Bright Now! Dental

My son was told he had 5 cavities! He got a second opinion elsewhere and was told her has NO cavities!!! SCAMMERS!!!
My other son and I were told we needed deep cleanings which weren’t all covered by insurance and would have paid them higher. We went elsewhere and were told no deep cleaning were necessary! Watch out for these people. :((Sad that you can’t trust a Dentist office. They should be Sanctioned for lying and stealing. No stars deserved but the system requires at least one…

Dr. Pearson and Dr. Gillespie are caring and talented dentists. I trust them with my smile and I am a dental hygienist! I have worked with several dentists and I recommend my friends and family to have dental treatment under the care of these excellent doctors.

Bright Now! was the last link in a chain of fools.
To be fair, by ‘fools,’ I don’t actually mean idiots. I do, however, mean kafka-​esque bureaucracy combined with dull, complacent mediocrity bordering on incompetence.
The first link was Cover Oregon. This debacle was well covered in the media. I blame Tea Party infiltrators. It took nine months to get coverage, and, well over a year later, it still somehow hasn’t resolved, despite being taken over by
and then Oregon Health Plan. But, that isn’t exactly Bright Now!‘s problem.
The next link was so-​called Dental Health Services, clearly a cut-​rate organization. They use what sounds like outsourced appointment setters, possibly those that are incarcerated. I can’t think why else the CSR’s would be so dull, mediocre, bureacratic, and unthinking. They failed to send me the information I needed (and that they’d promised) via snail mail, so I couldn’t get an appointment. A month went by. I hadn’t even enrolled, and they insisted on charging me for that month.
I spent an hour on the phone with them answering mundane questions, sometimes as many as four times each. they hadn’t bothered to streamline their questionnaires, so every time the CSR went to another screen, she had to ask the overlaps again. It took two calls for them to get my address right. It took about fifteen minutes to explain that I needed an afternoon appointment, because I work nights.
It took an extra twenty minutes to print out the insurance card they’d given me — something was wrong with the PDF, and I had to use a screenshot to get the pertinent info.
Two down, one to go.
I got stuck in traffic on the way to the appointment. Bright Now’s offices are all in far-​flung suburbs, and the closest one to me was eight miles away up I-​5, in Salmon Creek. I tried to call to let them know I was going to be late, but their phone system had recently been ‘centralized,’ meaning you could no longer call the office. You had to call some office in Texas. I spent twenty minutes trying to find their number. I left a message somewhere.
When I got there the receptionist was, apparently, filing her nails. There were only two people waiting, and both had magazines in their laps. The phone was not ringing. Apparently the ‘central’ corporate system hadn’t bothered to ring through to the office.
The receptionist then explained that since I was half an hour late, they’d have to see me tomorrow. Was 9 AM ok? (This is just a few hours after I go to bed!)
I told her, «you people can’t even answer your telephone, and I’m supposed to trust you — and pay you — to put sharp things in my mouth? Forget it… YOU’RE FIRED!»
I’m still getting wierd automated emails and soul-​less boiler-​room voicemails from Dental Health Services.
Absolutely terrible. I was waay better off with the dental students at OHSU and some dental policy I got off the internet!

Wish I could give one star. I made an appointment for a cleaning and when I arrived they said they could only do the X-​rays, but that I could wait and see if the next patient showed up in the next twenty minutes. I decided to leave and then made an appointment the following day during my lunch. After waiting for 30 minutes, I told them that I couldn’t stay because it was taking too long. I agree that the receptionist is also super rude. Oh, they also told me that I have serious tooth decay, which is funny because I have never had cavities and don’t currently have cavities or gum disease. I’ve always been told by other dentists that I take great care of my teeth. I think they were just trying to scam me out of money, maybe by having me opt for unnecessary procedures!

The african american front desk girl is full of attitude and very unpleasant. I am definitely going to a different dental office.

What a shame my insurance company is contracted with this chain. I was disappointed over and over by this particular location and will never return for myself or my three children. The office staff is rude, if not indifferent and have completely soured my experience. I waited 6 months (yes 6) for a preauth on a bite guard to come through because according to them my insurance *lost* the preauth. My ins had no record of them submitting the request. After calling several times to check on the status I asked the office manager to please notify me when it came through. Instead I received an eob from my insurance stating they paid bright now two months prior in full for the guard and no one called me to notify me. When I confronted them on it the girl tried to deny it. They consistantly botched appt times for myself and coworkers. I get off work at 5 and would schedule appts for 5:15. Anytime I did this they woukd tell me I had missed my appt and that it was put down as 5pm. This happened three times with myself and with 2 other coworkers. On my final visit here, I was made to wait over 45 minutes to be seen (by the way they always use the same lame excuse that the orthodontist was working on patients so they had one less chair, you would think they would allow for that) when I was checking out, the hygenist apologized to me for the wait, which I was content with. As soon as he did this the receptionist interrupts him and says she doesn’t understand what he’s apologizing for, when she goes to see a doctor she expects a wait. Way to fail at customer satisfaction! The office staff here completely tainted any positive experience I might possibly have enjoyed, had I decided to put up with this location any longer. No thanks, I’d rather visit a dental clinic that values their patients.
