They answered all my questions with patience, were very detailed throughout the whole process and best of all very generous, they did not make me feel rushed. It really felt like this business cared and was invested in my enjoyment, I will never go anywhere else but here again!

This is a great flight school they have all the necessary certifications to do flight trainin, I think they have been in business for almost 10 years. So I really don’t know what the other guy was talking about below.
They have great airplanes, nice flight simulators and excellent customer service.

Hello everyone, as current customer of Encore I have been very happy with the service I have received so far.
I signed up about 6 months a go for the career program, initially I did a lot of research trying to find an appropriate school, my ultimate goal is to work for the airlines. I called in and talked to Alex about the program, he spent over an hour going over course and all the details and explained the pricing, I know now that the prices he offered me in the package are very competitive and in fact I would not be able get a better deal than I got from encore.
The training contract was very clear and included all flight hours, and licenses I was going to get in course and it wasn’t just an estimate of the total cost. I am half way through the program and everything is as promised in the initial meeting.
They have great flight simulators, there is total of four flight simulators and two of the are Redbird full motion. Very useful for me at least, the sims helped me a great deal especially to master my landing skills during the private pilot. Also the simulators made the pricing more attractive since the are FAA approved and could be logged as actual flight time.
The airplanes: the aircraft was the most important attraction, after all we go to a flight school to fly airplanes. I started my training in the Diamond airplanes, they are really fun to fly and great training platform, it makes me happy to know that US Air force is also using the same airplanes to train military pilots.
I moved to Piper warriors after that and now I am flying the multi engine airplanes. The maintenance is done with their in house mechanics. I think they have 4 or 5 mechanics working on the airplanes full time. I have seen them work on the planes many times and I think they do a great job.
Scheduling: all my training has been on a one-​on-​one basis and the front desk ladies are really nice and helpful. I have been there more than 100 times far and I only had to re scheduled 3 or 4 times, due to weather and maintenance. The good news is that they have a lot of airplanes, so if one or two are down for maintenance, there are plenty of other planes you could switch into.
Over all a Great place to fly. I highly recommend them.

Excellent flight school, i signed up for a private pilot package. the airplanes are really nice and i have done half of my training so far. Alex has been my flight instructor, he is very experienced and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them.

Just finished our 1 hour flight session with instructor Alex who is quite a great instructor! The staff in encore were amazing and made this last minute session happen! Originally had a session schedule with us aviators who cancelled last minutely on my boyfriends birthday surprise. Staff member Alex saved our day and flight instructor Alex made our day. They had a full schedule and still accommodated us. Definitely coming back to Encore in the near future for our flight lesson. Thank you guys !

We having law suit going on now.
They cant accept international student but they did, they get tuition first and they ignore. I got the visa with their info but immigration never let me into US because they cant find school. Bull shit and owner Alex Abbassi never pick up the phone after that.

This is a great company to fly with, they have a really good program at excellent pricing. I did a lot of shopping before I signed up with them. They are the lowest in la area for the types of aircraft they have.
Also the flight simulators are really useful. Go see Alex and he can give you all the information and details about the courses they offer.

I got two same Unilocal messages today criticizing my previous revuew.
Basically, they both kind of saying what’s my problem and Kyle did the right thing.
There is some misunderstanding here. My last review was about Encore illegally scheduling an un-​trained instructor to conduct a training. Yes, Kyle did the right thing not to fly. But I was told by Encore that the reason for no flying was the strong wind. So Encore conducted illegal activities and lied to customers. Kyle should have told Encore that he cannot accept that training appointment sooner. I specially called a day before the training to ask Encore to inform me earlier in case of cancellation, because I need to drive 45 minutes to get there. I got there and found out no flying that day.
Why now it’s my fault? Encore ignored FAA regulations and lied to me. But now I am the bad guy?
Those two «private messages» didn’t mention about Encore’s wrongdoings.

I wrote a review several months ago about being stood up by Kyle. I got a message this morning from Kyle. It’s worst than I thought. Encore schefuled me an instructor illegally. He was just hired 2 days before my scheduled appointment and he was not even trained to be my instructor. This tells you how shady this place is. They would send anyone to fly you even it’s illegal. Do you want to risk your life? I don’t. I was lucky that it was too windy to fly that day, otherwise …
I am going to forward Kyle’s statement to FAA. If this didn’t revoke their license, I don’t know what else would.

