Subaru

This review is for the Subaru Service Department. One of the reasons to buy a Subaru is the uniformly excellent service and this place is one of the best. The other reason is that they are the best all around Pacific Northwest car made as far as safety and reliability. My opinion of course. If they made a hybrid, over half of people would own them. Subaru surveys customer satisfaction which is why they excel at it. As they say in the business world, people perform to what they are held accountable to as far as measurement and feedback. Pretty quick service at reasonable rates. The staff here are among the best on the west coast. Really great people. They wash your car too. Be sure to check in. Today they had a $ 25 discount for Unilocal checking in. Pretty cool.

What a terrific experience buying a new car at Dick Hannah Subaru. Susan Heath was terrific, Ammar was funny and quite helpful as well.

I’ve been through the sales, service, and parts departments, and they’re okay. Service is the best of the bunch, IMO.
Like many dealers, they valued the car they sold me at the top of the range, while valuing my trade-​in at the bottom of the range. I hadn’t done my homework before arriving at the dealer, so I have no one to blame but myself, but I do feel as if I was taken advantage of to the tune of a few thousand dollars.
The car I bought was Certified Pre-​Owned, and the salesperson went through a detailed description of how the coverage was bumper-​to-​bumper («I was able to get you this extended coverage,» making it sound as if they were doing me a favor, rather than just selling me the identical extended warranty that is probably available to every CPO buyer). It wasn’t made clear to me at the time that the CPO coverage was powertrain only, and that the bumper-​to-​bumper coverage would cost me over $ 2000 extra. I fault the salesperson for the faulty communication, but they were quick to cancel the extra coverage when I asked them to.
I get the impression that the folks at the dealership «Believe in Nice» in only certain parts of their operation.

When we were looking to buy a new car, I was willing to drive to eastern Washington just to avoid dick hannah. I ended up trying the subaru dealership since I’ve never been to dick hannah subaru. On arrival we were greeted by Abdul quddos. He gave us our space and did not jump on us like a flea to a dog. He answered all of our questions and helped us look at a car without being pushy at all. The next day we returned and asked for Abdul, the other salesman were all very nice and helpful while we waited for Abdul to arrive. We ended up buying n outback from abdul. The process was great no back and forth jerkin anyody around. Just straight to the point. At one time abdul needed another salesman. To come over and explain something, his name was CURTIS… Curtis was a total jerk. He was rude and condescending and talk down to us while being extremely pushy. I ended having to tell abdul to not bring Curtis back to us again. Curtis almost cost abdul our sale. My wife and I were so close to ending the Deal due to curtis. Once he was out of the picture it was smooth sailing. After arriving it was 3 hours later we bought our new car and we’re on our way. I will recommend the subaru dealership to anyone. Especially abdul this guy’s rocks… BUT STAY AWAY FROM CURTIS unless you like that pushy arrogant salesman sterotyp… this dude is the front man for that.

We recently moved to the area, and were looking for a dealership that we could trust. We got a recommendation from a good friend that Dick Hannah Subaru was the way to go. Initially, we went to the dealership planning on simply test driving cars, and dipping our toes into the car buying market. Bassam Aamoudi was the salesman that greeted us, and we immediately knew that we would be buying from him. He made us feel very comfortable with the questions that we had, explained the car buying process to us and worked hard to get us in every car that was on our list for us to have a test drive. We had researched cars before coming in, and had been looking at hybrids, so we settled on a 2016 XV Crosstrek Hybrid. Bassam took us out in one, and was one of the most friendly, down to earth car salesmen that I have ever met. He was very professional, but also made us feel like friends from the start. I am a chef, and we talked about food and all of his favorite Portland places to eat.
After our test drives, we were interested in pursuing the purchase — Bassam and the team were extremely efficient in getting us valuations for our trade-​ins and starting the process. We were offered more than we thought we would get for our trade-​ins, and were able to talk the price of our Crosstrek down to below MSRP — so we decided to buy that evening. That being said, the main reason that we felt comfortable buying that night came down to Bassam, and how much we like and trusted him. Amar helped us with the final paperwork, and he was amazing as well. The entire staff was friendly, helpful and way more approachable than any other dealership that I have ever been involved with.
Such an easy and pleasurable experience, I would recommend Dick Hannah Subaru and Bassam Aamoudi to anyone looking for a new Subaru!

Overall a very small Subaru dealer with very limited inventory. Most cars are parked on a side lot by a closed Newport Bay restaurant in the shopping complex. There were no Impreza’s available to view and it looked to only have 2 salesmen on the lot on a busy weekend. Car doors are locked with limited staff preventing you from seeing the cars. The cars also often did not have the price tags on them making it hard to get an idea of prices. I highly encourage you to make the drive up north to Seattle to look at Subaru’s or even east on I-​90 to Spokane/​Idaho to look at dealers. Seattle and Spokane are a huge Subaru markets are for some reason this just is not the case in Vancouver. It looks like Dick Hannah decided last minute to be a Subaru vendor without taking the time to make the same experience as other Dick Hannah lots.

