The Collective Studio: Los Angeles specializes in workshops for actors, writers and directors. We recently branched out into our own theatrical production company producing theatre that sparks social change. Our recent projects include ‘The Shadow Box’ by Michael Cristopher and ‘Jesus Hopped the A Train’ by Stephen Adly Guirgis. We believe working collectively breeds collective success. Each artist is a gift! Our workshops are small and create a warm inviting place to work.

History

Established in 2011.

A fairly new small business, The Collective Studio: Los Angeles is a place where artists come to work and play. Only a year after the companies’ birth, the studio expanded to produce its very own Equity production of ‘The Shadow Box’ by Michael Cristopher, a show under the Actor’s Equity 99 Seat Plan. In 2013, they expanded to produce Jesus Hopped the «A» Train, by Stephen Adly Guirgis, a stark and sobering examination of life, death, salvation and what it takes to be a «good» person. We believe in creating theatre that calls for social change and is full of rich material for artists. This studio is a small intimate space with big dreams! We continue to produce and expand. Our new project is a Original One Acts Play festival coming in 2014.
