I rented a storage unit from them that they have on the side of the store. I returned only a few days later after a snow fall of about 10 inches and car car load of stuff, to find that they had completely plowed snow in from of just my unit and a few others. I talked to Sheryl who I guess manages the storage units and her response was that it’s my responsibility to clear the snow, are you kidding me? You guys plowed it up in front of my unit!!! I don’t keep a snow shovel in my back pocket, I should be able to get into my unit without you activity obstructing it. Unbelievably poor customer service.

This is by far my favorite place to shop for hardware, especially on the north side of Valpo. It is well-​stocked, prices are competitive, family owned, clean and friendly. Most importantly it is full of knowledgeable, low-​pressure employees, wandering the aisles eager to help. You might save a few cents at a big-​box store, but the helpful employees, accessibility, parking, and overall shopping experience at Phillips Ace Hardware adds sufficient value to easily justify any slight price differential. Great people, great place.

This place is awesome. Support your local small business. Philips ace hardware is more than just tools. They. Have. Everything. Tools, gardening, every home improvement section, Boy Scout supplies, Fannie Mae, ladies jewelry, geez and the staff is extremely helpful and very nice.
