Once Upon A Child

I would like to start by saying that I called a couple of times and spoke with a few different worker to get a clear understanding of what is accepted and what isn’t accepted. I brought in a bin full of baby clothes and item also a swing. All in mint condition. I would like to add that the clothing were for a newborn so they had only been worn a few times. The girl I gave my things to was very unwelcoming and very snobbish. While She and her coworkers went through the items and checked out the swing. I chose to browse and shop. I observed unkempt caucasian children running about the store with no shoes on! Some of the clothing on the racks were stained and very worn. My first issue is I was never informed that they were done observing my things. It was until I asked, that they even told me. My next issue was that they lied and said that there were no matching outfits and the clothes were stained. Out of all the things I brought they only took $ 14.00 worth of items. Everything the left were outfits and they only took «mitch match» items! They actually tried to take a pair if pants and leave the shirt that went with it! I truly believe that the ONLY reason they didn’t accept MY things was because I was African American and the is an predominately Caucasian area. This place won’t be in business too much longer!

I had a great experience there. Sold a stroller for a decent price and picked up a few baby items. Clothes and toys were CLEAN and in great shape — much better than other locations I’ve been to. Service was courteous and hassle-​free.

Dirty toys, damaged toys, overpriced books. Crown Point location is smaller, but cleaner and the prices are better. A book I bought for $ 1.50 in Crown Point was $ 4.50 here.

This place is okay. I do buy pants for my daughter here and there so it helps a lot to buy them with growth spurts and all. If you plan to sell to them and actually have decent stuff, I would try online first or donate cause they will sift through and only take what’s in season or want. I took two bins full and basically canes back with only a little bit gone and my items were in awesome condition, was a waste of time and I then had to point out which bins were mine cause they couldn’t tell or remember. Needs more organization behind the desk.

This is the best OUAC I have been too. I always find great, clean stuff here and the staff is friendly also.
