This museum may be small, but it sure has a lot of what makes California. Hmmm… sounding like Huell Howser there for a moment. Oh wait, the curator said he did visit the place. This place is very cool! With all the casinos around, I thought there would be nothing of interest around. My GPS is something to THANK for pointing out this place. It told me about my other review of the Corner Skillet and the museum. This museum has a lot of important facts about how California chose its famous logo, the California Grizzly Bear. The museum pays tribute to a lot about the Homestead Act. Do you remember the Homestead Act? The museum had artifacts from the Old West(carriages, how people dressed, and the history of Bear Valley before it became Valley Centre to Valley Center). The museum, also, has a statue of a 1923 Academy Award on loan from a local family. I recommend going to this museum if you are in Valley Center. Valley Center is just purely beautiful. I am headed back to the Los Angeles Metro in a couple hours and the smog and building will ruin the view. Don’t forget, the traffic in Valley Center is nonexistent. Valley Center is what I imagine what Kansas or the Midwest seems to be. Have Fun here and Keep Unilocaling!
