I never leave reviews on Unilocal but after having my car serviced at this shop, I felt compelled to write a review for people who are considering going to this shop in the future.
The story: My clutch had gone out (could not engage at all) on the 80 freeway, and I was somehow able to drive my car to the nearest repair shop off the Georgia St. exit. Having no choice but to get my clutch checked out at Tire Tech, I had them diagnose my car.
Without doing any diagnostic testing for the integrity of the clutch, I was told to have my clutch replaced. I was a little skeptical because a month earlier, my trustworthy mechanic back in LA had told me that the clutch was fine and I did not need a replacement anytime soon (my car had around ~110k miles at the time).
Having no choice, I asked how much a replacement would cost in total.
I was charged $ 1600 total, including the clutch kit (~$ 1100) and labor ($ 450) which did not seem right to me (I don’t drive a luxury car of any sort).
Being even more skeptical, I called my mechanic back home and he told me that the parts were way overpriced. He was also able to find a OEM clutch kit for about ~$ 400, and so I had him ship the kit to Tire Tech.
After several interactions with the lead mechanic, he seemed very frustrated and very hostile towards the situation. He suddenly became very rude, and told me that they were not responsible if anything were to happen after their labor.
I also needed to have the fly wheel resurfaced, which cost me $ 140 at Tire Tech. Doing some research online, resurfacings usually cost about $ 40~$ 60.
Overall, I am very frustrated and disappointed with their service and I am glad to not come back here for repairs ever again.
Please do yourself a favor and find a mechanic that you can trust.

Came here to have 2 used tires put on. Paid $ 40, a bit more pricey than I expected but they got the job done fast and done right. No complaints here.
