BJ’s Wholesale Club

THE worst customer service here. It is not my regular home store. I have a tax exempt business account for an educational institution. I do not have any problems when making my purchases elsewhere. This location makes me jump through hoops of flames to when purchasing items here. I need to avoid this place in every possible way and stay at my home store near Coney Island Brooklyn.
I have provided Management with all proper documents when I opened my account. Why do I need to do this every time I’m paying for something. There is a new manager each time I come here. You don’t want my money. That is fine.
This is why the turnaround of employees is so high where as your competitor Costco keeps their customers and staff loyal and happy.

I was very hesitant to try this BJ’s location due to the fact that it’s near Green Acres.
BUT it wasn’t that bad. I mean if you need somewhere to buy in bulk and you don’t really care about customer service then this is your place.
Staff was so non compliant. I witnessed a staff member literally ignoring a customers question after multiple times of trying to gain their attention. That was the first time in life I’ve ever seen that. So rude.
Besides that, the prices are great, can’t complain about that.
Samples were barely there. It was just one lady giving out a potato sample. The lines weren’t overbearing. They had multiple lines open and they moved fast.
There were also boxes by the exit sign that were free and you can take them to stick your groceries.

Customer service is horrible, entering and leaving they are rude. In the store rude. No one looks like they want to be there. Pls avoid this BJs go to Farmingdale if like ppl who greets you

I’ve written reviews for restaurants but a BJs. Why bother? What can be any different?
Well, it’s a Tuesday night near 7:30 and the very few cashier are lines about 30 deep each (I counted… no kidding).Like everyone else, after a ½ hour we were able to see that there were a few inside lines obscured from the first row of shelves with 4 or 6 customers and no one thought to redirect the long long lines reaching more than halfway back in the store or alert them of the much shorter lines? To me that is both laziness and poor customer service. With big Wagon filled with items, you do the math! I don’t frequent this store and go often to the Freeport and Levittown stores and have never ever experienced this. I noticed some empty shelves, could not even find cream cheese.
I am compelled to write this review because this BJS is the antithesis of every collective experience I had since becoming a member 13 years ago. I could have traveled several miles out of the way to the Freeport store, found good stock and attentive staff and could have been home sooner. Look at the other reviews. This is not an anomaly.

You don’t get greeted at the door. I hate that.
However, the store itself is always organized.
The staff is very unhappy. For some reason, no one smiles, or says hello. They don’t ever acknowledge that your there. They just ring you up and send you on your way.
I don’t really have any other complaints.
I would recommend.

My family comes here once in a while when we come to Valley Stream for Walmart because it’s right across the shopping center. It’s a lot less crowded than the one at Gateway Drive so that’s a relief but the cashiers are soooooooooooo slow. Everyone already has cartloads of items to begin with since it’s a wholesale store so each customer is already gonna take a long time to ring up but the cashiers here take their sweet time. We waited at least 15 minutes for one customer to finish checking out. It’s absolutely ridiculous because this happens every time we come to this location. Lines may be longer at the Gateway Drive location but that’s because there are more people, not because of cashier inefficiency. On top of that, this BJ’s is not as well stocked as others. Many things that we were looking to buy today were out of stock.

The worst BJ’s I’ve ever been into!!! Customer service, there is none. The worst ever. Went to this BJ’s as it was just where I was at the time and was doing a BBQ that night. Went to buy some ribeye steaks and this store puts bad meat in the shelves and mixes steak cuts. We spent $ 100 on pure crap. Said ribeye and wasn’t. Meat department was small and some were spoiled. Buyer beware. Never go again. I have 3 BJS around me in the flushing area and all are well run and carry good quality stuff but this store should be closed down for sure.

This Bjs is not bad selection wise but staff is extremely rude and lazy! Not to mention the bathrooms are always dirty.

The BJ’s isn’t as big the one in Glendale, but it’s much more organized, cleaner, and less crowded.
Located across from Walmart so it made food shopping much easier. I was able to navigated thru here pretty quickly and the check out lines were great. They weren’t go long and the cashier was nice and very fast.
Well definitely visit again.

Truthfully, I haven’t had any MAJOR problems shopping here for my household essentials. I gave it 3 stars because they have my favorite bacon here ;) #yaybacon
When I first signed up, I asked if they had a special student membership. I was able to get a BJ’s Membership Card for $ 30 instead of the regular $ 50 card. That’s nice. So I suggest if you’re a student, ask about this program. Because if you don’t bring it up, they won’t either.
There was a time that I was annoyed. It was early in the morning, I came to pick up. Few things. Behold, there was a guy in front of me. He looked confused. Then the cashier asked if she can use MY membership card for his transaction. I asked why, cause they can look you up in the system if you «left it home»…so I’m guessing he didn’t have a membership card at all. I’ve come to conclusion that this cashier was trying to help a friend and cheat the system. Annoying.
Overall, this club could be better. The workers here are a hit-​or-​miss. You’ll get some okay ones, and some rude ones.

