Seriously run from this company. Do not use them. This is the worst moving company out there. They pick up your stuff on time but then it’s a crap shoot when and how much of your stuff you will get back. Once they have your stuff they won’t tell you when it’s going to be delivered because they say they don’t know. Spend twice as much to use someone else this company is a scam and will/​should be investigated. Run run run run away from Americas worst moving company.

I used America’s Choice Moving to move from California to Florida. Delivery came a month LATE! The late delivery forced us to spend an extra $ 1,000 on items we needed for daily living. When we called about our delivery we kept being given the run around. Pretty hard to get by when we have a toddler and many of his things were supposed to have arrived already. We had to buy a lot of temporary items, wasting money. We were also told by AMY the semi would fit into our development and we would not have to pay an extra fee. AMY said she looked at google maps and guaranteed me the truck would fit and there would be no extra charge. Upon arrival the semi did not fit and we were told we could either have the truck driver rent a Uhaul for an extra $ 450.00 cash or I could rent a Uhaul for an extra $ 150.00 cash. Totally different than what we were told on the phone from Americas Choice Moving. My wife and I felt like we were getting scammed and had no choice because the truck was holding our stuff hostage.
Second, a number of our pre-​sealed boxes had been opened and various items missing from the boxes we packed ourselves.
Third we had numerous broken dishes, some of those dishes were china from my great grandmother and were packed REALLY well. Many of our sons toys were missing parts, rendering them unusable and we were forced to throw them out.
DO NOT… I REPEAT DO NOT use this moving company if you value your things! DO NOT let Amy or any of the sales reps talk you into using their service, when i called for their help they told me, «we are just the sales office.» Again, stay away from this company if you value your household goods.

We used America’s Choice Moving & Storage to move from L.A. to Seattle at the end of November. I was busy with work and my boyfriend was waiting to start his new job, so I let him pick the moving company. Not placing blame, just setting up the fact that I didn’t deal directly with them.
He worked with Lisa to get a price quote which ended up being almost $ 1,000 less than what we paid when all was said and done. Sure, there were a few last minute boxes, It’s VERY clear to me now that this company will underbid on the job to get your business and once they arrive at your home and see what you have, jack the price way up and you have no choice but to go along for the ride, literally.
When we put down the deposit, I made it very clear that I wanted our stuff before Thanksgiving. That gave them one week to drive it up to Seattle. Lisa said she wouldn’t promise, but they would do their best. She also mentioned (and this is KEY) that they **do not deliver on Thanksgiving.**
They were about 30 minutes late to load the truck in L.A. It took them about 3 hours to get our 2 bedroom/​1 bath plus a couple boxes in the garage loaded up. Once the time came to sign the contract when everything was on the truck, the price started rising. $ 300 here, $ 300 there. and before I knew it we were over our estimate by 20%, despite my boyfriend measuring literally everything in the apartment.
One week goes by and we hear nothing. I assume our stuff won’t arrive by Thanksgiving and start borrowing dishes etc. from friends so we can still have a nice meal sans furniture.
The day before Thanksgiving, dispatch calls and tells us our delivery window is Thanksgiving day between 4pm and 6pm. Yes. They wanted to deliver our stuff during Thanksgiving dinner, despite previously stating that they do not deliver on Thanksgiving. We tried to persuade them to deliver on Friday morning instead but no dice– it was either accept the delivery literally during thanksgiving dinner, or they would put our stuff in storage and deliver whenever they want.
Needless to say, we opted for the Thanksgiving delivery.
The team unloading the truck in Seattle was a lot better. There was an Israeli (?) guy leading the charge, and we wound up giving him our old brown couch when it wouldn’t fit through the front door. They worked quickly and efficiently, maybe because it was Thanksgiving and they probably didn’t want to be working any more than we wanted to be stuck there watching them work.
They also arrived a few hours early, around 1pm, but we were still late to our potluck dinner with friends and it was a real pain to be cooking while trying to help direct where our things needed to go.
So far, I haven’t noticed many damaged items. One plastic tub of family pictures was smashed, and there are a few objects with water damage (see photos). The painting with water damage was part of a box they «professionally» packed, so I wouldn’t trust their packing skills either.
We didn’t have a terrible experience (hence 2 stars and not 1), but I wouldn’t use them again. Underbidding is a sneaky tactic and they flat out lied about not delivering on Thanksgiving. They are not the kind of folks you want to trust with your stuff.