I bought my Subaru from Dick Hannah six years ago. The car has ran great with minor repairs. All of a sudden I started having an issue with my ignition. I called the service department to get a quote. I was told that they will do an initial inspection and if they can’t find anything wrong they will charge me $ 125. But wait… There IS something wrong and if you can’t figure it out you are charging ME? Then she proceeded to tell me that the service manager had never heard of such an issue. Funny, because when I Google the issue, it seems to be common with Subarus. So, now I’m made feel dumb and overall unimportant. Bad form Dick Hannah. I was thinking of trading in and upgrading soon, but maybe with a different dealership this time. One who treats their customers right. Very disappointing.

Had a great experience while purchasing the car of our dreams from Dick Hannah. Peter & Dee were very helpful & straight forward. Couldn’t have asked for a better fist time buying experience. Thank you so much for your patience & for the crosstrek, We love it!

When it comes to buying cars suffice to say I’ve been through the process several times. Everything from Honda, Toyota, Audi, Cadillac, Chevy, Mazda, and now Subaru I feel each car buying experience comes down to the people you’re dealing with both in sales and finance that determine how nice the outcome is. So I suppose the question comes down to why did this dealership get a 5 star rating from me… The answer is simple, the people.
I think it’s important to know going into any car negotiation that it’s exactly that… A negotiation. The sales people help you find the car, the finance people do their best to make the dealership money, and the final finance guy sells upgrades, service agreements etc. If you go in understanding that it’s a business and that you always have the ability to walk away, I’m sure more people will have a pleasant car buying experience. I always feel like it’s a game, but perhaps that’s just the sick way I like to pass the time… Anyway, on to the people that made this deal happen.
I worked with Bassam as my primary point of contact and he was the reason I decided to buy from this dealership. Sales is a craft, and he owns his craft. He listened to what I was looking for and was patient while I drove several different models. He understood the inner workings of the car, the various options and features, and was able to guide me through their inventory of XV Crosstreks to find the one I ultimately purchased.
When it came to negotiating price I will say there was a lot of back and forth, but as I said before its to be expected. General rule of thumb… If you can get the car out the door tax included for the «sale» price you are probably at least in the right ball park. There was a lot of stress on getting a preliminary application done so they knew they weren’t wasting their time. I refused the first time I came down and ultimately walked despite the deal being within the realm of acceptability as I wanted a better price. A couple days later I competed their forms and they got me the price I was looking for. It was a little strange having an application put out so early in the sales process, but not the fault of Bassam, must just be the way they operate. They will negotiate without it, so if you know your credit going in, it will be very helpful. I didn’t want any inquiries on my credit until I was absolutely sure I was buying the car from them. I believe the sales manager Michael was as friendly as a sales manager can me and considerin his job is to help the dealership make a profit I feel we were as friendly as could be. Kenny Nguyen in finance was great at getting me out the door without having to try to up sell me unnecessary upgrades or packages.
Apologies for the long post but I feel that with all the moving parts in buying car that all aspects should be discussed. I’m very happy with my purchase and I would buy again from them as long as Bassam is there to help. If you’re in the market for a Subaru go to Dick Hannah, ask for Bassam, mind the things mentioned earlier and you will have an exceptional experience.

At the end of the day, I was very satisfied with my experience at Dick Hannah. It was a car buying experience, so of course there was some haggling and negotiating. But after all was said and done, this dealership made me an awesome offer and now I’m driving my first ever brand new car. I worked directly with Mohammed. Mohammed is an extremely friendly salesman who continues to be helpful even after my purchase! I definitely recommend going in to see Mohammed if you wind up at this dealership. 5 stars for a good first car buying experience.

Ian Pearce was our salesman and did an excellent job! We got a very nice new Subaru Impreza at a price that worked for us. It took a long time, but they made sure we had everything we needed, including a great deal on insurance through Allstate, before we left.

Apparently they didn’t get the memo on «believe in nice «. I was there 4÷8÷15 at 1200, greeted by a alleged salesman who never gave me his name. Unknowledgable about what pzev means, 5 minutes in he walks off and passed me off to another salesman who didn’t have a name either. Number 2 went to find number 1, 10 minutes later I left. I am buying a new legacy, obviously not from Dick Hannah. If the dealer cares, I was the one in the red Ford explorer since you didn’t care enough to even ask my name. I bet you don’t care enough to even respond to this post! Thanks for letting me know what Dick Hannah really believes in.

I haven’t had any problems with the parts department. But the service department here seems to be a rip off. I was having trouble with my air injection pump on my 06 Forester XT. I took out the relay to the pump, which could of been causing the problem and brought it over to them. I asked them if they could test it for me before buying a new one for $ 20. They said their Tech would charge me $ 35 to test it. It takes 2 mins for them to hook it up and test it. I went to O’Rielly auto parts and they tested it at no charge. It took them 2 mins to do it.

