History

Established in 1908.

MacLennan & Bain Insurance has served our community for more than a century. One of our founding members, Leslie Bain, was joined in 1936 by his son Ross Bain, whose rewarding career extended until his retirement in 1986.

Kenneth MacLennan joined our firm in 1938 and enjoyed a successful career until his retirement in 1989. His son, John MacLennan, joined the agency in 1960 and remains very active. In 1985, Ross MacLennan joined Kenneth and John in the business. «We had a 5-​year period during which the three generations worked together, starting a career with my grandfather and father was indeed very special», Ross .

The agency originated in Gary, Indiana moved to Merrillville in 1972 and relocated in 2001 to Valparaiso in the unique Town Centre building within the Aberdeen community.