This BJ’s sucks, please do not come here. This is enough I can’t even waste my time writing more about this place.

Grocery shopping done here is not painless but if you have multiple mouths to feed and are in need of bulk tp and other paper products this is your place.

I don’t really need a BJs card, but somehow I have one and never fail to renew it year after freaking year. Do I really need a ton of butter and a 35 pound bag of rice? No and no. But I still go and still get stuff that takes me about a year and then some to finish, all so I can say, «I got a bargain».
The BJs in Valley Stream, LI is awful. I stood on line for 30 minutes just to get a new card. While on line one of the customer service gals got into an argument with another employee who was wearing a batman t-​shirt that was one size too small. This stupid argument probably added another 5 minutes to my wait time.
I finally get my card. I quickly grab the items I need and made sure I had no more than 8 total. It was a total zoo in there so I wanted to make sure I could use the express lane. Most customers can’t seem to understand this idea that some lines are for those with 8 ITEMS OR LESS so the express lines looked just like the regular lines. BJs finally makes an annoucement explaining what 8 ITEMS OR LESS means. Things clear up but it still takes me about 45 minutes to check out.
It’s a busy Saturday morning. Get more workers on the registers. Jeez!

Nothing really special. Insanely long lines from Friday night to Sunday night. Good luck if you try going shopping on the weekends. They have their own parking lot, however on the weekends you might have to spin couple of arounds. Also weekends its hard to find a shopping cart. Of course if your going to BJ’s you definitely need a shopping cart. If you have to wait till someone comes out and follow them around for the shopping cart. Some people are so rude including the staff. Hey I am not there for their services. As long as they swipe my coupons and get me through I am A.O.K.

Please avoid this BJ’s at all times!!! Everyone is freaking rude here, especially the staff in the entrance. We are the customers and not some criminals. Don’t look at us like we stepped on your tail you crazy animal!
Let’s see. They don’t have enough items in stock. They certainly do not have a good variety like the other BJ’s. Their inventory is super disorganized. You look at each isle and go, what a MESS! The lines are crazy long and never ending. OMG, I can just go on and on about this Bj’s. Who manages this BJ’s anyway? I suggest all customers LEAVE immediately and go to the next nearest BJ’s!

I was excited that a BJ’s close to me was opening up. But god, this place is ghetto! The people who work here are ignorant, and power hungry. Ok. You work at BJ’s, you’re not the president so calm down. They always try to pull their power trips on you. Also, the people who go here are obnoxious, rude, and always in the way. They stop anywhere and anyplace!!! Also, this is the most understocked BJ’S ever. They have virtually nothing. Do not go here. Just go to the one in Westbury.

I don’t look forward to a trip to this BJ’s. The store is always crazy packed, discombobulated, and the lines are just a joke. Even on the 15 item or less line you will wait for half hour. Who has time for that?!
Well, I guess I do. I shop here because:
BJ’s has the best rotisserie chickens (when they actually have them.)
A fresh Pineapple was $ 1.99 each. They were big too.
The chocolate/​raspberry rugelach is ah-​maz-​ing.
They have a Sbarro express inside.
They always are giving away a free sample of something.
I bought the coolest tool I have in my kitchen at this BJ’s. The Euro Slicer!
They sell like a 30 pack of multi-​color Sharpies. (I have a weakness for Sharpies.)
This isn’t a place to come in a time crunch situation. If you can leisurely roam the aisles, then arm yourself with patience and a People magazine for the disastrous lines, go for it.

If you don’t have to go to this particular BJ’s, do yourself a favor an don’t. It is situated behind a busy shopping mall with no back way out. The parking and entranceways/​exits aren’t the greatest either.
But mainly don’t go if you expect this BJ’s to stock the same items you can find in other BJ’s. I went there today. They didn’t have this. They didn’t have that. I only got half the stuff I went for. The selection is even less than Freeport. Go to Westbury, they seem to have everything. I don’t understand why BJ’s does this… not carry all the same items in each store. Really annoying. What if you went to Home Depot and they said «Oh this Home Depot doesn’t carry hammers»?
When I went to checkout, there was only one express line (sometimes BJ’s in Freeport closes theirs, so I guess I was lucky) and I had to wait awhile. Not going back to this BJ’s. Three times was enough.

Yet again, this place is overcrowded. Impossible to park and walk to the store with out getting practically clipped (as my dad would say).
Came here for a few items I had gotten last time (in Freeport). Well… they were cleaned out of everything. No gallons of water, no veggie burgers, cetaphil… Absolutely none. Crazy. Definitely not worth getting clipped.

A necessary evil of parenting…
If you value your sanity don’t go here on the weekends.