This company’s initial quotes are remarkably low… too good to be true, right? This alert is listed on the BBB website for this business:

I keep seeing all of these bad reviews about this company. Im going to use them a second time, solely based on the diligence of Lisa, and her professionalism throughout the entire process. From start to finish she has been on the ball (I’m a stickler for making sure the job gets done correctly, the first time). I’m in the process of working with her again and should I need her services even after this I know I can call her directly. She gets 5 stars in my book.

You are going to be charged hundreds of dollars over their «estimate». Do not trust them, they are money hagglers. They try to make you think you know nothing about moving so you wouldn’t know the cost. Unbelievable.

I have not used a moving company before so I am not sure if this is business as usual. My Husband worked for a moving company years ago and says absolutely NOT. We moved from CA to WA
I began my search for a moving company and found Amy. She was nice, full of information and attentive. I was sold on the company… Then move day came. The driver and leader of the three seemed knowledgable and was packing my kitchen well. I had some items packed in plastic bins already, then the two helpers started in. I have large photos in frames they were not wrapping with bubble wrap (which I provided) so they had to come out of the box and get wrapped right. Another young man was taking my small tv off a wall mount in my office and started to yank on a VERY sturdy mount bar that was not coming off the wall when my husband walked in the room. This young man had not taken another large screw out that was attached to a stud. This bent the mount but they did not seem concerned at all. This should have warned me.
Here I am moved to my new home and so excited to get my stuff and it finally arrives…
Things are coming off the truck and the numbers don’t match what the item are. One number says it it my water stand for my sparklettes water jugs and it was a box about 3×10. This happened many times. Then we start to get to the end of our section of items and see there are items missing… For sure my BBQ and Step Ladder, large box of DVDs (Disney movies I had planned to share with my Grandbabies) but there seems to be more items such as suitcases electronics tvs etc. so we have to start opening boxes. I found our receiver, blu ray DVD player dish box telephones and a lamp all thrown in one large box. Nothing wrapped or protected. Lamp shades ripped. I kept searching and found my Husbands leather coat and my pea coat in a box with gofer traps from the garage. I found my Grandfathers guitar shuved in a box with my real estate lawn signs and other garage items. And yes that is were I found my little tv at the bottom of the box with gofer traps and golf clubs.
On top of missing items my dresser was damaged, our mattresses were not put in proper mattress covers, items were stacked on them and now do not seem to lay right (springs could be bent) our sleigh bed has gouges in the side bars and I am still not sure if the electronics work
Some of these items appear to have been re-​boxed as I remember the guitar being put in its own box, per my request and it showed up in a box with a bunch of stuff.
I will probably continue to find missing items. I am sad, heartbroken my things meant nothing to these people and I am angry!
Run don’t walk, don’t let Amy or any other sales person talk you into using them

I used America’s Choice Moving and worked with Amy as my sales rep. She calmed my nerves making such a large move out of state from Florida to California, I was a little nervous from seeing a mixture of good and bad reviews. She went through everything in such detail that I felt more comfortable with her than other reps at companies that only cared about getting my deposit. They didn’t take the time like Amy did to go through every possible extra charge, tips on packing, going through the inventory list a few times. We ended up having almost double the amount of boxes and more furniture pieces than I initially thought I would have (couldn’t win the fight with my wife about getting rid of more stuff)!
Amy explained the charges for the addition so we were prepared for it, ended up being about $ 600 more. She explained the delivery process of approximately 7 – 10 business days, we got delivery after 12 business days, which was still fair.
The pick up crew supervised by Eric were excellent, very careful and respectful. They were polite and very professional, cleaned up nicely after everything was loaded. They created a couple fragile mirrors and artwork for us that arrived in perfect condition. The delivery crew was also fantastic, but back our beds together, put everything in the specific rooms.
Overall a great experience and I will definitely be recommending them!

