I became an Esthetician in June of 2008. I instantly fell in love with waxing. I strive to give the brazilian that I want for myself… I’m very thorough, professional and make sure to help you thru each step of the process.

When I’m not at work, I spend time with my friends and family, play with my dogs, garden and hang with my boyfriend’s kids.

I’ve been going here for over 5 years now and Amanda Westmont is my esthetician. I can’t recommend her highly enough. She is thorough, professional, and a total sweetheart. She made me feel at ease from minute one and has always done an exceptional job. I am a customer for life and cannot imagine going anywhere else for waxing service.

I guess to be fair I should say this is my only experience in Brazilian waxing. I don’t go anywhere else because I don’t need to!
I had my first one when I was 39 weeks-​ginormously-​pregnant-​which means I couldn’t even hardly do anything to prepare for what I thought would be debilitating pain. Well, boy o boy was I surprised. What a positive experience! I assumed that it would be awkward for all parties but it was super cool. Very professional but also laid back and easy to chit chat and make the time go by. It is fast and the pain is not bad (and I am a notorious wuss). Most importantly the results were awesome. I will never go back to my previous hair status knowing what I know now. I have been going here about once a month-​ish for over a year. I have had a wax done by everyone. Valerie is my regular but if I am in a pinch for scheduling I go with any of the other gals. I have experienced great results by each. I tell anyone who is interested in this service about this place because I truly think it is the best around.
One last thing – the finipil is really great. I always use it and never get the undesired but sometimes common after effects.

First time going into have a Brazilian done. Anna Was very flexible when scheduling my appointment at the last minute. Really easy to find location. A friend of mine told me about this salon and I’m glad she did. Affordable prices. Knowledge before and after care appreciated that. Anna is a very spunky pleasant gal. I appreciated the way she made me feel very comfortable while doing the service. I will be definitely returning for my future waxing needs.

Kari is tour de force of waxing. Her skill, conversation, environmental setup and focus on my comfort all add up to a five star experience.
Not only does she shine during individual appointments but she figures out how to make future dates even easier too. In my case she figured out that 5 weeks was the optimal waxing time and custom tailored a home skin care routine to boot!
Kari truly cares, listens and takes care of clients which is why I consider it a privilege to be in her care at Bare Down There. ^_^

Just simply amazing!!! I called as a pretty much last minute appointment before my vacation and Anna managed to get me in there to rip out some hair! All I have to say is between the silly conversation bouncing all over the place to the clean, soothing atmosphere, I felt so comfortable and it was not as awkward as my first time getting waxed at all! (Which was elsewhere). This is my first Unilocal recommendation because I am usually lazy about these things but how well things turned out made me HAVE to review! Not only was the procedure quick and expertly done, the before and after care explained to me was in depth and easy to remember! I have not met any of the other fine people there, but I can say that the quirky and fun Anna is highly recommended!

This was my first time getting waxed down there, and it was a good experience. I had Valerie and she was amazing. She made an awkward experience, not so awkward. She answered all my questions and we were able to have a conversation. it was very professional, at first the building looked sketchy but don’t let that worry you. It was a very nice experience and I plan on going back:)

This place is as good as it gets. I have been to all sorts of waxing places over the last 10 years, and after seeing Valerie for the first time about 4 years ago, I would never go anywhere else. I have seen Valerie, Kari, and Anna, and would (and have!) recommend all three to any of my friends. The place is clean, friendly, and the way that they put you at ease is awesome. It feels like going to hang with a girlfriend for half an hour and before you know it, it’s over! Getting a brazillian isn’t the MOST pleasant experience, but I can tell you that they make sure to make it as easy and painless as possible. I have never had anything but a great experience and a high quality result. Definitely a good place to try for a first timer. I can’t recommend this place enough! Really!

I would never give anything less then a 5 star for this group of girls. In fact, can I give 100 stars? I get seen by Anna about once a month. She is great. She does a great job. Most months I text her and she is squeezing me in because I always wait until the last minute. We talk the entire time, normally just picking up where we left off at last time. I wish I could be waxed on a daily bases. Valerie is also great. She is the one that did my very first wax a long time ago. If Anna is on vacation and I really need in, Valerie is my girl!

I can’t claim to be really experienced in this, but have been to one exceptional place in Bellingham that I use as my basis for comparison.
First, the location. There were multiple rough-​looking guys coming/​going from upstairs office. They may be really nice but I’m not looking to chit-​chat with biker dudes outside of my wax joint.
Second, the procedure. Though she was friendly enough & appropriately «clinical,» simple things like applying pressure just after the «rip» — which makes a big difference in the discomfort — wasn’t done.
Lastly, the results. I went completely bare (having only done that 2−3x before) & could see multiple hairs that were missed once home. Not cool.
Though I might give the place another try, it would be with a different tech.

I have seen Amanda now for about a year. Of course getting a Brazilian wax is never fun but she makes it the best it can be. She knows what she is doing and caters to her clients differently based on personality. She gives you time to breathe but doesn’t let it drag on forever. Some people (not me) may feel uncomfortable with someone being so close up in their «business» but she is very professional. It’s like a doctor in the sense that she sees that all the time and it is just her job. She is very sweet and talks to you the whole time, kind of relaxes you as much as that’s possible. She is also informative about aftercare and how the hair growth process works, being in the medical field I already knew this but if I didn’t it would be very useful for her to inform me. Overall an excellent experience! I can’t speak for any of the other ladies there but I am sure they are fantastic! I can also not speak for other kinds of waxes either, for I have only had Brazilians done there, but I’m sure they rock at everything! :)

Valerie and Anna are great! They are the best at making you feel at ease. I actually look forward to my appointments. I have been a client since November, can’t imagine going anywhere else. Make sure to pick up a Bikini Kitty kit, to help prevent ingrown hair.
