Ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger Deluxe and a BLT and was delicious. Will definitely come back when in the area. Excellent service!

My mother ate here with a friend and raved about the food. This was my first time eating here and she was right. Portions are huge, food is fresh, strong coffee, friendly servers and no wait time on a Sunday afternoon. Great place for brunch or breakfast. I like supporting local businesses and will definitely come back.

I’m almost the lone diner… again I heard it can get quite busy in here but I’m yet to experience this crowd they speak of. Their personable staff is always more than diners whenever I visit which isn’t a bad thing… for me. I get full attention and I’m loving it! Stop! This isn’t McDonald is it? Staff seem to consist of mainly Mediterranean men which isn’t a bad thing… for me. Stop! This isn’t Tinder is it? Large space, very chill, country like atmosphere and the food is always tasty. I love their baked clams. Side note: don’t come here if you’re feeling melancholy…“I’ve looked at clouds from both sides now, from up and down, and still somehow it’s cloud illusions I recall. I really don’t know clouds at all.” playing in the background can take you to strange places. I like here and I’m sure you’ll find something to like too. The End.

We have since returned since our walk out for lack of service. Must say that it is a lot better experience this time than in the past. Food is typical of any diner food and place is clean. We will still frequent this diner since everyone is entitled to a bad day once awhile. See you soon.

Never will be back! This place was always average diner food with very high prices. It has now become a huge ripoff with terrible customer service. Stopped there late last night with my wife and son after a drive from NJ. My wife and son ordered the twin burger which they have shared many tiimes. The waiter never brought the pickles and cole slaw which was always standard. They never got a second plate either. I ordered an egg cream. When it arrived it was a little more than half filled very small glass. I asked the waiter to fill it and he told me that’s the way an egg cream comes. When the bill came. .19.95 for a twin cheeseburger deluxe. My wife questioned the cashier. He said it was extra for the cheese… it was a cheesburger… When we questioned the manager he said 2.00 sharing charge. This place is no longer going to get any of our business. There are so many better places in the area. Never going to Val Brook again.

I’ve never had a problem the few times I’ve been here. One thing that keeps me coming back? The muffins! The bran muffin especially is just so good.

Nice, clean place with good food and friendly, efficient service. They have a nice menu(especially at lunchtime) and good desserts. It is definitely one of the better diners in this area.

If you enjoy real«diner food», you’ll enjoy Valbrook. There is nothing spectacular about this restaurant. It fits all the requirements for typical diner food. The menu is enormous, with a seemingly endless number of selections to choose from. The service is good. The prices are average. The food is just average, but the portions are really large. A great deal for the price! There’s parking. It’s a nice place to grab a bite, or have dinner without spending a fortune.

I like this diner. The service was great. The atmosphere is nice. I had the chicken souflaki sandwich. The tziki sauce was tasty. They serve you pickles and cole slaw free before the meal which is nice.

So I stopped here to get some pre errand nourishment. I ordered the spinach feta omelette which comes with home fries. Added a side of turkey sausage. What a disappointment. I continuously tried to give to sausage a chance, but the overplump bad turkey hotdog feel would not subside. They need to switch that out! Awful. Only other option was pork. My omelette? Overcooked. Homefries? Undercooked. They asked if I wanted to box anything as my plate was left partially eaten. I wanted to ask for a refire or refund, but those can end badly for the eater. I won’t go back. Reputation fail is how I’d describe this breakfast experience.

If you have no where else to go then this will do. Otherwise avoid. Food is just ok at best.

Let me just say the only thing good here is the turkey sausage which is two dollars added to your entire meal extra by the way. My friend and I went here and they gave us undercooked food. We asked for a fresh batch and all he did was fry the already fucked plate. And the problem with that is you will forget who ate what and they did. Very unprofessional. Even though the manager was very nice and didnt make us pay for the undercooked french toast, we still paid for what we ate. I had to pay 14.00 for orange juice, undercooked eggs, and turkey sausage. My friend paid 13.00 for potatoes, bacon, and soda. Tl/dr: bottom line i shouldn’t have to pay for poor quality food. I am very disappointed because i usually like their french toast and I wanted a treat. No longer giving this place my business and i am sorry I ever did.

First off… to all the reviewers saying«this is just a diner». What exactly does that mean? That they are allowed to be less than mediocre??? I think not! Its 2015DINERSHAVEUPGRADED! Most diners are trying to step up their food game and still have affordable prices.(IE Silver Diner in Virginia). Is NY not aware? This place is a run down disgrace. I gave up eating their food last year because of constant issues… old food/bland, lack of seasoning/overcooked/undercooked etc… However, one night my boyfriend and I were craving desserts. Being that it was late at night there were only a few options in this area. We were already on Merrick Road so I decided to give them a try and see how the dessert would be. How could you screw up desserts right? They did! We picked up the dessert and went home to eat it. Long story short when we got home we found out that the Strawberry Shortcake cake that we got was dry and not that fresh. It wasn’t the strawberry shortcake that was that bad it was the other dessert, a chocolate soufflé sort of dessert that had mold in the center. Sad thing is to get to the center you have to take a bite which my boyfriend unfortunately did. He instantly notice a tart taste and that’s when I looked where he had dug his spoon in and noticed fungus growing all in the cup. I will NEVEREVEREVERGOBACK! They are not serving fresh food. I think the only people that would give this diner anything but 0 or 1 star are ppl who are old and have been going there forever and have no tastebuds. They need to do way better. This diner is so convenient but ill go all the way to Freeport instead so I can eat food that hasn’t gone bad. Throw in the towel… lock the doors and tear this place down.

Ok so I went with 2 buddies of mine for brunch. It was very crowded as we drove into the parking lot. Once inside we could see why, it was 11:30 on a Monday morning and the place was packed. We got a table right away and the wait staff was very nice. I ordered the Romanian Pastrami with a side of fries all together $ 14 and it wasn’t bad, but I have had better. I ran into 2 people I knew while there. Overall I would go there again.

A lot of reviews are complaining about the prices and the taste of the food. I’m here the day that the prices were pretty standard and the BREAKFAST was exceptional. I’m talking WELL seasoned home fries; probably the best I’ve ever had. The pancakes were delicious! Tasted like cake lol. If you get them you might wanna eat a lighter lunch. Very good service too, manager was very attentive. Like Arnold, «I’ll be back!»

Little too expensive for a diner, strike one. Didn’t have veggies in the matzoball soup, strike two. Parking to seat availability ratio isn’t proportional, strike three.

ValBrook Diner. Packed as usual and there’s always someone you know there! An extensive menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great burgers, nice oversized sandwiches and a very good selection of dinners.(Super generous portions). Moderate prices. Always left overs! There’s a small parking lot and on street parking. Bustling, happy vibes and good food on the border of Valley Stream and Lynbrook.

Basic diner. Basic experience. The service was good and my Pizza Burger was okay. The service was basic. They gave refills and were attentive, but the overall experience wasn’t memorable. The food is a little expensive, but I expect that for a diner. Not much of a deal breaker for me. I may be back under right circumstances. Only here tonight for a late-night snack and we’re hitting Guys & Dolls Billiards across the street.
