Process Service Associates

Zero Rating! Craig Smith never followed though with providing legal documents being served to defendants that were needed for court filings. He sent certified registered mail (not proper procedure) and neglected to contact another process service out of State, which I learned after the fact. Bragged about knowing the correct local defendant related to my case that he verbally stated that he attempted to serve, yet they denied service, but when this was requested in writing from Chad Smith, he said he would not perjure himself. (LIE?) Obviously he will lie and give you lip service. Ignores phone calls and claims to have 20 years experience, but it is for scamming people. Will someone please STOP this man? Don’t hire him!!!

Unbelievable service. Chad is the ultimate professional. I called him today at 5 pm and he just served her at 839 pm. Unreal service. Unreal attitude. No headaches. No way in the world would I not recommend this person to everyone I know

Chad was successful in serving my crooked landlord who never left his house, and used a PO Box for his business. Every time I called, he answered me and my million questions. I would use him again in a second!!!

Stay away!!! My husband spoke to guy name Chad I believe, and he assured him that they were in business for so many years and that the job will be done in a short time frame. Apparently he served the person and then assured my husband that the proof of service was mailed. Days turned into weeks and we still didn’t receive it. He assured us that it’s on its way. We ended up having to postpone the court date, pay extra fees for rescheduling and then ended up paying someone else to do the job. Very shady. STAY AWAY!!!

If there were a choice for a zero star, it would be most appropriate here. «Chad» who is the man behind this mess couldn’t respond to a phone call or voice message if his life depended on it and his actual follow through on his «unlimited attempts» is a catastrophic lie as he doesn’t do it at all. Needless to say Chad has not returned and has not responded to any phone calls or emails. Save your money and hire a real process server but not this man.

I am so angry that I did not see that last review from Kim L. before I signed up to use this company to serve my husband. This was my first time having to use a process server and its too bad I didnt do the homework to read reviews first.
I went to court to file for divorce on July 17^th, 2013 and I went online to fill out all the paperwork with this company and to pay so that we could get my papers served quickly. I didnt recieve a confirmation until two days later through email stating that the company has recieved all of the necessary paperwork and payments so they will do the first attempt within 3 — 5 days (routine service). After about a week I started writing emails to ask about the status of my papers and I got NO RESPONSE. I wrote them again expressing my feelings about being nervous because they had not gotten back to me on status.
On July 31^st, I finally got a response through email and it seemed like an automated response that they just send out to everyone thats asking about a status update. It basically said that my paperwork was with someone out in the field and they would email me with an update as soon as an attempt is made. I responded back to the email and said that they were supposed to make the first attempt within 3 – 5 days and I was very unhappy that the first attempt was not even made yet. So I was asking for a refund because I was already planning on paying another company to try to get my paperwork out. It is August 10^th and I still have no gotten an email back from them and I think that I probably just lost my money because I do not think this company is going to be responding back or refunding my money back.
Be careful because this is obviously something this company does because as you can see, the other review is complaining about the same thing. I am now working with a different process server to get my papers served to the defendant.

The PSA team came through for me in a big way! They served a guy that had evaded the Sheriff’s department on four separate occasions. Not only did they serve the coward, PSA did it in two days.

I work for a law office in Berkeley and had to find a registered process server in Santa Clarita, to effect personal service of an order of examination on a judgment debtor who lives there. I was happy to find PSA because their website is very thorough and user-​friendly, and seemed more professional than two other local process servers I had found over the internet and spoken with by phone. Unfortunately, my experience with PSA turned out very poorly; every time we interacted I felt I was treated rudely and it was like pulling teeth to get any information about what was happening. I understand that ours was just one small order and that PSA’s staff can’t spend tons of time on each customer, but the reality was that I had to keep calling back and taking up unnecessary time **because** I could never get a straight answer, and my boss wasn’t willing to put up with that.
So, I placed my order on ⁵⁄₂₂ for «Routine» (3 – 5 day) service, and the service was not attempted until ⁵⁄₃₀. Chad from PSA left me a voicemail (I had asked him to call when service was completed since I was getting nervous about the time passing) saying service was completed on 5/​30, and that the proof of service (which had to be filed with the court in a very short period of time thereafter) was being mailed to us.
On 6/​5, one workday before we actually had to appear in court on this thing (and past our deadline for filing the proof of service with the court), the original proof of service had **still** not arrived, and when I called Chad to see what the status was and if I could get a faxed copy as a backstop, he informed that the original had been mailed «days ago» and that a fax was «not really going to do you any good.» When I insisted, he said he would get to it in an hour. When I called back 90 minutes later, he snipped, «I said I’d do it in an hour, and I doubt it’s even been that long.» Look, everybody’s busy, but your business caters to lawyers who have COURT DEADLINES — if you are so lackadaisical about deadlines why are you (or HOW are you??) in this line of work?
To take the cake — Chad finally faxes my copy of the proof of service. The original still doesn’t show up before my boss has to go to his court appearance in LA this morning. The proof of service FINALLY shows up in the mail this afternoon (⁶⁄₈), and the Santa Clarita postmark says — ⁶⁄₅.
Thankfully the court appearance went fine and I won’t be needing a process server in the area again for the foreseeable future, because if/​when I do I now obviously need to start from square one, this company is totally unprofessional and I recommend avoiding it entirely if you have any kind of deadline you need to meet.
