La Perla De Oriente Restaurant & Bar

Went to this place for a surprise baby shower and they got a patron for life. What a great little Spanish bar. The music and atmosphere is traditional Latin theme. The staff was wonderful and fast. I really enjoyed the place. I was even greeted by the owner, Santos, a very nice guy. But let me tell you about the food, In one word… Amazing! They stick to the classic Spanish menu when the food came out hot and fresh. My favorite was the steak, it was cooked well and marinated well. It held in great flavor and was easy to cut. The buffalo wings were also a hit. They were the first to go, and everyone took some. They were meaty and had a little kick to them. Normally I don’t like them that way but they made them well. If I ever have my need to do Spanish food again and I’m in the area, this will be the place I go to.

Lucky they even get one star. Ordered here from work and ordered the sautéed chicken with rice. When the delivery came i got fried chicken and french fries. I called thinking they would have apologized and sent me what i ordered but no. They said I have to pay for both. I will never order from them again. Currently ripping up menu. To bad i would have been a great customer. We order a lot at my job.

Was starving! Stopped to grab a bite. I was served burned beef empanadas fried in old grease with salsa as a sauce and none for my ensalada though I asked twice.
The Pollo y Arroz was basic. Nothing special. I live near and won’t be back. This foodie was not happy with her first try of El Salvadorian food. Going home to add MY salad dressing to this dry salad.

Ok let me start by thanking for the people who have given the past reviews you are right .
The food is good but not good enough to keep me as a customer even if you gave me the food for free. The service is horrible ! Today I ordered a meal that was 13 dollars @ 6:33 pm it did not arrive till 3 hours later I am serious they accidentally delivered my food to another place and the person paid for it !
I then called the shop but there environment was so loud that got my address wrong then they sent the driver with my food second time and they got the address wrong again ! Yes wow such service was madness then after that the driver calls me back to get full address again because the lady who picked up & owner did not understand me and I speak Spanish what a shame ! Tip (turn down music)
I said yes I like the food delivered and I have ordered numerous times and this was the 2^nd time last time was 1 hour & this time it was 3 hours but this is not all
Have you in mind if you are late for three hours you would think they would give you the food complimentary nooooo!!! Not them they reduced it only 3 dollars I guess a dollar for every dollar so if I waited 14 hours for the food I would of got it free !
The place in side is not a good environment for me & all you people can take your chance on that but the service makes me never ever to order from them ever again till I die because it is a shame that the owner did not even seem to care I guess it’s normal for them to have such service … I should of went to Taco Bell it would of been at least better service & food !!
It’s not worth the hassle for anyone to go through headaches especially when they thought the place was 5 star but 12 days later after numerous problems & order delays and people not being able to listen to your address given for delivery it becomes a serious problem ! If I could give it a –5 stars I would !!
I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE NOT EVEN TO MY ENEMYS!

This place has wonderful food. Their refried beans are incredible. I love their steaks. Highly recommend!

I’ve been coming here for quite some time and their service has always been pretty consistent. I’ve always ordered different items from their expansive menu and have always been happy with their dishes. Overall, a great place for dinner, take-​out or delivery… I’ve tried them all!

Everything I’ve ordered here has been delicious. I especially like the pupusas and the grilled shrimp. The margaritas are great! The owner is really nice and enjoys chatting with his customers, making everyone feel welcome in his establishment. Don’t forget to save room tor the flan! It’s the best!

This is in my opinion the best Latin food in valley stream. The owner is great. Meals are generous and prices are very low. I really enjoy the cheese pupusas, and the shrimp tacos as appetizers. For dinner they have a combo plate with steak, shrimp, chicken and sausage. It’s very good and the rice that they use is delicious. Again prices are very very good. Check this place out.

I’ve been going to this spot for a couple years now, basically since they opened. They always made great dishes at pretty cheap prices. The only downfall was that the waitresses spoke Spanish, and weren’t very good with English.
Well, that’s pretty much changed and the waitresses are pretty good with English now.
They recently changed the quality of food and the way they make some of their dishes (the steak fajita for example). OH MY GOD this place is better than before. If I could give 6 stars I would.
Everything here is awesome! The empanadas, steak and chicken fajitas, the soups, tacos… everything.
We’ve never had a bad experience here. This place is a hidden gem. Not to mention their prices are extremely fair for the amount of food you get.
I would highly recommend this to anyone in the VS area.
