So far not happy with their Customer service. I was told it would take 3 weeks to repair and 3 weeks later they haven’t even looked at it. If they repair it quickly I will change my review but so far so bad. And the older lady that answers the phone is very rude and nasty to customers. You can tell she doesn’t give a damn if you do business there or not.

This place is the real deal. I have 2004 Lexus RX330 with the 6 player cd. It ate 5 cds about a year ago and just could not stand the Lexus dealer wanted $ 650 to fix. I pulled the cd player from the dash and sent it to them on a Monday and had it back by Thursday. They installed a new cd mechanism cost was $ 290. Mini and Omar are great and the service is outstanding!

The multi function display screen was not working properly on my 2005 Prius.
I came in, they diagnosed the problem and they fixed it.
Best part, it cost less than I expected, they did the work on the spot and the staff was super friendly.
If you are having problems with your display or car navigation you can’t go wrong by giving them a call.

Called this place for a quote on a nav repair. They quoted me over $ 100 more than it would cost to get my unit repaired through Alpine directly. What a rip.

I have a 2006 Lexus Is 250 fully loaded. That being said I had turned on my car On any normal day and had been alarmed to find that my navigation screen no longer worked. I went into Lexus to have a diagnostic done and they had told me that they don’t repair they only replace. When they quoted me the price I literally laughed. My car is almost 10 years old and the price of the navigation screen was almost half of what I will could get selling it. After having my intelligence insulted at the dealership I went on my own little mini rampage to find the best deal possible to fix my navigation screen. I went through every Avenue I could. I went on to eBay to see used units/​screens that were available to me; I even was able to find a place that would remove and install for less than $ 100. However when buying a used screen the question still remains am I going to buy another broken screen? Anyways, after doing hours and hours of research I stumbled upon Unilocal as well as Google this godsend. The price was very reasonable.
Bijan took care of me and had me in and out in about 4 hours. He let me take my car, which yes, without the nav screen still works. Ended up playing mini golf and ate tacos around the corner while we waited. His staff was very knowledgeable. And was able to remove my navigation screen in under 10 minutes without scuffing anything in my car including my screen. Everyone at the facility told me that this is a very common occurrence for Lexus; you would think that they would fix it by now. The best part he was willing to negotiate and I walked away not feeling like I was being ripped off or taken advantage of.

Awesome work… fast all in one day and I was in and out above all that, they gave me a good price… highly recommend for anyone that has a broken electronic they know how to fix it…

Took a Lexus IS350 06 navigation here. They fixed the mainboard at a decent price. Much less than I expected. Next I went there for a BMW instrument cluster, same fast service and good prices. I don’t know what that John B guy was going on about. Theres some stingy people in this world. These guys do a good job and deserve every cent for their skills and knowledge and experience.

My Bose Acoustic Wave was dropped off with a broken CD door. I was called about a week later and was told that the part wasn’t available, however they could repair the door. When I picked up the unit I was shocked/​very upset to find out that if I would have spend 3 times the amount, I could have had it done with a NEW case. — The option that would have given me the NEW door I was after in the 1^st place.

Absolutely great :) I had a Kenwood issue and this place was listed as a service center. I took my car in, they uninstalled the unit, explained to me every step of the way what was happening and how much it would cost (and also COULD cost) and were in touch constantly. EXCELLENT service, EXCELLENT customer service! If you need Kenwood repairs, or probably an unit repaired, these guys :) Awesome staff, super smart :) Thanks!!!

After searching high and low for a solution to my broken Lexus LS460 navigation screen, I had been given all sorts of disparate advice.
When I talked to Bijan on the phone, he was direct and clearly knew what he was talking about — he knew who assembled the complete navigation unit for my car (Denso), who their typical parts distributors were (pioneer, toshiba, sharp, etc) and that the screen in my car was likely a Toshiba.
Based on the description of the problem, he was able to isolate the issue to the digitizer on the navigation screen and spoke with confidence about what it would take to repair it, and how much it would cost.
I’m looking forward to brining my car here and having a working navigation screen in my car again!

