My mom and I go here for brunch a lot. It’s delish. Their homemade bread is tasty as heck and their cinnamon rolls(which are the size of your face, but only if you have a large face) are to diiiie for. Sometimes the servers can be a little short with you, but I think it’s because they get so busy, it can get stressful. I don’t hold it against them because they’re human, too, and even when they’re stressed they give good service!!! Love it here. Highly recommend it to anyone and everyone in the area.

The best eggs Benedict in Valpo! Good attentive service as well. I just wish it was closer to our house.

Before I get down to the nitty-gritty on this place, let me just say this: the cinnamon roll was epic. If a review were done on the cinnamon roll alone, it would need 6 stars. Oh, man, was it good. But, unfortunately the rest of my experience just couldn’t measure up to that one piece of cinnamon-y perfection. Knowing this to be a simple local diner, I certainly wasn’t excepting a life-changing meal – just a good, simple breakfast for my wife and I. Aside from the pastry heaven though, the food was disappointing. Eggs were meager, the sausage was cheap, and the toast was burnt. A breakfast diner should be able to offer something at least on par with what I could make at home. As a bake shop, Suzie’s definitely gets my thumbs up. Anyone who makes goodies like that will get my business. However, within the category of inexpensive diners, there are still a half dozen other places in Valpo that I would recommend before this one.

Really great breakfast choices and huge portions and good home style country cooking. I have had the skillet breakfast now a couple of times and it is so delicious. Get the home made bread upgrade, the walnut wheat or cinnamon raisen are amazing. I have not ordered it, but the cinnamon roll looks like it is the size of your head, fresh made, covered in yummy frosting and I am sure it is oh so delicious!

This place will make you cheat on your diet every single time. Just walking in there is the bakery case with cookies, muffins, cakes you name it that look sinful to eat. I ordered a birthday cake for my husband and you knew one piece was your meal in calories for the day, but you just can’t help yourself. My favorite is breakfast they also have specials that are great and if I’m feeling like behaving they’re fruit cup it always fresh(which I have ordered twice because I was determined to be healthy that day). Honestly I don’t know how you could be unhappy with the service either, usually 2 or 3 people ask you if someone got your drink order.

I ordered a salad and my husband ordered the special of sloppy joe with a side of potato salad. First off, I ordered their«homemade» dressing… creamy garlic… well creamy garlic is mayo with garlic salt… wow, really? A few pieces of the salad tasted raunchy, like the lettuce was old… Now lets get to the«sloppy joe» it was the most disgusting sloppy joe I have ever tasted. I am talking mamwich would appear to be a top chef item compared to this. It was DRY and flavorless. He said he didn’t want it and ordered a burger instead… we should have just left after we sent the sloppy joe back… The burger was THE lowest quality meat I have ever tasted. It was chewy and gross… We were going to get a few cinnamon rolls to go but after that gross experience, we passed on the cinnamon rolls and left very unsatisfied!

My hubby, daughter, and I were meeting up with my step-daughter and grandson on Easter at Suzie’s. I am on a very strict diet for the time being and had to bring my own food to eat. I had planned on eating it in the vehicle before going in since most restaurants usually don’t allow outside food. Hubby decided to at least try and ask the owner if it was okay to bring it in due to the circumstances. They not only let me, but they even plated it, warmed it up, and washed my bowls for me!!! I was soooooo impressed and pleased! We definitely gave them a good tip and now I want to give them a great review! Especially since the rest of my family enjoyed their meal orders from the restaurant as well! I can’t wait to be able to enjoy Suzie’s food and goodies when I’m off my diet!

Great breakfast and lunch. Service is fast and friendly, and prices are reasonable. The breakfast sandwich is a highlight. Portions are large. The cinnamon roll is actually too large, it used to be moist and delicious, now it’s just a loaf of white bread with icing. My only complaint is the restaurant. Only an idiot would put the waiting room in a narrow, busy hallway. Also, there were three job applications hung on the wall by the register with social security numbers, phone numbers, and addresses visible.

Extremely friendly staff. Excellent food. I had apple and cinnamon pancakes. I was pleased with the slices of apples cooked into the pancakes. All in all we enjoyed the meal. I was blown away by the size of their cinnamon rolls. Biggest I’ve ever seen. I don’t get to Valparaiso often but when I do, Suzies will be our regular stop.

