Right Start Moving

Hello, this is only getting worst, with them…
After a disaster move that costs me double, I submitted a claim to the insurer to get reimbrsed for all of the broken items and guess what … they changed insurer! The original insurer wouldnt send me back my paperwork. I have to start all over and re-​print pictures…
This company is a SCAM and I will contact the DOT immediately. Any other advices would be appreciated!

As per the prior reviews, this company is an absolute sham. The people who work there are either in on it or I feel sorry for them. As with others, Esther is real cool, but after that, its over.
Facts:
— Booked a move for 7/​31, on 7/​30, I was given an arrival window of 11−1pm. At 1pm we were contacted and advised of a truck break down but that a rental had been acquired, at which time your team advised the new arrival time would be 3:30 or 4pm.
At 2pm advised by text message that the truck would not arrive until after 5pm, and they wanted to come the next day instead. At this point they agreed to come the next day between 10am and noon.
⁸⁄₁ at noon they called and said they were running late and would be there at 3pm. At 2:30pm they called to back out all together and try to come 2 days later. With that call I lost over $ 1,000 in fees and expenses.
What should bother every single person who even thinks of mistakenly doing business with this company is no one every called to make good — I had to call them. And to top it all off, the manager /​owner of the company is nowhere to be found. The owner — who on the California Secretary of State website is named Sandy Ceja — does not exist.

Totally agree with the other reviewers. If I could give less than one star, I would. My initial experience with Esther was pleasant and the guys that came to pack up my things were good. I was in a unique position and opted to have my things in storage for about 6 months while I traveled around. When I finally decided to have them delivered it basically took an act from God to get it done, even though I called and gave 10 days notice prior to my anticipated move in date. Even so, they delivered 4 days late and this was after promising me twice that they would be there and then just not showing up.
Nicole, the dispatcher, has probably the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. She would take 2 – 3 days on average to return my emails and when I called the office and was told that she would return my call quickly, she would email me instead. When she sent me an email to verify that my delivery date would be the next day and I responded, she failed to send a confirmation email. It was a joke.
The other thing that I found odd was that they refused to take a cashier’s check from Well’s Fargo… it was either cash or postal money order only. I had to take a lot more time than I wanted off of work to accommodate their schedule and of course this included an extra trip to the bank for me to convert my cashier’s check back into cash. It was just a lot of unnecessary steps and the feeling that I got was the company didn’t care how I was impacted.
When I finally got my things, there were a few items that were broken (I’d say about five, which is pretty minimal considering the number of boxes that I had). What makes me mad, however, is that my dining room table, end table and bed frame all have huge gouges in them now (the one on my table is about the size of a quarter and the one on my bed about the size of my hand). Even though I documented this and it’s been 5 days, I have yet to hear from them regarding fixing this, even though I was told that I would be contacted within a day.
I gave this company six months of business including the time that they stored my stuff for me and they treated me like total garbage. I would highly recommend that no one use them to move EVER. It was a horrible experience that seems like it was replicated by everyone who has used them.

Is there something below 1 star? Our move from California to Texas was rife with problems. The initial contact, Esther, was friendly and represented a good moving company when talking with my fiancé on the phone. The initial quote was based on estimates. Obviously, that estimate could change and did change the week before the move as my fiancé added more boxes to the list. The day of the move, they added another $ 1000 to the cost which eventually doubled the initial quote.
The pickup date was moved up a day the week before pickup. The delivery date was given as a 5 – 7 day window, with a 24 hour notice call before delivery. We received a 4 hour notice call. The driver showed up 2 hours late and with nobody to unload the truck. He wanted to get workers from a nearby Home Depot to unload the contents. After heated phone calls with Right Start in LA and someone identifying himself as the Max, the Texas Dispatcher, the delivery was pushed to the next day so they could «get some company guys from Houston to unload the truck.» One of the workers said at the end of the move that they just met the driver in Austin and were not from Houston.
We have broken and damaged items. Getting any manager on the phone or a return call has not happened yet. My fiancé’s attempt to contact Esther has been unsuccessful. (The ‘receptionist’ answers the phone saying that yes Esther is here. After hearing who is calling her, Esther is suddenly not at the office.)
The service that we received was a terrible experience for us. I would not recommend Right Start Moving for any job, any size, or any reason.

Wanted to update my review. Recently after contacting the authorities and the Department of Transportation, I was advised to send a certified letter. I did and the company refused to accept. The Policeman I have been working with here in Austin has made attempts by phone and email and no response. Also they have not responded to the letter sent to them by the DOT so now I have to file a small claims case.
I have been contacted by at least 5 others that have had the same or similar experience and they have been emailed a larger amount for their deliveries and have been asked to sign a waiver that they would not report them to any social media or legal authority and they would receive a discount. Oh yeah, FYI their physical address is an apartment. NO WAREHOUSE TO BE FOUND!
Be advised this is this is a scam organization and you need to go with someone else or will get a complete let down with a heck of a lotta stress attached to it. They are horrible individuals especially Esther, Nicole and the new name of campus Sharon. My personal opinion is that Sharon is the original, «Keren» that is the owner with a suspended license fro a previous moving business that went into affect ¹²⁄₁₂ and will not be released for 36 months.