If there were 6 stars I’d have given this company all 6! I had my 2007 Lexus IS250 Nav System touchscreen replaced and these folks were AWESOME! I had been emailing Bijan for some time and finally got time to schedule a day to drive the Lexus up to them in Van Nuys to replace the touchscreen. They did an awesome job! It took a couple of hours for the technician to remove the entire Nav-​Radio from my car, replace the touch screen and put it back in. Saved literally thousands of dollars over the dealer and it is perfect. Not only that, they are all very nice people. I will be back for all my electronics repair needs!

Professional, extraordinarily competent (with my repair, certainly), ready to help, and quick turnaround (again, for my repair.) How well they packed my unit for the return shipment also suggested professionalism. The video installation instructions were clear and easy to follow.
My repair was a GPS/​receiver unit from a 2001 BMW 740i. There were not many 740i’s sold back then, and after 13 years even fewer on the road now. I had been looking on online forums and asking the local BMW dealer about a repair/​replacement for about 8 months with no luck. It was important because the unit not only controlled the GPS receiver, but powered the radio and CD player as well. I finally found these guys online and called and talked with Bijan. He said he could fix my problem. And he did, in less than a week. For me it was a small miracle.

Just to show you the professionalism of this place, they posted my full name on their response to my post. It is a breach of privacy and they know this. I flagged their response so it may be updated now. My main issue was not that they charged the «consultation fee», that is not mentioned at all, but they way they handled me as a customer from start to finish. Not only were they more expensive than several other companies, their customer service is horrible. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

These guys actually know how to fix electronics and take the time to diagnose the problem. I had problems with the flip navigation on a c300 mercedes that the dealership wanted to charge over $ 2k to repair. They fixed it in less than 2 days for a fifth of the cost. Very knowledgable!

My navigation on my sienna broke and thus the entire sound system several months ago. I looked all over the Internet for places to repair it. Found this place and somewhere else in Minnesota. Was visiting family in LA and took it there to get fixed. Was a fair price to replace the motherboard on the system, which was the main problem, but they also found a problem with the CD changer which would not cycle through CDs. The only negative part of the visit was that they tried for two hours to fix the CD changer, but still couldn’t fix it and wound up replacing it for an additional $ 100, which took almost another hour to finish. However everything works now! My total cost was about as much as it would have been to buy a refurbished system from eBay before shipping. So not bad, although they aren’t exactly giving away their services.
Other than my experience, I met another car technician there who was hired to fix someone else’s Mercedes navigation system but took it to this place for repair and would then mark it up for his own client. So I know this place is definitely THE place to take broken navigation systems from cars. The people were nice too.

I have to say that Hi-​Tech has renewed my faith in humanity. After a number of car stereo repair shops issued extremely high and obscene quotes to either repair and/​or replace my car CD changer, this place repaired it for only $ 265 (and I do mean ONLY). I didn’t have to give up my 6-​CD changer for a new one with only one CD capability, as was suggested to me many times over that I would have to do this. I was quoted anywhere from $ 500 to as high as $ 3,600 if I wanted another 6-​CD changer. Mind you, I sat on this for TEN MONTHS because I just couldn’t accept the fact that one day, it worked, and the next day, it didn’t. I just had a sneaking suspicion that after burning a new batch of CD’s myself and putting my own labels on them, that one of the labels must’ve peeled up and gotten stuck in the changer, thus shutting down the entire system. Not one place would look… oh, for about $ 300, they’d look, but that was just to look. I said no. Other places said, no, it «sounds like blah blah blah, and if you want a NEW CD changer, it’ll cost blah blah blah.» Up and up and up the price shot with each quote. Finally, after ten months of NO CD’s and listening to boring FM radio where they play mostly crap, interspersed with a zillion ridiculous commercials, I came up with the BRILLIANT idea to call my fave car repair shop, DeYoung’s. Pissed I didn’t think of it sooner, no matter, at least I thought of it eventually. They are SOOOOOOOOOOOO helpful, honest, and reasonable about everything cars, certainly THEY would have a place in mind to help me out. They did. While the place DeYoung’s recommended didn’t actually do repairs, that shop, however, recommended Hi-​Tech. We leaped at the opportunity, and since the $ 265 quote seemed like a steal, I was done saying no. Not only did Hi-​Tech look at the CD-​changer, they saw the problem was EXACTLY as I had suspected all along. They also fixed it. That’s why $ 265 is a steal of a deal for what could have been a lot more money had I trusted these other liars. As for the CD’s I made that caused the problem, I threw them out just to be safe, and it’s been working JUST FINE ever since. I so appreciate Hi-Tech’s honesty and of course the fact that they saved my wonderful 6-​CD changer… yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. Hi-​Tech deserves high praise !!!