Please, please do not is this company! They are liars, thieves, and lazy people! It has been 5 weeks now and I still have not gotten our stuff. they are rude on the phone, and are not helpful at all. I want my stuff back! I am hiring a lawyer and suing them!

Moved from CA to VA. Originally I thought that the company seemed good as there initial customer service to set up the move was fantastic. However that is where the customer service stopped. The time dictated when I set up the appointment to have my furniture was severely late, originally had a 8am pickup, changed to 2 – 5, then the movers showed up at 6pm.
When they arrived they told me that the phone quote that I received is always less as the phone customer service uses numbers less than I tell them to come up with a SQFT less than required so they can charge much more upon receiving the furniture.
After I arrived in VA and notified them that I was ready for delivery and nothing happened. When the date that I set up passed and I did not receive any phone calls I called them up only to be told that they have 30 business days to deliver from the time I specify, however, they could not give me the date that they would deliver on. I called multiple times and was told by their dispatch that they had know idea when they would have truck ready to send my furniture to me. I thought that this was extremely unprofessional as they are a logistics company and should know or schedule when they can make deliveries. I was told I would receive a call from the dispatch office when my furniture left the warehouse in CA. I never received that phone call. The call I finally received was from the driver of the truck delivering my furniture a month after I had intended to have delivery. He told me he could deliver it the next day between 2−5pm, he shows up at 830pm.
I had 3 bookshelves each was damaged. One of the bookshelf’s the shelf’s do not come out without breaking the shelves and when it was picked up the movers wrapped it with plastic wrap so as to make sure it was in one peace. The bookshelf arrived with the plastic wrap removed and the shelves disassembled which is not how it left my care. I have found that the moving company lost 3 boxes, 2 clothes boxes each 1.5’x1.5’x2’ with all of my wife’s summer clothes and some nice dress suite and a box of non-​perishable food from Overseas that I cannot purchase in the United States. I notified the company and have not received any phone calls from them or even an email.
Total personal loses estimated around $ 1500 for clothes and food. Hoping that the claims process is not as awful as their business process.

Run Run Runnnnnn away from this company!!! They lie, steal your money and don’t care about you. I can provide email’s proving how much they lie and even stole my deposit money. They didnt call or show up when i booked them months in advance. They’re very nice to you in the begining but once you paid its over.

PLEASE READ! You will save yourself a ton of money. DO NOT trust this company. They are not reliable or trustworthy. It’s been 7 weeks and I still have not received my items. I was lied too from day 1. I moved for business and I cannot even work as all of my supplies are with This company. My entire home is with them. I was quoted 21 days at most. Now they want more money before they even deliver my items. I fear that I may never see my things again. I cannot even get a call back from a supervisor or an area mgr after 7 weeks. This has been one of the worst experiences of my life. It has hurt my professional life as well as my personal life. This company needs to be held responsible for breach of contact.

America’s Choice Moving & Storage was GREAT. If you’re thinking of using movers, I definitely recommend them.
My husband and I moved from LA to New Mexico, and they handled everything (including my PIANO) with care and professionalism.
For most of setting up the move, I dealt with Amy, and she was super helpful and nice – it was awesome! She worked with us and waived fees here and there where she could (for example, the piano), and made clear that if we had any questions at all, just to let her know. We were packing all of our own boxes except for a big heavy antique mirror, the piano, and a few lamps. Amy waived fees for packing the lamps & mirror and made sure I knew that the mandatory insurance only would cover the boxes they packed. She really held our hand every step of the way. I ask LOTS of questions because I don’t like surprise information, and Amy explained everything.
(I even asked about the bad Unilocal reviews (because they seemed to be REALLY bad!), and she explained it was actually for another company, and that they’ve tried to have Unilocal fix it, but Unilocal wants money to do so, etc. etc. We had a good feeling about this company, so decided to trust that she was telling the truth, and I’m happy we did! The service we got for the price was beyond fair and wonderful.)
We made sure to have enough bubble wrap, plastic wrap & tape at home for the movers because I was able to order it from a wholesaler for cheaper than it would have been to have America’s Choice use theirs.
When moving day came, the team who arrived were SO INCREDIBLY fast! They packed up our entire house (a 2 bedroom) in an afternoon. While they were working hard to get our stuff packed up, we were drinking champagne at our neighbors’ house. THAT’s why to hire movers ;-)
Once our stuff arrived in New Mexico a little over a week later, the men who did the unpacking were super courteous and professional as well. And, ta da!, nothing was damaged.
The one tiny thing I’d say America’s Choice could do better is the tracking of inventory. Every box or piece of furniture that was ours had a little numbered sticker (from basically a roll) on it, and the inventory list was hand-​written by the foreman the day of the move. I’ve had other companies use special bar-​coded stickers for everything which they scan, and it seems a little bit more thorough. BUT, if you’re a thorough person (like we are – we number our boxes & have a list of them handy when the movers drop off), you don’t really have anything to worry about.
Definitely recommend!