I had my tires rotated here on my 2015 coupe and they told me my oil filter (that I had just had put in) was leaking. I told them I’d handle it myself. Left, cleaned up the oil around the filter, one week and 1,000 miles later (I live in California and drove back down), there is NO oil. They loosened the filter so there would be oil, trying to get me to do an unnecessary oil change for NO reason. I would never trust this service department. Especially considering the check in woman was also incompetent. I took before and after photos for documentation, but unfortunately cannot post them with my review. No wonder why this place has 2 ½ stars, they are dishonest.

Ah, 1 star nothing less than that?
Went in today to buy a used Subaru or Prius. Was greeted by one salesman, then almost immediately transferred to another salesman, Jean Paul. During the course of our initial encounter, he seemed like an average, rookie car salesman. I asked technical and mechanical questions, however I could not get a straight answer or at least some kind of feeling like he could find out for us. We were there for almost 4 hours and were originally chauffeured halfway to their Kelso dealership, then turned around because we were promised midway a lease on a 2015 Impreza for $ 200/​mo with our 1k down payment.
NO! No one cared to take the time to understand what we even wanted and kept showing us sedans once we returned that we clearly did not want. After being lied to about figures two times we walked out, then hustled backed in with another deal to find out they were once again lying!
Long story short: We walked down to Dick Hannah Honda ten minutes after walking out and gave them our business — They care!

Bought my new Crosstrek from Dee about two weeks ago. I had an amazing experience! I truly wasn’t planning on buying a car that night. Came in about an hour before close just to see in person the cars I had looked at online. Dee took the time to show me through the different models and really help me land on a car that fit my needs. She took her time showing me all the different trim levels and letting me test drive. Ultimately I fell in love with the Crosstrek. The experience was so smooth and low pressure that I ended up driving home a new car. The standout part for me was that, even though I knew it was well after closing time and I’m sure everyone wanted to get home, they never once rushed me. I’m typically pretty damn careful not to be that guy but they were so attentive that I honestly didn’t realize they were closed until I went to sign paperwork.
This experience was a stark contrast from the experience I had earlier that morning at a centrally based Portland dealership Subaru earlier that morning. Said dealership is much closer to my home but Dick Hannah is well worth the drive. I’d highly recommed the short trip up there if you’re in Portland or Salem. Ask for Dee. She’ll treat you right!

My boyfriend recently bought a car here, and never have I encountered such inappropriate sales rep behavior. The actual buying process was fine. It took longer than anyone would like, but nonetheless got a decent deal on the subaru he was looking into.
After the buying process, some girl named Savannah texted him not once, not twice, but four times at all hours of the day asking him to do the survey on this site. I work in sales, and surveys are a huge part of our metrics, but not important enough that I text my customers constantly asking them to do it. If getting good feedback is a priority, the business owner or manager should be calling the customers asking for feedback.
In addition, when his license plates arrived, more texts were sent. The business should be calling their customers for these types of things.

I want to take a few minutes to talk about the people that make Dick Hannah Subaru the only place I have shopped for automobiles for the last 10 years.
Everyone that I have dealt with over this span of time has been fantastic and exceeded all of my expectations.
Starting with Kamal, Amar, Curtis, Kenny, Mike, Andrew, Frank, Dee and Moe. Every single one of these folks have nothing but my best interests at and it shows!
As long as Hannah keeps these people staffed at this dealership I will shop nowhere else and will continue to purchase Subaru vehicles.

Yes, I understand your job relies on moving cars. Yes, I understand that the dealership has to make money too. However, anyone with any internet savvy can look up prices, trade in values, and reviews on cars… you are not an expert because you spent 3 hours on a computer becoming Subaru certified…
Stop lying, stop trying to get me sign today. When you bring your «closer,» maybe tell him to stop being so arrogant and condescending.
I purchased the car because it’s what I wanted, and I was asked to give my salesman a good review, and if I did, he would send a $ 20.00 Starbucks gift card. I did. He didn’t.

I purchased a new 2015 Subaru from Dick Hannah last week and am pretty happy with the car and deal I received. My intention was to drive several different car models in the Dick Hannah mega-​car-​shopping-​complex after a wrong turn in NE Portland left me traveling north on I-​5. I was impressed with the Forester’s power, grace and efficiency. I ended up with a super cute associate, Sarah, who was noticeably new and not your typical aggressive sales person. She was really nice and let me set up boundaries. I was clearly not looking to buy a car that day. So what did I do? I bought a car.
They didn’t give me what I was looking for on my trade in but they gave me a great price on the new vehicle. I already had my financing set up through my bank but went with their credit union after they gave me an excellent rate. The paper work was tedious and sitting through the sales pitches for upgraded coverage, add ons, etc was frustrating. I was happy to get out of there but Sarah couldn’t have been a better fit for my style of car buying.
The good price and friendly service were worth the drive and I recommend them. Do your homework before or take a wrong turn on the freeway and wing it. Either way, you’re in good hands.
