The best kept secret on Long Island. Great fresh baked bread and rolls ²⁴⁄₇. It’s worth the trip.

Well, we had this account in the early-​mid 70‘s. I never had their product back then tho. Over the years I would think about it from time to time, was it still there, open? Had a job in the area so I went there. And I am glad I did, I dont get bread like this unless my cousins bring it out from Brooklyn. The twist is as good or better, than any I have had. The olive loaf was delicious! So glad I found you again after 40 yrs your the best!

This place is a commercial bakery, so its front has no luxurious décor. However, its rolls are some of the best on Long Island and the prices cannot be beat! 50 cents for a Kaiser Roll and Club/​Hero Rolls. Always good place to visit!

My family has been using this place for years… friends and family who come from out of state actually request some to be sent home with them it is THAT good! Great variety and they even make bagels now… which are delicious.

Been there done that and a repeat customer. Out of the oven and amazing with whatever bread you get (ask them to bring fresh loaves or rolls or bagels from ovens area) Only negative is that you wind up tearing off pieces of the addictive tasting bread as you drive, so that by time you reach home, it may require a uturn. Place open 24 hours I understand and they service local restaurants.

My cousin got a pretzel plater from them it was excellent. Went their myself got their brocolli and cheese bread we almost finished it in the car on the way home.

If you looking for that fresh and soft bread that just melt in your mouth well go there its cheap reasonable prices and thems breads stay soft for at least 3days after purchasing them… so yes I like this spot!!! Until next time my Dough. lol get it

Simply delicious. Nice value for the money. The fact that they never close is a super plus!
The Semolina is why I go and we haven’t been disappointed yet! If you get it when it’s coming out of the oven, faggidaboutit!

The best bread around! The ladies are very helpful and very pleasant. I am addicted to their french bread. Yummy, its so good.

To have a great business, you don’t necessarily need to have a fancy store front. This place proves that. Known to my family as just «Ray’s,» this place has the freshest bread around. It is located off Merrick Road and can be hard to find because of its factory-​like setting (if your not from the area.)
The place alone is nothing to rave about. When you walk in, there are two desks where I guess the receptionist/​bookkeeper sits. She also takes the money from customers. There is a pretty large bread «closet» to the left of the door. Each shelf is stocked with brand-​spanken new loaves of Italian bread (with or without seeds), assorted rolls, and the newest addition, whole wheat Italian bread. I am sure they have more, but I just stick with the Italian bread.
The coolest part is you pick your own. They provide the gloves and wax paper. Writing this review, I can almost taste the hot, flaky bread I have grown to know and love.
I always get two loaves because I devour at least half of a loaf just driving home! You can’t beat the price (two loaves are less than $ 5.)
I never let a good sandwich go without Ray’s Bakery bread!

When I was a kid in the 60s, my father would stop by every Sunday morning and buy a large bag of sesame and poppy seed rolls for us. I am glad to see that they are still around!
