Very dangerous dept. Hopefully things have changed. They try to charge anybody and everybody for a DUI and when they see you are an abiding citizen then things are going to be worse for you… If you think you are safe because you are one of the very few good guys left on this earth, think again with these «officers». They will falsely charge you with extremely serious charges and will refuse your phone call. Because of them not finding anything on O’Connor a few years back, they got so angry they arrested her and locked her up for 5 days without a phone call she needed to make so somebody could feed her kitten. Sadly she when she got out she ran home as fast as she could only to find her kitten died of starvation and dehydration. The charges were dropped in court due to lack of evidence and of course being the midwest the the men who abducted her with an illegal arrest and killed her kitty were not charged. Not ever a slap on the wrist. All I can say is when you are in Indiana record everything, exercise your second amendment right, and be aware that the very people the law is meant to protect you from are the ones that have badges here.

May need an overhaul. Call for help & you may be denied. Stranded in a snowstorm… tough! Getting pulled over on a dark road? Careful if you try to go to a well lit area. They may arrest you. You can be slapped with a citation for no real reason even if you are not in the state at the time. People speeding/​running stop signs/​outlandish noise in residential… they’re too busy even with all their officers. Have a neighbor who is a cop? Expect them to get away with anything.
Compassion-​nope! Fairness-​negative.
I’m disappointed to say I am not impressed. I have always held cops to a higher standard & up until this department they have met those standards & some have surpassed them. This department needs a lesson on working with society. Not everyone is a criminal. Most are tax payers who want the best for their community. They have a long way to go before they meet my expectations. Just my Unilocal opinion.