If I could give negative stars, I would. Not only did this company waste my time and money, they also were supposed to store my things for a few weeks before shipping, but all I got was a call telling me my things were on their way already with ZERO confirmation that my things were even successfully picked up and safely in their possession from the pickup location. REALLY nerve racking when you are putting your property in the trust of a company’s «care» from the other side of the country. Further, a few days before the inconvenient delivery that was still not confirmed with a solid date or time, I was told that the driver didn’t feel comfortable driving his truck in Brooklyn so I would have to find a way to rent a car and drive to New Jersey to pick it up, or pay $ 300 MORE for them to rent a van to deliver my stuff to me even though I paid for door to door service. I live by a Home Depot and large trucks drive up and down my block every day, so their initial fabrication that I was liable because I live in an area where trucks can’t legally drive, was negated when I proved with an
truck route map, that I do in fact live where trucks can drive. After causing quite a stir and bringing up my attorney being on the verge of interference, I was basically «bribed» by Eric telling me he would pay for the shuttle for the incompetent driver working for them (who doesn’t know how to drive in a city) as long as he «didn’t see any reviews» such as this one on the web. WELP… I was cool with letting it go until they delivered me a 100+ lb box of SOMEONE ELSE’S belongings that has now been in my small kitchen for a few weeks and they have yet to rectify this situation. Luckily, social media has provided me and the other victims of this illegitimate moving service to come together and form a plan of action. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU. THEY ARE LIARS AND THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR PROPERTY.

My reviews have been canceled numerous times. Have been taken advantage of by this company and it hurts that I am not allowed to warn others. Please don’t use this moving at all cost. I know it sounds cheaper and everything looks good initially but you would be faced with the reality on the day of the move. My husband and I were given a quote of 1234 to move from CA to TX. On the day of the move, we ended up get a total of 2561 or else they won’t move the things. Mind you, our flight was later on that day. My husband had no choice but to agree. When we got to TX, we called to check on our things. And we were told they were in the storage (this was not part of the plan with Amy). We asked for when we will receive this item, and we were told in four days. We waited for almost two months before we got our items. Items all damaged, broken, clothes damages with water. Three laptops stolen, all my accessories and my gold jewelries stolen. My husband’s Xbox stolen. My kitchen utensils all stolen. And then we still had to pay another hidden 200 dollars.
We called and no one seemed to care. We were sent a form to a claim company called Anthem. Nothing has happened since then. I wish my husband paid attention to the reviews here, we would have saved ourselves these pain and agony.
Pls avoid this company at all cost. Before signing up with them, they r nice. Once it is the day of the move, the real color comes out.