Got what I needed done. God for the more expensive things, but not the best place for minor things.

I am in complete amazement regarding the level of service I received from this business. The owner greeted me with kindness and it was all uphill from there. He repaired my 2002 Jaguar’s Navigation system and the CD player at a more than fair price. Due to transportation issues he took care of getting my car to the mechanic that was to repair my headlight. This was done without my asking. I have not received this level of service in a very long time and it was served up with honesty, fair pricing and over the top kindness. Please feel free to take any and all of your electronic business to him. He is top notch!!!

This guys could fix my BMW 5 series cd player. My car was having difficulty reading the CD however after Fred fixed it, it works wonderful. The dealer ship was quoting me 6 times more then they are. These guys are great and friendly.

Hi Tech is the authorized repair shop for many electronic goods. In my case it was for Toshiba. I was directed to Hi Tech from Toshiba’s customer support line for my TV with a broken dvd drive. I don’t expect much from a repair shop, whether its for a car or, in this case, a tv. I only ask for honesty. Everything else is equal. Well, this place does not provide me with a sense of honesty.
I called the repair shop to see if I could get a new dvd drive. They indicated that I needed to bring the tv in. They would have to perform a diagnostic which would cost $ 45 dollars. I explained that I had a broken dvd unit and it needed to be replaced. I just wanted a quote for a new dvd unit. Considering they are a repair shop I assumed they had done this before and would be able to give me a quote. They insisted that I needed to bring the tv in for the diagnostic and that they would be able to repair the dvd unit.
To be fair, I brought the tv in two days later. The person behind the counter told me that they would need to perform a diagnostic and that it was going to cost $ 55 dollars. «I guess you guys had price increase in the past two days, «I said. I went on to describe my call from two days earlier. Under the circumstances, the person behind the counter agreed to charge my only $ 45 dollars.
The grifter behind the counter explained that the $ 45 diagnostic is for smaller electronics like car stereos. I explained that I needed a new dvd unit and that I would appreciate a quote to replace it. After a brief exchange, she called the technician out. I then explained the situation all over to him. He went into the back of shop and came out to tell me that the dvd unit is discontinued, but that he could get one for $ 150 dollars. The cost to install it would be another $ 100. I was infuriated that they made me drag my tv across town to tell me that the part is no longer available. Moreover I was confused that he told me that he can get the dvd unit, but from an alternate source (Why tell me the part is discontinued if he can get an alternate part). i explained that it was not worth it to replace the unit for $ 250, since the tv only cost $ 350. He indicated that if I left the tv for him to do the diagnostic that he could give me quote to fix the dvd unit. I decided to give him a shot.
I got a call from the repair shop two days later. The caller explained to me that my tv had a broken dvd unit and that it would have to be replaced. After a deep breath I explained I already knew that and for $ 45 dollars I got no new information. The diagnostic was supposed to tell them and me what was wrong with the dvd unit and that they would be able to repair it. The caller explained that they could repair the dvd unit by replacing it. *smack self*
The take away here is that for $ 45 diagnostic, they can’t tell you anything except to confirm that your device is broken, which you already knew because that is the reason why you brought your electronic device in the first place. Had they been able to provide more information, I would have at least felt like they did a diagnostic.
