I like the food but today I went and I asked for tap water and they said the couldn’t give me tap water? I don’t understand why but I didn’t find it logical.

If you’ve never tried Peruvian-style roasted chicken, this might be a good place to start. The food is always fresh and consistently tasty. The rotisserie chicken is perfectly seasoned, juicy and hot, right off the spit! The value is great. Two people can share a whole chicken, rice & beans, a delicious salad and tostones for less than $ 20!!! There’s also steak & onions, a variety of seafood dishes, soups, etc. I recommend Pollo a la Brasa!

The food came out pretty fast and they keep up with u and ur needs of u need somthing it’s like they know and they ask. The green sauce is amazing can’t eat without it. The surroundings is Goood they have a great bathroom lol also it’s never really packed so it’s a lil quite to enjoy ur meal in peace. I’ll come back

I love the Sangria here. The food is good here too. The Jalea use to be good but they have gotten cheap and you barely get any fish. Don’t be fool by the description! But the short Spanish waitress has zero personality. I don’t know how they stay in business with someone who doesn’t greet you and never ever comes to the table to check on you. To come to this place again, your going to have to get over her… She is a complete turn off. I went there yesterday and in three hours there, she NEVER asked if we wanted anything else. She is nasty and should be fired. Check your receipt, she will put a «service charge» on your bill.

TERRIBLE Service!!! Me and my boyfriend came here for lunch the other day, he ordered my regular order which is half chicken rice and beans… I ordered their fried calamari, since I always come eat their chicken as a regular customer. I must’ve ate 1 and half pieces of it and I brought the plate to the waitress to tell her how it does not taste good… it taste like rubber… she then started arguing with me how it’s good calamari and how it’s fresh etc etc with a nasty attitude. My boyfriend then suggested to order something else. Which I did and ended up with my regular order the chicken. When it was time for us to pay the bill, I noticed how she didn’t take off the calamari and said to us «we went to the kitchen and tasted the calamari and maybe u never had calamari so you don’t know how calamari tastes like» I then told her how I am a waitress’s myself and I would never just complain about something unless it’s really bad and the fact that I come to eat there often I expected a little bit better of customer service. She demanded for us to pay for a plate we did not eat and it was awful!!! NEVEREVERIMGOINGBACKTHEREAGAIN! TERRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE!!! She lost me as a regular customer! The food is alright not as good as it used to be. With a terrible waitress who doesn’t even pay any attention to her customers, always on her cellphone. She might as well just go home.

The bad reviews are all from their horrible service and I agree. Which is really sad and It’s because they have the same woman in there everytime and she never knows how to be proper server. Never checks on the table, I had to get up and ask for a refill on water or sauce or napkins. Nonetheless, their food is AMAZING. and they aren’t pricy either. Just order takeout! It’s well worth it!

The service was not the best. I walked in and I was gawked at like, «What are you doing here?» Then the woman at the counter didn’t look my way when addressing me. Part of a patron returning is customer service. Because I would give a mediocre restaurant another chance if the service is good but their food was lackluster. I have been to many rotisserie chicken restaurants where the chicken was so flavorful. Either way… I am not returning and I don’t recommend it. But please, be my guest.

I came here with my dad and my sister for dinner. We ordered the millennium combo #2 and I was quite unhappy with my service. There was only one waitress and she was terrible. We had to wait nearly 5 minutes for menus! Then on top of that we ordered our meal with waters and we never received our waters! The food arrived and the food was quite tasty. However, salad was part of the combo and we never received our salad. The chicken was out of this world! It was great and I love the yellow rice with beans. The fries needed more salt and the waitress did not offer us ketchup. She did not do her job well. On top of that, I asked for a water one more time and she gave me a bottle of water. I didn’t ask for a bottle! I asked for a cup of water. This lady was just an idiot and top of that she put her own tip on the bill for a party of 3. What an idiot! Hire people with more intelligence!

I continue to visit this place for the rotisserie chicken, and green sauce. Minimal décor, but eat-in or take-out is extremely good.

I was looking for a good ceviche de camarón. Since they do have good beans and chicken. The ceviche was not what I was expecting and to have spent more then 15 $ on it. it was a shame. The shrimps were very tiny and tasteless. Almost tasted like pre-cooked cheap shrimps. I have also posted a picture of the shrimps. And as an Ecuadorian who loves the Peruvian style ceviche I would not recommend. They might have other great plates but turn around if you’re looking for ceviche.

I hope that anyone thinking of going there, thinks twice after this review. Went there for a Sunday afternoon dinner with parents and got the worst service. Everyone was rude and did not accommodate the Guests request of sitting where we wanted and also the wait is horrible. My story is too long, so here is a rundown… — Nasty rude waitress that didn’t even apologize for taking so much time to sit us, get us menus and even bring our drinks. — Waiting for the food took too long and the most simplest of the dishes we ordered took far too long to arrive at our table. I think she did it because someone in my party asked her why she was taking so long. — Food was a gruel form of Traditional Peruvian dishes. The best place was Gullianos, which closed down cause they sold the building. He had a real Authentic Peruvian Cuisine restaurant. My Lomo Saltado was very salty and tasted like pure Soy sauce. The Ceviche we ordered was constructed with what looked like Walmart frozen shrimp, mind you there is a Walmart and a Bj’s near by that sells bulk frozen seafood and the salchi papas tasted like they used a pack of the cheapest hotdogs in the deli section of king kullen. The food was horrible and the service was less than the worst i have had in any place. I have had better service at the local Mcdonalds. Stay away from this place. Ohhh, i didn’t complain to the manager because she would not have cared, she was on her iphone on a table and laughing out loud in the middle of the dining floor. Very unprofessional and i will never go there again and recommend that my family and friends stay away.

Having gone to this restaurant a handful of times in the recent year my and my family’s experiences has been mixed but mostly negative. Orders take long, the service is mediocre, and the food average at best. In comparison to other Peruvian restaurants on LI and in NYC, the only saving grace of this restaurant is their rotisserie chicken. My last experience left much to be desired, both the ceviche and the lomo saltado were poor. The beef was chewy and of poor quality; the person I was eating with ended up not being able to eat half the pieces. The fish was stale and unappetizing, adorned with a stiff piece of corn and a not fully peeled piece of potato. We ended up not even finishing either plate which were overpriced for their quality. As a Peruvian, I do not recommend this restaurant. There are nicer locales with better food in neighboring Lynbrook and further out in Hicksville and Queens.

Live in the area. We have both taken out and eaten here. The décor is minimal. The food is excellent. All the usual items. Delicious chicken, rice and beans. A lot of other items on the menu. Everything was real good. What you see is what you get. We think its great

Great Peruvian food in Valley Stream! Fantastic Jalea! Good ceviche, fried rice with seafood, chicken, etc. Eat in or take out!