I am sorry for your negative experience, and apparent dissatisfaction with me. Please understand your appointment was scheduled on 04÷26÷15 and I was hired by Encore on 04÷24÷15 as a multi-​engine airplane instructor. As a new employee I was not supposed to be scheduled at all for Encore for the first week while being trained on their operations, and I did not have access to any schedule. I don’t think Mike made mention of that? As of that date I did not even hold an instructor rating for single engine airplanes which discovery flights are conducted in. If I had given any instruction in that class of airplane it would have been in direct violation of my commercial pilot instructor privileges and been illegal. I would have been glad to cancel your appointment well in advance had I known an appointment existed. I can assure you I take my work as an instructor and pilot very seriously and I am not the type of person to cancel last minute on anybody. I don’t know what Mike told you about the wind, but it would have to be gusting very severely for a flight to be canceled due to that factor. Which makes it apparent to me he was trying to cover for his scheduling.

Excellent place to learn to fly. They are very professional and have really nice airplanes. I signed up for my commercial rating and so far they have exceeded my expectation. I really enjoy flying with, also the pricing is very competitive, I think the lowest I could find around.

I took my first flight lesson here for my birthday and I must say, it is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.
It all started from a phone call when I made my appointment. I wish I can remember the lady’s name, nonetheless, she was very helpful, kind, and informative. Do make sure to give yourself extra time prior to your scheduled appointment. Google Maps got us lost for a bit but the kind gentleman on the phone helped us find our way. The receptionist, Shay, was very positive and helpful as well. She made sure we knew what we signed up for and made us feel comfortable in the lobby.
I would have given them 4 stars because everything was a bit delayed (our appointment was at 5 o’clock and we didn’t start til 5:45ish) but the reason why I’m sticking with 5 stars is because we made it in time for the sunset. I thought it was meant to be and who doesn’t love sunsets? Can’t complain about that.
My instructor was Brian and he was so much fun and hilarious! We loved his energy and made us feel comfortable since we were a bit nervous. If you have an amazing sense of humor, love to laugh and have fun, Brian is the perfect instructor for you!
I would definitely come back here. It’s a perfect gift for anyone!

I want to take this time to share with anyone who maybe interested in getting lessons from an amazing pilot with such great background knowledge that not only you will feel safe but will have a pleasant company as well. I definitely and highly recommend this establishment for any flight lessons and the best pilots are hired there to teach you. I had an amazing experience and wanted to share this with the public. I have been an encore student for the past 3 years. I really feel like I am part of encore family, the service is excellent and they have really nice aircrafts.
I am done with my commercial multi and single engine ratings and I and doing my flight instructor test next Tuesday.

My boyfriend has been taking flying lessons at Encore Flight School and he absolutely loves their program; he is almost done with completing the course to get his license.
Last month, my boyfriend flew us to Catalina Island with Alex’s (the instructor) supervision and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had. FYI, I am absolutely terrified of flying and I would refuse traveling because I am so scared of heights and flying; however, I couldn’t believe how comfortable and safe I felt during the flight. I wanted to take a few minutes and tell you about my experience with encore flight.
I signed up for the career program, my goal is to become an airline pilot and looks like I am right on track with encore’s help.
my course takes 13 months to complete, and I git job offer from encore flight to work with them as an instructor upon graduation. I am about 10 months in about to be dine with program.
they training so far has been amazing, it is a lot of fun to learn to fly. the airplanes are in a good shape, my flight instructor Alex has been very helpful. the flight simulators are extremely realistic and fun to fly.
overall I believe I made a great choice, specially their pricing was very affordable.

My friend bought me a groupon for a flying lesson here and I had the best time! Making my appointment was super easy and they emailed me all of my confirmations and outlook calendar responses. They followed up with confirmations. Unfortunately the first session I booked was cancelled due to bad weather, but I was immediately able to book the following weekend which was great.
When I called to make my reservation I asked if my husband could ride along in the plane for us but they told me that wasn’t possible. No biggie Got there and they offered me some champagne. I thought it was some kind of trick like you cant drink and fly, but apparently a little sip before flying is okay just not during flying. I still passed. The flight instructor offered to let my husband ride in the plane with us at no additional cost which was awesome but unfortunately he isn’t a fan of the heights and opted out.
The groupon was for a flight simulator, a classroom lesson and an hour long flight. I was immediately put into the simulator which was pretty cool. My husband was able to sit next to me. The instructor explained everything really well and we did a couple of take offs and landing. Took a minute to get the hang of it. After that, however, there was no classroom session — which in all honesty I was okay with. Ive flown a helicopter before and after the simulation I felt I could handle it.
Hopped right into the plane and it was amazing. He got us over to the runway and I got to do the take off completely on my own. We flew past Universal studios, The HOllywood Sign and The Griffith park observatory, right over Dodgers Stadium, Right along downtown, in between Santa Monica Airport and LAX along the coast up malibu, through the canyons and back. It was about an hour long flight and amazing. My instructor was super calm all the way thorugh it — even if I made us descend super rapidly on my sharp left turn. He didn’t even lift a finger and trusted me at the controls to right it — which I did. It was such a fun flight and I was at the controls for just about all of it. He took over for the landing which was A okay with me because that definitely wasn’t my strong suit.