From the moment we walked in it was packed! However we got seated quickly and someone got our drinks right away. I ordered a #2 and my boyfriend got steak and eggs. We both ordered coffee and they tasted very burnt like they had been sitting for a while. We asked for another cup and it was fine. Our food was good, but the steak had no flavor and both our scrambled eggs were runny. Our bill was $ 25, before tip, just for the two of us. The service and food was okay but If you’re looking to save some cash I would go to the McDonalds down the street.

Amazing food and service. Staff are friendly. Desserts are perfect and huge! Orange juice and coffee are great. Homemade toast tastes excellent. I would definitely recommend Suzys.

Have gone for breakfast and lunch. It’s normally busy for breakfast but worth the wait. Food is great, staff is friendly and attentive. Good prices for the amount of food you get.

I can’t even begin to count how many times we have enjoyed breakfast at Suzies. The food is great, reasonably priced, and the service is super fast and friendly. It has worked out great for us when we need to eat quick and get somewhere. My breakfast favorites are the chocolate pancakes and the country skillet. My lunch favorites are the grilled cheese and the cheesy Italian beef sandwich. If you have a sweet tooth there are always an array of delicious options(usually too hard to just choose one!) I highly recommend Suzies Café!

We were passing through hoping to check out Valparaiso U and looking for lunch. Saw this place got great Unilocal reviews so we had to stop for lunch. This place is great! They have a great selection of breakfast and lunch items. Plus, they make their own bread. In our group, we had French toast and bacon(two slices of thick homemade bread), Italian beef sandwich, Turkey sandwich on marble rye, ham and egg sandwich, Cobb salad. Everything was fantastic for adults and kids. The portions were sizeable and everything tasted fresh and homemade. Each dish was under $ 10! They have ‘outdoor’ seating that is actually a screened-in porch. It was perfect to keep the sun and bugs out. They also have bakery items to purchase on your way out the door. One it’s a huge cinnamon roll for $ 4. It could easily feed several people. We were full from lunch and didn’t partake. Great stop not visible from the main road. Another Unilocal success story!!! P. S.- I hope this review passes typo scrutiny(that’s you, Smalls!)

Second time at Suzie’s, and it definitely delivered! Took me awhile to come back, for some reason I thought I hadn’t liked it the first time, but this second time proved different. Our server was friendly and stopped by at the perfect intervals to see if we needed anything. We ordered a cinnamon roll to start, which I didn’t expect to be the same size as my sons head(9 months old for reference)! It was warm, gooey, and delicious. My wife ordered scrambled eggs and bacon, while I got a meat lovers skillet with veggies added. Huge portions! Everything tasted fresh, not precooked, hot and delicious. One qualm, my wife specifically asked for extra crisp hashbrowns and they came out limp and white. She’s not too picky though! A great experience, I could see why people recommend Suzie’s so fondly. We’ll be back!

Delicious fresh homemade food at reasonable prices. Love the 3 cheese omelet and the peanut butter pie is to die for. Very busy around noon on Sundays but they keep it moving. Food comes out quickly. Amazing how well a restaurant can do by just using fresh ingredients and making everything fresh that day!

Wonderful food. Have never had a bad meal here and we love this place! The service does start to slack when it gets busy. Otherwise, cute atmosphere, wonderful food, and all reasonably priced.

Delightful little café with great food and great ambiance! It’s the kind of breakfast and lunch place where my wife and I can go and hang out. Today I had the chorizo burger — hamburger with chorizo mixed in topped with avocado. It was really good but the one thing I would have liked is something like a chipotle mayo… something to complement the great spicy taste of the chorizo. The burger was a bit more«dry» than I wanted it. I ordered sweet potato fries with it and was pleased. I’m committed to going back! In fact, I picked up three cinnamon rolls and brought them home for breakfast tomorrow morning…

I LOVE Suzie’s. In my opinion their coffee is better than most cafes in Valpo, if not all. Every time I go there the food is great. It is always really busy but you never have to wait too long to get your food. The only complaints I have are that I wish it was closer to central downtown(it’s kind of in a weird location) and that I once got bacon in an omelete after expressing I was a vegetarian to to the waitress. Usually that would turn me off from a restaurant but honestly it is a great breakfast place and I would recommend it to anyone.

I love Suzie’s! My parents come here every Saturday, so when I’m home from school I tag along. Their homemade raisin toast or cinnamon rolls, which are as big as your head, are simply delicious.