OMG! I just went thru the worst experience of my life with this company. Wish I had read these reviews before. Everything people are writing is very true down to the names of people dealt with. How do they live with themselves?
Double charges, wanted to charge double the double charges if not available when they decide to show up at the last minute even though they will not give you any information about delivery dates. no matter how many times you ask, even the night before. EVERYTHING broken, damaged or missing. I posted pictures. Something wet and nasty got on everything. Will write additional review in a few days when I open everything. Extremely rude and unethical. The language used and how they address customers is unbelievable. I have insulting and harassing texts and emails. I have not even started the claim process, but can only imagine. Will let lawyer handle this.
I have moved 7 times in the past 5 years, 5 of these times across states and have not experienced anything like this.
We should all sue and report this to every government agency and consumer report we can find. This is completely unacceptable! It is up to us to shut this place down. A negative review is not going to do it. Do something!

move date:2/25/2015. following not delivered: 8’x10’area rug; 2 metal shelving units; boxes: IPOD and Bose docking station, Bose Soundtouch Music System; 2 boxes morino wool and handmade wool tapestries; box handmade soap and supplies; oversized chair; box kitchen pans;2 plastic containers Woof Poof collectible dolls; box personal photos & paperwork; plastic storage crystals and 100 containers various beads and jewelry making supplies worth over $ 1,000; antique turtle lamp;box silver metal clay and silver wire and tools; box clothing; box of CD’s; box tools for lampworking handmade torch beads including torch; 1 box of glass rods; 1 box of flat glass for glass fusing.
I have had no cooperation with this company and they will not respond to my calls or emails regarding the goods that were NOT delivered. The Household Goods Inventory was illegible and difficult to read what was listed and the amount. They refuse to acknowledge any questions and have been rude and indicate they do not care.
I was also quoted a price and I overstated by several large pieces of furniture what would be included in the inventory so I wouldn’t be hit with additional space/​charges. These chairs and dressers were not loaded on moving day so the actual volume was way less than the original price and yet on moving day, they insisted I was over my volume. I had no choice but to pay.
I belatedly noticed the «Supervisor» Erik didn’t list my 8’x10x area carpet even though they placed it on the truck (I saw it).
The items they have not delivered amounts to several thousands dollars… and the glass and jewelry making supplies I purchased for over $ 2,500 worth was to supplement my retirement income by making glass beads and jewelry.
Everything I purchased was with my bankcard and some items I purchased years ago, such as the collectible dolls and do not have the receipts. Beads were purchased in Oceano, CA «Joy of Beading» and I’m sure the owner will attest to the fact I purchase thousands of dollars worth of beads and crystals and silver wire.
Also, my $ 1500.00 kiln which they packed was delivered broken!!! As well as broken lamp, vase, and glass.
No return phone calls, no concern for my lost goods. «Supervisors» TAMMY & Erik don’t care and insist everything was delivered (NOT!!!)…but said they’d look for the carpet though. I can’t even get through to talk to them, the girl answering the phone either disconnects me or tells me she’s on another line… no return call from Tammy no reply to my emails.
This company is not trustworthy!
Also, they subcontract out the actual out-​of-​state delivery and I spoke to the owner of the company, American Spirit Moving as well as the delivery driver, and both insist they have no warehouse in which to store the items… AND, when they pick up the load the employees of America’s Choice Moving LOAD the semi. So whatever America’s Choice Moving loads is what is delivered! The driver did not see the carpet, the metal shelving or any of the items I listed being loaded on his truck!

I just moved from CA to IL. I chose this company based on their Unilocal reviews but sadly I was left VERY DISAPPOINTED!
I took measurements of ALL my items– down to a T and provided them to Lisa, a sales rep for a quote. She assured me that since I had provided exact dimensions of my goods that I would not be charged any additional charges after pick up and she sent me a BINDING QUOTE. At pick up the driver told me he was going to be charging me an additional $ 330 because my items took up more space. I told him that I gave exact dimensions so I should not be penalized and he said «our sales reps don’t know how items will fit in the truck so the quote is just a quote.» Is that a joke? What is the point of getting a quote if it means nothing. He also tried to charge me for a long carry of over 75 feet and I explained to him that I actually measure the distance and it was only 68 feet (tried to RIP ME OFF).
4 days after my items were picked up I called to get a status. I was told that my items were still in CA and would probably not be leaving for a few more days– this is after I was told my items would 100% be delivered within 10 days.
When my items finally arrived 2 and ½ weeks later they were a WRECK!!! I will write another comment to show pictures. My stuff was smashed between 2 other peoples items and literally crunched! The driver pulled a bunch of boxes out and said «oh those are not yours» and I had to show him my own personal labeling that clearly had my name on it. It was a MESS and so disorganized, I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. A few of my boxes had NO LABEL from the company on them so when I tried to take inventory it made it very difficult and I am pretty sure I lost a box of kitchen goods.
I called the company to express my anger with the services I received and requested that at the very least the refund me the additional $ 330 that I was unrightfully charged at pick up. Eric, the manager /​dispatched all but laughed in my face and said «well you got your stuff didn’t you?». He was extremely defensive and unhelpful. He said at most he would offer me $ 100 back (seriously?). I told him I wanted to speak to his manager or the owner and he then said, «I am the owner.» Literally flat out LIED about owning the company. I requested a call back once he had the chance to talk this over with a superior, he NEVER got back to me. I followed up and still have not heard back.
This company is a joke and provide terrible customer service after they take your money. They also charge you more for every little thing than any other company. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!

