I HIGHLY DISCOURAGE anyone from using this area business! I have used this company ever since we moved to Vancouver WA in 1987. I have given a high recommendation to others through the years, that this is a good honest company. I can no longer recommend their service (or their customer service!) or their lack of appreciation for a life-​long customer.
Area HVA replaced a broken condenser in my upstairs A/​C July 2014 (compressor covered by manufacturer’s warranty, but the labor was paid out of pocket). Fast forward to July 2015 —
same (upstairs) A/​C worked for 3 days then went out (again!). Called Area Heating & Cooling to make an appointment for ‘diagnosis’ (although I had reported ‘it was behaving the same way it had a year ago, when the compressor went out…’) but their appointment schedule was backed up and it was over two weeks before they could come to diagnose the problem. The problem: broken condenser (again!). But happily the repairman said it should be covered under their one-​year business warranty since it was just a year since they made the same repair. Oops! The office called me back that same day to tell me that we were ‘just a few days past a year’ so their warranty did not apply! Really? But we had to wait two weeks for our appointment! No luck. Talked to a ‘Jackie’ in the ‘Customer Service’ department who gave absolutely no help at all. When I asked to speak with their business owner Jackie stated «all complaints stop with me. I ‘handle’ all complaints».
Yes, Jackie, you ‘handled it’! And you lost a life long customer for Area HVAC in the process. I am a customer who has used your services for years, and I gave Area HVAC as a recommendation to others when they were looking for HVAC services as well. No more.
I’m very sorry to have lost a local business to use.

#1 contractor with my remodel
I started a home remodel this year. The remodel included plumbing, electrical, framing, sheetrock work and heating and cooling. Of all the trades Area Heating stood out as the best. Their crew James and Chad did a marvelous job. The clean up after each day was spotless. I cannot say that for the plumbers and electricians.
#2 After having all the old insulation removed form the home I asked Mike Deloria if we could lift the heating ducts in the attic (no Problem) was the response this was needed to get the new insulation to cover the new sheetrock. Once again their crew did the job and clean up was complete sweeping the home and garage. This company is your choice if you need work done.
#3 I must admit I am quit picky having retired from the heating and air conditioning business but too old to do it myself. I can say thou if you want it done right want to feel safe that a company will take care of you then look no further.

Price gouging at it’s finest!
Prompt service at the highest cost available. I would never call them again based on their insane high-​prices. Avoid at all costs unless you don’t mind wasting your money. If your furnace goes out, be sure Google someone other than Area Heating and Cooling. Their service is prompt, their people are professional but their prices are alarmingly high and they know they have you in a tough spot when they stick you with the bill.

Unfortunately my Trane Heat Pump AC stopped working (I use it April through October as my energy star home is so tight that it’s about 15 degrees warmer inside than out and I don’t like opening windows due to allergies and living in a one level home; security).
Area had someone out the same day (Friday) to diagnose the problem and managed to order the part (which ended up being in the furnace) so that it would be delivered the next Monday; then installed the following day. Fortunately everything was covered under my 10 year zero deductible parts/​labor warranty. They also put in more refrigerant to replace all that had leaked out so that the three days were bearable given the unseasonably warm weather (work from home).
They went so above and beyond which is why I have recommended them to friends who recently bought older homes which need their systems replaced!!!

If I could rank area heating and cooling no stars, that’s what I’d rate them. We had a brand new home built in 2007 area heating and cooling put in a trane furnace. However when they installed it, they did not do the job correct. We had water leaking down the side of the furnace and after having a technician come fix it with his duct tape and extra PVC piping it still leaked. A day later and 3 guys later they finally had the leak stopped with some more cheap duct tape and more PVC piping. Now a year later we have rust and corrosion on the internal parts and switches and this has caused the limit switch and roll out switch to go bad. Now instead of doing right and repairing the 30 $ part that was damaged from the rust caused by the leak. They want to charge me $ 278 plus tax. I called and asked the manager for a break down of the $ 278 estimate and she would not give me a break down but told me if I don’t want to pay 200 $ labor for a 5 min job then they will sell me the part and I should do it myself. I told them it should be done at cost to them because I feel it was damage that occurred due to the water leak from bad install, and she told me it was my fault for not replacing the air filter which is not even that dirty. Then she told me they are wiping their hands clean of me and walking away from this situation. I called and ordered the part for 30 $ from a better company and will put this in myself in minutes.
