I would not recommend this company to rent a uhaul. I rented a uhaul from this location last minute because I was unable to find a truck to borrow from a friend. After driving the uhaul, I filled it per the contract before returning. It took almost 9 gallons which surprised me. The next day my bill came with my mile total; I drove 3.4 miles. Surprised, I called the gentleman and asked what the mpg roughly was on one of those. Expecting 0.5 miles per gallon, he told me almost 8. I told him about filling up and he told me he would check into it and get back to me. When he called back he explained that the truck had been filled prior to being returned by the last customer and that he was unsure why that happened. He told me there was nothing he could do for me and that his maintenance man would look at the gas gauge. I am almost certain that the gas gauge does not change the amount of gallons of gas a tank can carry, but I am not familiar with the mechanics of cars. I recommend filling the uhaul BEFORE driving off the property at the shell next door. That way when you return it you can prove that it was not filled prior to being returned. If you don’t mind double and triple checking people’s work, this is the ovation for you!