I am filing a complaint against this moving company for MULTIPLE reasons. I got a job in Houston, TX and decided to move from Newport Beach, CA to Houston, TX.
— The first issue that I had with the company, is that they didn’t weigh my items and added a $ 250 charge to the original moving cost they quoted me.
— Secondly, on the day of pick-​up the driver, who I later learned is the storage manager, did NOT want to sell me the insurance. In fact he said, «I don’t need it». What kind of company doesn’t want to sell insurance!
— They picked up my personal items on June 2^nd and claimed they would deliver them 7 – 10 business days after pick-​up.
— When I called on June 10^th to inquire about delivery, they claimed the items would be leaving California within the week.
— I called the next week (June 18^th), they claimed that they had a broken down truck and weren’t going to be able to move my items for another week.
— They claimed a broken down truck for the next 3 weeks.
— Every time I called to inquire about my things, I was spoken to with disrespect. They lied to me about the timeframe, they got attitude with me on the phone and they even said, «It doesn’t matter what we tell you, you are going to believe whatever you want!» I had to respond to the person with a question. I asked her, «who is the customer? me or you?!»
— I was told that I would receive a call as soon as my items were being shipped; sadly I was not.
— I spoke to the «storage manager» (who’s name is Eric Diaz — phone number: 818.802.8869) and I expressed my concern for missing items. He ASSURED me that there were NO items missing and that everything was on the truck.
— My items didn’t leave until July 4^th, and I wasn’t aware until July 7^th.
— I was forced to take a day off from my NEW JOB to wait for the delivery.
— In order to receive my items, or even SEE my items (for proof of things) I was forced to provide cash/​money order.
— I have $ 15 000 worth of items MISSING and lazy people who don’t care to help me out AT ALL!!!
WORST EVER!!!

We used this company to move from California to Florida. They had 4 months notice of the dates in which we were going to move. When the time came, they had no trucks available, for 6 weeks! Our salesperson, Tammy, disappeared after pick-​up day never to answer a call again. They were late showing up the day of pick-​up so we had to leave them at our house to catch our flights.
We ended up calling another company to go get our belongings from Americas Choice Moving after 6 weeks of them holding our things hostage. This cost us thousands of dollars extra and to top it off, we were double charged for packing by America’s Choice and there was nothing we could do about it. During this 6 week period there was no communication from anyone at that company and they rarely answered our calls or sent us from person to person and then lied about who was responsible for what. It was absolutely insane!
When our things arrived, my husband’s new computer was gone. Our art was damaged. A glass table top was missing. A desk chair and desk pads, a ladder, and a patio table were all missing. Their response, everything they packed from our house was loaded on the truck with the new company (who was reliable, communicative and did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it). Because we had to hire a new company to get our things, this left us vulnerable to damage and theft and they sure took advantage of that!
If I knew what I know now, I would never have hired this company, I would never even have let them in my house.
You’ve seen the horror stories on the news about movers. Americas Choice Moving and Storage is a prime horror story example!
I could go on and on about this company but the bottom line is DON’T USE THEM! If I could give them negative stars, I would have!
